I actually went ahead and tried that suggestion of yours, went to a normal ToC to try this out. I fixed my mouseover macroes and with added Grid (man the thing is fun, it's a clicking GAME!!!)
It went with a breeze, no panic whatsoever, nobody dropped even below 80% it was a DREAM run!

Good deal! Regular ToC is more at your gear level, so it's a better judge of where you're at. ^_^

I remember when healing heroic ToC was next to impossible due to being under the level of the instance....and then people wouldn't run out of things they should have, etc. I felt like the worst healer....but it wasn't really my fault. Once my gear caught up a bit, the same motions that had failed before kept people alive.

Remember how I frowned upon griefing a group before leaving?

Today I just broke my code. Infact, not even 2 seconds ago. We were in PoS. tank goes, we're skipping trash, so I mount up thinking oh shit we gotta hurry cause well trash usually zooms down right? So i start hurtling for the ramp expecting everyone else to follow. Evidently that's what triggered the event.

Do they explain this? Do they tell this? Do they say this? No. And the tank spits on me. The paladin insults me, and then calls me a noob.

so I pull extra trash and decide fuck you all, I'm leaving.

Skipping trash on the ramp means going up together. Generally in pugs, that means waiting and grouping up to make sure everyone's ready to do it.

The trash only spawns when players get close enough to the base of the ramp to trigger it.

Yeah but no one's ever explained this specific fact, and most of the times when we do make attempts to skip trash, said people are either already at the ramp or the trash is usually coming anyways.

I always thought it was timed- and it seems most of the other people I ran with, thought the same. As usually when they go skipping trash it's 'hurry mount up before they spawn' sort of deal.

But the heckling and harassment I was getting, ontop of being called a noob was well I just didn't want to put up with it. And if I'm gonna get called a noob no defending is going to be listened to. And tbh I'd rather be ignored by them all mean even the healer ignored healing me a bit too :/

I was just mad that god forbid someone, be clueless as to what triggers the trash.

This is exactly why skipping the trash with a pug is a bad idea. It usually takes a lot of WAIT spam and even then, people don't always listen. It's not worth the headache.

It sounds like your group failed to explain anything, which IS their fault, but really, it doesn't justify what you did afterward in this case, since you DID wipe the group out of ignorance.

How was what I did out of ignorance :/ I was just fine to be disgruntled- I'd have just put up with it if it was just an ignore and one popshot, but the paladin kept insulting me, the tank was bloody ignoring me, the healer was deciding to not heal me it felt like and the other dps wasn't even trying to defend me. I was just being singled out and attacked. If it had just been a word or two I'd have just ranted, but no, it was like lets attack someone for not knowing.

And I doubt they wiped, this was normal not heroic and I had a party manage to survive an accidental trash pulling last bight when the tank slipped and aggroed the first of the second wave :/

Wait, what?

You mean you only got the trash to spawn? The group didn't wipe BECAUSE the trash spawned?

I misunderstood then; you're justified to be pissed at that point.

Sorry. >_<

I was in a group last night with a druid who kept wanting to blame my pet Karma (devilsaur) for their inability to hit a mob. He said "I'm having a hard time hitting anything". Second comment was "I can't hit the mob because the big dino is always in the way".
I piped up (my big mouth just can't help it) "Don't blame my pet for your poor targeting techniques. Use the tab button or 'T' to select your next target. Now shut it."
Didn't here a peep out of him after that. Why blame someone or something else for your poor skills????

Had a tank that I both loved and hated on Ovaktalo. He had great gear, he kept aggro, awesome mitigation. You name it, he had it. But...

"hunter get rid of the stupid cat and geta wolf" "shammy dont use manaspring use earthclaw" "healer dont heal the hunter he doesnt have a wolf"

Saturo, I used to have tanks (raid leaders) like that all the time in EQ. The one you encountered was probably an old EQ leader. I used to just chuckle as I lay around "feigned" on my monk... waiting for the tank to micro-manage about three other classes between pulls.

..........

So funny story. I may have been the source of a crappy group. I'm slowly working my hunter up to 80 and doing the daily normal in the process. I'm sitting out in Sholazar fishing for the ghosty when the dungeonfinder pops up. I magically appear in HoS. I check to make sure Apsu's growl is off and lay out a feast for my new friends. I had recount uninstalled for quite a while as I am usually tanking or healing. I recently brought it back in just to see how well my hunter is doing, although I am not married to it or stress about the numbers. As we move through the dungeon, I was a little concerned to see that I was flip-flopping for second place in damage. A good ret pally was consistently in first. I realized my gear was bad and the pally was burning things down pretty quickly, but I thought I should be doing a little better. I tried to pay a little closer attention to 'Viper' and be less lazy. We get to the Brann event and I run around laying traps, keep Apsu on aggressive on the steps for giggles and sleepwalk around the 'big friken lazer'. We finish up with no troubles and head down the hall to Sjonirwhatisname. Imagine my surprise when I see Apsu take off after a group of dwarves. Oops, yeah I left aggressive on. I apologize and reign the purple fella in. We get to the boss and I am popping cooldowns and going crazy. Just can't seem to get my damage up much. Oh well, I'm still 78 and working my way up. I port out and get ready to go back to looking for that elusive ghosty fish. Well whaddya know, I can't find my fishing pole in my backpack. Ooooh, that's because I'm holding it. And the rest of my random is probably still talking about what a noob hunter that was. Oh well, live and learn!

Haha this has happened in a raid I was in long ago. If anyone played in BC they know who Nightbane is ;) My mage friend thought he'd be funny and put on his farmers outfit..well boss pulls and its too late to change. So we finish the fight and hes dps'ed Nightbane down in overalls a farmers hat and boots while holding a broom on his back, had his little pet pig Mr. Wiggles out to boot. Needless to say hes never lived that down

Black Knight Phase 3 has a lot of AoE damage flying around, make's it a bit of a pain if you aren't prepared or don't have an AoE heal. *Mutters darkly* I've never wiped on it, but usually we'll lose at least one person.

Lately, I am seeing a growing trend of DPS doing stupid things and dying, and it is really starting to annoy me. Unfortunately, this trend is being accompanied by another one: Healers only healing the tank. I think I mentioned this earlier, but the problem is persisting. My DPS classes will survive fights with half or less health, and never recieve a single heal from the healer. Ever. I've done about five instances where this happens, but it's usually in the sixties range.

@Tulula: chances are, if no one commented at the time, they didn't notice. ;) As long as you were above the tank, then you're fine. You didn't wipe your group with the accidental pull, so no harm was done. I had a warlock in HoS last night who kept running ahead and pulling mobs with his felhunter because the pally healer happened to be level 80. That could have been a real disaster, but wasn't, thankfully.

I encounter this almost every night in at least one dungeon. I've even encountered where my pet gets healed and I don't. HAH! Come to think of it. Not to long ago I had a healer rez my pet when I had maybe 1/4 health left and then went on their way watching the rest of the group.
But yes. Next either happens I'm going to pipe up and say something like "heal please" or "don't forget to heal me please".

O_o

That simply baffles me. There's so many people who don't watch pets at all.

Maybe they don't have healing mods and are only watching the tank and anyone who dies, even pets. Cause yeah, healing is hard.

Ovaktalo, who is my petopian healer/inventor of the healerstab once combatressed a pet.
That was just me not paying attention to who I ressed, tough.
