blugh that one idiot who sits there and QQs about how dare someone have a naming theme for their dragons that's blankIntern for exalting. I know it was a Lightning flighter and I know it was during the Lightning/Earth push in which, you know, we all mass bought dragons. And they had a theme and it's a running joke that exalted dragons are interns for the Stormcatcher.

But the fact someone is crying about it bothers me. If you don't like it, NAME YOUR DAMN DRAGON.

People do not have ANY excuse about not liking the names of their dragons AT ALL EVER. EVER. You sold it, it's not yours. They can do what they want. AND IF YOU DIDN'T WANT A DUMB NAME NAME IT YOURSELF CHRIST.

It's not hard.

Should they complain about a name like that..no, but name it yourself is an unfair fling and a fight no one is ever going to agree on to many on both sides of that isle.

I dunno. I still don't think there's any reason why you shouldn't name your dragon before you ship it out if you care about that kind of stuff. If you don't, don't name it. If you do, then make sure you name it something you'd like. If someone truly wants to mess with you, sure they'll buy a scroll. But very few people do.

Some people are really put off by named dragons - personally, it annoys me as I have to buy a renaming scroll, and it makes me glance over them in the AH as I like dragons that haven't been bred yet (named ones always make me think they have). It takes just seconds to hit the randomize button to get a 'decent' name - it probably takes someone longer to think of the silly names like 'Blah-intern' - so to me, arguing that it's part of the 'omg mass dragon bought for exalt push no time' argument doesn't work :/

Seems that pricing dragons up when they have the exalt bonus doesn't work either - someone bought my 3 crackle tundra babies the other day for 15kT each, then promptly exalted them (but with nice names!)

I can't say that I think it 'takes a lot of time' for that Intern thing personally and it annoyed me too. Especially since they reused the same like three dumb names for a dozen dragons they bought from me. How hard is it to poke the randomizer button and get a name that isn't goofy.

Also if something upsets someone, bitching that they're "crying about it" is kinda rude. They're voicing how they feel about something that bothers them; dismissing it with 'OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE THE WHINING WTF U SUCK WHINER' is not disagreeing with the opinion, it's being snotty about it.

I name exalt dragons... if they're set at exalt prices... but during those ridiculous exalt pushes people buy dragons for non-exalt prices and then give them dumb names and exalt them anyway. i don't want to pre-name a dragon that someone might actually want to keep, so I end up with dragons I thought were worthwhile with names I consider terrible in my breeding lists, forever. And yes, that bugs me too.

I'm not saying it was a matter of time. I'm saying you sold your dragon without naming it. If you didn't want to run the risk of some "stupid" name, you should have named it. Once you sell a dragon, you have no authority or power over it. If I want to name a dragon Stinkface I can and there's not a whole lot people can do. And saying random name generator is a good alternative isn't really since you can get 'stupid' names from there as well.

But hey, I figure I can name all my future exalt bait things like Deadsmell or Hackberry or Bonebraid or Gawr, all silly things that came out of the generator.

Or ExaltBait. Has a nice ring to it.

Am sorry, really don't get that argument either - its like saying if I hit you with my car in a 40mph zone and I was doing under 40, then its fine; you're alive still, so what? Or making some joke that someone finds inappropriate, if you're offended then whoops, tough luck! Consideration is a nice thing - but then again, its the internet

Personally I feel this argument has reached a point on here where neither side is going to convince the other that they are wrong so why don't we let it go and agree do disagree and attempt to respect each other.

It's disheartening to see such arguments within a community I love Yet, I'm thankful in some respect as I'm looking to swap flights - guess lightning isn't the place for me

Ah, oh well. I'm sure Lightning Flight really won't be too disheartened by the loss. Good luck finding a different flight though.

There is a policy now that if you name a dragon something rude the administrators can step in.. so better not

For what it is worth i know that alot of ppl disagree about this subject and i am sure that the administrators will try to see the side of both.

For what it's worth, I've been trying to name the dragons I have been getting for this push decent names, if they come unnamed. However, what i consider a decent name, others might find stupid.

however, I have had more than few come through with names that are less than desirable, but I'll be damned if I am spending 6000 treasure on a renaming scroll on a dragon that I was sent for exaltation.

at this point I don't even bother to sell most of my hatchlings. I hatch them, give them a once over and usually just exalt the whole batch if the colors and genes don't look promising. the more interesting clutches I hold on to till adulthood to try and give them a chance- then they get exalted too. I cant even give away adult triple gened rare for free anymore since no one will take them.
the only breeds that seem to be holding their own even remotely are wildcalws and coatl, since the scrolls to buy them cost gems. and even those breeds are plummeting fast and wont sell unless they are triple gened.
with most people maxing out their layers and pumping out tons of hatchlings, the price of exalt really needs to go up or the breeding cool down needs to go up- or the probability of gened dragons hatching gened offspring need to go down. neither of those options sounds like fun.
I make more money from one trip to the marketplace & reselling clothes, or selling my haul from my daily "gather items" than I do in 2 weeks of trying to sell dragons.

on the up side of things though, it looks like the starter dragons are slowly starting to make a tiny come back since absolutely no one is breeding them anymore. imps on the other hand are now more common than dirt since everyone is collecting and breeding them like crazy since their price dropped a few months back.

*headdesks* the pink floofy tail is in....and no one is selling enough materials reasonably. Like seriously...I need 40 umbral catfish and 1 moth familiar(the green one). Someone is selling 30 catfish for 150k. What the fucking fuck....

So Wildclaw scrolls will be cycling OUT of the gem shop May 1st.

Internally I am absolutely screaming cause it's my ULTIMATE FAVORITE BREED.

At the same time I'm utterly indifferent because I'm not donating anymore.

My first coatle nest will be ready to lay at roll over and...the prices are dropping off. /sigh

I think they are putting the WC on hiatus in hopes of bringing up the price on the breed since it was meant to be rare and expensive and now it cost 10k to buy a hatchling. (Also I think its now apparent that the coatl was meant to replace it in the gem department.)

but seeing as there are like three or four times as many imps as any other breed on the auction house right now even though they were a limited edition kickstarter scroll breed that is no longer around- I wouldn't worry too much about them going away unless you want to breed change for some very specific colors you don't feel like waiting to breed yourself.
