So the team I've got to work with is:
Kyurem, trying to get a lonely natured one
Volcarona, trying for modest
Cofigrigus, hunting bold
Bisharp, Adament...might take a bit
Samurott, Lonely hunting
Galvantula, modest hunting

After I find the right natures, I'll train them up, though I am not sure what kind of moves sets I want for them...

Having experience with a Volcarona...Quiver Dance is its main appeal.

Flamethrower/Fire Blast and Bug Buzz to cover STABs is nice too.

Have I mentioned I hate the Battle Tower? Well, I do. A lot.

Yesterday, I was playing SoulSilver for the heck of it. Decided to see how my Typhlosion, Tyranitar and Raikou would fair in the Battle Tower. Keep in mind I had a 21 streak, so I was in for fighting fairly strong things. Fine with me.

My team was:

Taronga the Typhlosion: Has Eruption, Flamethrower, Rollout and Focus Blast (I should REALLY fiddle around with her moveset, but it didn't really matter due to her Choice Scarf, which was there because of Eruption.)
Physis the Tyranitar: Has Stone Edge, Crunch, Earthquake and Ice Fang (Wearing a Choice Band)
and Pantheris the Raikou: Has Hidden Power (Dragon), Charge Beam, Shadow Ball and Extrasensory (Wearing a Life Orb)

It was pretty easy winning most of the battles. What Taronga didn't blast into oblivion with Eruption or Focus Blast, either Pan or Physis dealt with easily.

That is until my, what.. 45th battle. First Pokemon out was Donphan. It managed to survive Taronga's attack and then one-shotted her with Earthquake. It then went down to Pan, though. Then came.. Claydol. It managed to easily destroy Pan, and then do a helluva lot of damage to Physis. Next out..? Glaceon. I could have SWORN he'd be able to take an Ice Beam at about 60 HP thanks to his special defense boost from Sandstorm.. But.. *Sighs* Yeah. I was almost to fighting the Tower Tycoon again. And I was so damn sure I'd be able to beat his team of Legendaries this time! Damn that friggen Claydol! ARGH!!

Yeah. Rant there. Grrr.

@ Makoes: My Volcarona holds a Life Orb...this way it hits harder AND gets freedom of choice with moves. Plus if things look a little shaky that using Quiver Dance may be a bad idea...your still hitting very hard.

@ Senna: I hate it when opponents in those things seem to get the PERFECT set up to stop you...

*Nods* Yeah. It's especially worse when you're SO DAMN CLOSE TO THAT 49 STREAK. AGGHHHHH.

Never. Going. There. Again. *Glares at the Battle Tower*

uggh yeah....like when your on the last battle before the leader...then you get owned...RAAAAAGE!

Pokemon of the Week: Leavanny ((Terrible type combo, stats not very good, movepool not all that great. Can be decent in the sun but is outclassed. Noteable for being the only Pokemon with Chlorophyll that can set up both Reflect and Light Screen. http://serebii.net/potw-bw/542.shtml))

So...I should have looked at Kyurem's attack pool before deciding to go with a Atk, rather then S.atk one...since most of its STAB abilities are...S.atk...which means, that lonely Kyurem I JUST caught...isnt what I need, but infact was many of the other ones that I had been passing up...DOH!!!! So after many many attempts, I found a Rash & alert to sound Kyurem. :) One down, mant to go!

Yay, got all my pokemon now! Roughly the natures I wanted. Finished my EV training, and now am thinking of moves. So fare I have this planned:
Valcarona: Quiver dance, Bug Buzz, Fire Blast, Fiery Dance (can change to flamethrower later if better)
Galvantula: Discharge, Bug Buzz, Thunder wave, Volt Switch
Bisharp: Sword Dance, Ironhead, Night Slash, Torment
Cofagrigus: Shadow Ball, Will-o-Wisp, Substitute, Embargo (not sure about this move set...any suggestions?)
Samurott: Rain Dance, Hydro cannon, waterfall, Ice Beam (waterfall over aqua tail due to chance for flinching)
Kyurem: Hail, Blizzard, Dragon Pulse, Safeguard

I am hoping that these moves can compliment not only the users but the party as well, and tossing in some stall tactics to hopefully throw opponents off balance. Any tips/suggestions are greatly appriciated.
As well as ideas for held items :)

For Galvantula...if it has Compoundeyes switch Discharge for Thunder.

The Volcarona's pretty nice.

Not sure on the rest XD

sadly I ended up with unearve for it.

Samurott though...I'd forgotten about Hydro cannon (150 power, plus stab...coupled with raindance for added 50% damage) thinking I should make him a S.atk rather then atk...switch waterfall for surf, and give it a wide lense to boost its accuracy. Since atm, waterfall is its only physical move, which is a waste for the other 2 special moves.

For the most part its Just Cofagrigus that I am not sure about, I was hopping our resident Ghost master would have responded by now, but, she doesnt seem to have come by here yet.

