Still working on the recap. I have two prints left, then I'll post.

Wain suggested yesterday that I did a recap on the first post.... But that's one less thing I have to do! Thanks Kalli.

What a pleasure this was to read! Thank you so much for all your hard work, everyone. I loved seeing the screenies, and feeling the excitement as I clicked on each subsequent page.
Can't wait to tame these lovelies.

I'm obsessed with them now anyway, since this is fun!

Finally caught Glimmer! Took almost 2 hours in total because I lost his trail so many times among the flower petals. He definitely patrols around the Arboretum primarily, he seems to start down in that little alley passage that's to the southwest. It's where we managed to pick it up a few times. Kalli and I finally managed to corner him just north of the Arboretum. There's a sort of clearing just north of that circular river that has some giant beehives for a quest I believe.









This was my first time attempting a track, and I have to say it was so much fun! Frustrating as hell at times, but there was always this excitement of waiting to see the next footprint. It felt so rewarding to finally flare him out after all that searching. I find it way more fulfilling than afking with NPCscan.

Agreed 100%. If you're in beta I definitely recommend tracking one of these guys to see for yourself. Once you do it it just...it feels so awesome. You really have to work for that pet, and it's not so much a gimmick as it is a sort of hide and seek. It's similar to surveying in Archaeology, trying to follow the general direction the footprint points in to look for your next clue. It's just neat thinking of this beast wandering around, and you know it's there, and you're the only one that can actually find it and bring it out into the open.

And I know it was mentioned that these beasts can be seen by non-hunters under flare, but I'm not sure if it was mentioned here that if you have YOUR hunters mark on the beast and there is no flare around, you're the only one who can see it.

I am in beta but it's uninstalled and it's slow and laggy and... honestly, I'll wait until live. I prefer it that way. Gets me more excited.

Its soo much of a hunter I really hope they keep a short spawn timer for these guys cause really you do spend a heck of alot of time trying to track them. Like alot.. its worse then trying to camp for a rare cause you know its up but you cant find it so its pretty much but sanity losing all the same Some of them can be at bad spots to, like the glimmer bug.. bad spot right in the middle of a large questing area. I see alot of people there.

How did I miss this thread for 3 days?... I was wondering what the heck you were all talking about...

At least we know about the Spirit Beasts.

I guess they got tired of us using NPCScan, lol

Quote tower of awesome. Add in a timer just long enough to keep it interesting (thanks Kalli for the info that it's short for testing!), and I will be a happy hunter indeed.

Just for reference, here are shots Bristlespine and one of the Blue Porcupines from Jade Forest (before it was redone, i haven't been back yet to see if they're still there) to compare:

I hope their timers are not the awful 6-18 hours of Cata rares. Something more akin to Skarr/Karkin (approx 2-4 hours) would be more suitable.

Only the light blue porcupines are left in the Jade Forest of the two - Bristlespine is unique.
