Lark hadn't been paying attention, and let out a squeak as Sosa approached. She put on her stubborn faace. "I was outside racing Arkon." That was the truth. Now, explaining how she had been lurking outside for hour before that would be a bit harder...

Ivika gave a slight grin as well, "Yeah. I guess so. Never can be too sure though."
((AFK for a good long while.))

Sosa frowned as he sat down, looking at Lark with slightly narrowed eyes. "And Why were you outside before that? We've told you to tell us when you're going out."
Arkon smiled and his tail wagged, then stopped as he glanced over at Lark and her parents.

Lark kept his gaze, thinking fast. Errmm. Time to just talk at him... "I did tell you!" she protested. "You might have been asleep, though... I went out to dig for berries, and then I was stalled when I saw a frozen lake... Then I climbed a tree, and climbed a few more... Dug for berries with Arkon... Oh!" She blinked, remembering why they had returned to the house in the first place. "Baaz came and warned us about some weird 'Soultakers' that are coming back!" Maybe that would distract him from the fact that she was making up excuses.

Sosa frowned as he listened to her story. His tail lashed behind him at the mention of Soultakers and he glanced over at Baaz. He was silent for a long while before he finally spoke. "Don't think your out of trouble little missy."

Lark was getting hopeful as her father glanced around, then scowled and stared at her paws as he spoke. Dangit. So close. "Is it going to be delayed trouble?" she asked hopefully.

"It depends completely on your mother." Sosa said as he glanced at his daughter. He tilted his head and then leaned over, giving her a gentle nuzzle. "We just worry about you sweetheart...we don't want you to end up hurt."

Lark sighed, then smiled slightly at her dad. "Yeah, I know. The house is just so boring. The world is huge! Being confined here makes me bug out." She looked longingly out a window at the snowy hills. "You've traveled around, right? It's not all like the farm?"

"No, it's not. There are lots of things to see. But you're still a child Lark, both you an Kei are still young. When you get older, I promise we'll go and see as much as we possibly can, alright?"

((Yay! My Aotona was restored!))
Lark sighed, then nodded. "How long does it take to not be young?" she asked, only half serious this time. She smiled amusedly at her father.

(( Yay! Grats! ))
"In another three or four years. I'm not sure how long it takes for Eevee to mature, but Absol are generally mature at about ten or so. Most of the time...unless it's a Male.."

Summer padded over, prodding Sosa with an amused paw. "If it's a male they never mature," she joked. She turned her head back to Lark. "Three years sounds right. It's not that long, and you keep forgetting about the other kids here. I know they would happily play."

((Sorry I haven't been on, I've not been feeling the best lately.))
Asher padded inside, looking at Lark with his ears down. He hoped she wasn't in trouble for almost crashing into him.
Baaaz nodded to Deppy, not entirely sure what it was. "Baaz, I'm an Arcanine, a pleasure." He responded before looing up.
"It's true, I come bearing a warning. The Soultakers are returning." Baaz lowered his ears, curling his tail around his feet. "If we are to have any chance at defeating them, we need to start acting."
"Soultakers?" Venin whispered to Phantom. "The hell? I thought it was the Dusk coming back."
~
<Listen, I don't have time to explain, they're already slaugtering my own kin.> Vethor responded, mading sure his "voice" sounded strained. <The Soultakers return, you need to-Ahh!>

((Seriously. Getting paid to play Call of Duty and watch Zombieland for a couple hours is pretty the best job in the WORLD. *pleased.*))
Ivika looked from Arkon to Baaz, looking up at the much bigger Arcanine. "I can help, if you want. That is, if you want me to help. I'll understand if you don't, really. I'm fine with leaving. Not many people like a smart-mouthed leafeon like me..." She scowled, looking at her paws, ears drooped.

((WHAT. What job is THAT?! I want it!))
The Sinistra peered out into the sea of minds. The rest, however brief, had rejuvenated her greatly. Now she was restless again, eager to manipulate the weak minded.
((Any volunteers? >.>))

((Babysitting my mom's friend's kid. It was awesome. XD
And I think I've successfully developed more of Ivy's character. I think her flaw will be despite her bravado and rather care-free attitude, she has a serious condition of not really believing in her potential. Low self-esteem. Kind of thinks everyone doesn't like her. Interesting to see how that ends up playing out. Feel free to mess with her, Lupis. I think she'll stay on the good side for balance though.))
Soultakers and Dusk were new terms to the leafeon, so after her failed volunteering to help, she fell silent again.

"I'm deppy,I'm not sure what you mean by pleasure because I have no prize with me but" she shrugged

Baaz looked at Ivika and nodded, his face grim. "Thank you, we'll be needing as many people to help as we can get, if the old tales of the Soultakers are true."

Ivika looked up, blinking. She brightened a bit, her ears perked as she raised her paw to her face in an imitated salute. She was pleased that she would be useful, that they wanted or needed her.

((In an effort to get the ball moving here a bit, I'm going to speed things up a little.))
"As much as I'd like to sit here explaining what's happening, I'm not entirely sure we have the luxury of time here." Baaz said as he padded over to the door frame, a crisp late winter's breeze wafting against his face. "Soren was... urgent, I think they're already moving. And if the legends are true, this means bad news for us."
"Hold on, hold on." Venin growled, stepping forward with her tail swaying. "I don't know about this soultaker crap, but we have other worries. Phantom here overheard a message from Buzzard. The Dusk are reforming, with intents on finishing their crusade."
~
Psychosis' ears flicked up, and he swiveled his head to look into the distance. He sensed someone approaching, he was unsure what it was though.
<Don't worry, it's an ally. She seeks the mirror just as we do.> The voice of Insins said calmly. Psychosis nodded, starting forward again to meet up with this new ally.