Valcarona will hold life orb, cofagrigus I was thinking left overs, Samurott the wide lense, Bisharp...maybe a kings rock, Galvantula maybe a zap plate, and Kyurem...focus band?

**edit** Just found a mild, Mischievous Oshawott, and it was shiny to boot (even though I didnt have the shiny code on!)

*Skedaddles in, skids to a halt, flailing as she almost falls over doing so* I'M HERE!

For Desukan? Hmm.. The moveset I was planning on using for mine was... Will-o-Wisp, Shadow Ball, Disable and something else I can't remember.. But if you're up to breeding a new one.. You could try Nasty Plot, Shadow Ball, Energy Ball and Psychic? Give it Leftovers and it shold make a fairly good bulky but still fierce special attacker.

Also, a little advice for Galvantula.. Try getting a new one with Compoundeyes. Thunder is amazing to have with that better accuracy.. And give it Energy Ball and Bug Buzz. Not sure on the last move, but mine has Thunder Wave, which comes in handy a lot.

Hell, I have advice for all of them. Heh.

For Kyurem.. Get rid of Hail and go with Ice Beam. It's strong and you don't have to choose between either setting up Hail or just going for Blizzard and hoping it hits. You could try Hidden Power if you're lucky enough to get one with some type of Hidden Power that's strong against Steel.. If not, Focus Blast. Dunno 'bout the last spot.. Hyper Voice maybe?

Bisharp looks pretty good.. Except for Torment. It's a Swords Dancer, it's already gonna have trouble staying alive to do something due to having to set up before attacking. If you're up to breeding one.. Psycho Cut could really prove useful for it.

Volcarona.. You don't really need two Fire type attacks. Since you have Quiver Dance, you don't really need Fiery Dance. Just go with either Fire Blast or Flamethrower and replace Fiery Dance with, uhh.. Psychic. (I would say SolarBeam, but with no sun support, it's fairly useless.)

As for Samurott.. Hydro Cannon? Really? That's a GIANT no-no. Any Hyper Beam variants are out of the question. And Rain Dance probably isn't the best move, for just about the exact same reason I said not to use Hail on Kyurem. You could try the moveset my Samurott has, if you're fine with a mixed set.. It's Megahorn, Ice Beam, Return and either Surf or Waterfall.

As for items.. Life Orb works for Volcarona, definitely. Muscle Band for Bisharp.. Leftovers for Desukan.. Maybe.. Rocky Helmet for Samurott? It might not work for other Samurotts, though.. Mine has really good defense for it works for him.. Probably not best for others... Hmm.. Well.. Razor Fangs are always useful. BrightPower for Galvantula (It's a pretty damn frail little thing.. This makes it more likely to avoid the really strong attacks like Hydro Pump and Fire Blast!) and... Uhh.. Wise Glasses for Kyurem!

... Uh, yeah, I kinda went overboard there. What can I say? I've been reading too many competitive battling sites.. (Looking at you, Smogon! *Shakes fist*) Um, hope this helps? XD;;

I am not doing breeding, takes to long. Just doing an <insert pokemon to encounter>, <insert lv 1>, <insert 100% catch rate>, start game, walk in grass, throw desired pokeball (ie Dive ball for Oshawott).

given the strength of Hydro cannon, why would it be a no-go? Asides from being out for the following turn, it seems like its most powerful S.atk.
Though I also have the Atk natured/personalitied Oshawott that I could give that other move set to.

Kyurem is more set to be a dragon killer, giving a boost to ice attacks. I am not sure where to find out my pokemons Hidden power type.

And I went with Fiery dance over flamethrower due to the added stat boost for the times when its not a good idea to use quiver dance. if anything I'd replace fire blast due to its lower accuracy. (I have horrible luck, it always misses for me)\

I'll redo galvantula and hope to find a compound eyes one with the right nature/personality

I understand the point with Bisharp, I wasnt sure what to have for its last slot since it two main attacks were pretty good, I thought to just toss something in to mess with my opponent.

I'll see how closely I can get Cofagrigus' movesets, its Def/s.def trained. or should I go with different stats?

*Sighs* Breeding is HARDLY difficult if you know how to do it.. Just get a female of the species you want with the nature you want, give it an Everstone and breed with what you need for an egg move. Chances are you'll get something with the right nature right away.

And you can find out your Pokemon's Hidden Power type by going and talking to the guy standing beside the front desk in the Pokemon Center in Mistralton City.

Hydro Cannon is out of the question BECAUSE of the recharge. Do you see Dialga using Roar of Time in competitive battling? No. It may be very strong, but the recharge is DEADLY.

Ice Beam should be fine for killing dragons considering some of the strongest ones are REALLY weak to Ice. Not to mention, Kyurem is a dragon type itself, it'll hardly have time to Ice Beam anything! Do you really think it'll be able to set up Hail and then attack with Blizzard before getting killed itself?

And that looks pretty good for Desukan, I guess.

Senna: The female's not necessary anymore XD You can just do the everstone trick with a male XD
