As requested, some Gorilla experiments.

These got off to a slow start as I wasn't quite sure what to do. The in-game range covered most of the "natural" hair tones and then some. They didn't cover brown though:



I quickly fell in love with this mahogany coloured one. It wasn't one I'd intended to make:



Sooty brown with a red mane seems to work well too:



A swamp ape. This guy gets his greenish colouring from the algae growing in his constantly damp fur, much like a sloth:



A different kind of red to the in-game one:



Stark white with a brown face seems to look pretty nice. I think the contrast works better than the in-game pink-faced white/grey:



Gold. I tried to make a natural-looking blond but wasn't all that happy with any of them. This gold is the one I felt happiest with. It's more of a tamarin gold:



And since I was a child of the 70s, I couldn't help being a bit silly. Grape Ape, Grape Ape...

The gold and the grape don't work for me, but the rest most certainly do. The Brown and Mahogany by far being the best. These really do need to be in the game

The grape was most definitely a joke You'd have to remember the cartoon to appreciate it, though. The gold... is just one I really wanted to do but never managed to be happy with it. That was the closest I got. I still haven't figured out what to do to improve it.

With the discussion over on this thread I thought I'd have a play with stegodon / thunder lizard skins. Turns out they're fun and easy! I didn't spend too much time on them so they can probably all use little improvements here and there. You can generate pretty much any colour combo, so if anyone has any suggestions I'm happy to try them

Anyway, here's a few I liked, or at least found interesting. I may add some more later...

Dark with striking red plates:



Three very different purples, ranging from a magenta to a pale lilac. I went for contrasting plates:



A couple of blues that are very different to the in-game one. The brilliant plates on the first one remind me of something from Deepholm or some sort of subterranean environment. I went for dark plates to offset the light blue one so it didn't look like a baby's toy



A couple of earthy, brick red ones. I couldn't decide which plates I preferred, matching red or a contrasting colour:



A couple of light, almost white ones. Again I couldn't decide which plate spikes so I included both...



Some browns, with contrasting colours. The last couple are quite colourful. The second-last is kind of tropical. The last one is an odd mix of colours, almost clownish, but I thought it was interesting enough to include



A couple of very different greens to the in-game one. I love the contrasting pink outline on the plates of the second one. It just appeared by accident:

I like the subtle purple tones in the first dark one. It looks great with those berry-red plates.

The white ones are very cool, they look almost undead.

Love the dark brown with blue horn. The green with purple makes me think of the Darkmoon Faire!

The dark purple chimaera, twilight chimaera, red chimaera, black/white chimaera, dark eagle (LOVE it) and shadow eagle (LOVE that too!) look great (Just caught up with the last couple pages ^^ )

My memory fails me - did you ever do Hyenas? With those spots, they could turn out nice.

Either way, the Thunder Lizards look great! Really loving

Thanks guys . Ok, I'll try hyaenas next. Hopefully they don't have the rendering bug that's prevented me doing wolves. Any requests?

Anything with colorful spots has my approval! Could be neat to try and get a blacker black/whiter white, or something dark with bright spots, etc.

Really though, I just love hyenas and I wish they had more skins. I think you could whip up some nice ones.

Really love some of the contrasting colors on the plates/spines of the Thunder lizards. The first blue one being my favorite of course. Love the icey feel to it.

As for Hyenas, I'm always a fan of blue/white when it comes to pet skins. =D

I like Hyenas, but I just couldn't click with any of the in game ones. I have the purple/pink looking model currently, but he never gets used. I grabbed him just to cover that raid buff.

I'm afraid I haven't had much time to play with hyaenas in the past week. I'm about to head off on a hiking trip for a week and so I thought I'd post what I had...

A few bluish ones with white spots. Blue, silver-blue and purple:

A couple of different browns to the in-game one. Red-brown and tan-brown:



Something different and a bit weird. A strong purple:





And finally, something completely silly for the hell of it...



There's already Giggler in the game, so how about the Joker?
