Hehe, from one rascal pet to another. Rose will enjoy this one. xD

My challenge was;

I actually laughed when I seen this one, so many times while waiting for the blimp (zeppelin) from undercity-org I had repeatedly sent my current companion (Mostly Ohanzee) down to kill the nearby demondog.
Heading back there, I searched for said dog, but it appears he has learned form past experiences.
Finally going around said tree he was hiding behind, I locate my old target easily.
Meet Grimm! after getting a good look at him, the name suddenly popped into my head, and well he seemed to like it, either that or he's smiling because hes not dead.
His face has a tendency to bunch up when he does his idle bouncing. Its not a pretty picture;
His model is actually more detailed than I expected, from his furry feet to his muscle tone they did a pretty good job.
His mane gets me though.... its good looking from the side;
But when you face him front or back, it suddenly turns into a Mohawk. If it was more 3d like the old world lion manes, I wouldn't mind it as much.
His animations are really cool and suit him when hes running/walking. His run reminds me of hound dogs when their sprinting, while his walk/swim is just a slower version of it.
His attacks are simple, one is a derpy foot swipe;
The other is a lunge bite;
After taking him into a dungeon, I had to toggle off his "Lock jaw" ability, all it did was made him stand there wasting time, and brought my dps down about 3-4k.

Keeping it off toggle I qued up for a battleground, and proceeded to click on the ability only when it would benefit me most, otherwise an already cc'd target would just get cc'd again.

Overall look/detail: 7/10
Pvp: 8/10
Raids/Dungeons: 7/10

This time around, Rose was tasked with . Lucky for her, she happens to already have one of these little blighters in her stables and he's one of her favorite pets.

Runt is... well, he's very special and ever since Rose first encountered him in Zul'Drak he's made quite an impression. He earned the name Runt because he was smaller than all of the other Vargul Blighthounds in the area, but being a runt doesn't stop him from having a rather large personality.


The runed demon dogs are my favorite of all the dog models because their fancy skins cover up a lot more of the major flaws that the demon dogs have. And, well, despite these flaws that normally turn me away from having demon dogs as pets, they just made Runt all that much more endearing, especially since Rose has an affinity for corrupted/freakish pets. He was even there by her side as she searched for the elusive Gondria.


Because Runt is so special to me, this report will not be like my usual ones. This pet gave me instant attachment and has provided me with a lot of joy and laughs along Rose's path to level 85 (and now to 90). He is one of those pets that when I'm feeling sad or down, I can pull him out and his puppy charm will make me feel better.


He is every bit a character as his mistress and he has even earned himself a couple of small parts in the RPs I've had Rose participate in. I could not imagine Rose being without him anymore, I feel like he's become kind of an integral part of her character as he entered in a sort of turning point in her life. As long as he lives he will be there by Rose's side, bringing her joy with his puppy-like energy and charm, jumping into harm's way, even when the enemy is 20 times his own size, and begging those around him for food as if he's the most mistreated demon dog in the world. He is Runt, and he is awesome. <3






From a more practical stand point: Demon dogs are not for everybody. They have a special ability that is of little use to BM hunters and most PvE-ers. Lock jaw is a channeled ability (same with crabs' pin) which means your pet is generating no damage/aggro while the ability is in use, making this special have the most use in PvP, especially now that we have no minimum range, making keeping mobs at a distance less important. Demon dogs also have a lot of flaws in both their models and their idle "puppy jump" animation making them look a little freakish and low quality. Their run animation is adorable, however, and since they're so small when tamed, watching them fight large enemies can be rather hilarious.

Briamae's Trip to Blackrock Spire


As I was sitting back relaxing by the Deepwater Tavern's fireplace, I received a message from Tyger. I was being set out on a quest to find a Black Worg. I remembered hearing stories of some Blood Axe Worgs and Blood Axe Worg Pups and they were black. Since I hadn't explored the Blackrock area much, I decided I would check things. But a wise dwarf, never goes anywhere without doing some research. So I called upon the vast wisdom of the oracle named Petopia. Petopia knew all things about the beasts that traveled our world. Petopia informed me that the Blood Axe worgs were around the age of 56 or 57 but the pups were only 52 or 53 in age. "The pups are perfect," I thought to myself,"I'm only 55 years, I will have the wisdom to tame one of those creatures."
Now, Petopia also told me that whenever you poked the pup it would growl, a cute aggressive tactic in my book. So I started on my journey to Blackrock Mountain.

I had maps and seemed to search for hours inside Blackrock to locate the Worgs. But I was having no luck. My good friend, a night elf druid named Goldie, came by to see if I needed any help. Now Goldie, is wise in her years, (age 90) she knew the area better than I did. She took me into Blackrock Spire and we began to run this area. I remembered I had left all my pets at the stable, and decided to tame a creature to help me get through until it was time to tame my pup. We discovered the Scarshield Worg. It was a red and white colored worg. The red worg was cute, but my eye was on the Blood Axe Pup. Goldie and I found the Blood Axe Worgs and they were older than I had expected. They were about 58 or 59 in years! Goldie explained that the Pups should be younger. We found the entire litter of blood axe pups and they were 56 or 57 years old~! I was only 55! Goldie and I left with my little red worg. She explained for me to do some more research and adventuring and I would be wise enough to tame the little pups.

The next day, Goldie met me at the Blackrock Mountain entrance to try again. We fought for about an hour, and once again found the litter of Blood Axe Worg pups. This time I could tame ONE! Goldie keep Halcyon busy while I grabbed a pup with my freeze trap, and then calmed it down and it became mine!
We ran around the rest of the area, but eventually ported out. On the way back home, I decided to name my pup, DarkStorm. I took DarkStorm back to my inn room and rested for the evening. Occasionally I would poke her, to see if she really did growl..and boy does she! She does NOT like being poked.

DarkStorm looks like the other Black colored Worg in our world. She is usually pretty quiet when she runs, a nice steady pace. I think, she's just being nice since my legs are short. Whenever, I sent her out to attack, she gives a quick growl and continues to growl as she fights. (Probably because if she didn't like being poked, I am sure being attacked is even worse. LOL)

She seems to have quite a bit of skills when she does attack. She bites, growls, cowers, and has her furious howl, which seems to be a special ability. It doesn't seem to matter how many opponents we go up against, she goes right in and FLASH and she has all of their attention. After a few kills I toss a piece of meat to her (since that's all she'll eat) Her swimming is a very smooth dog paddle effortlessly seems to glade underwater.
I really like DarkStorm and will be keeping her in with my other pets. I did end up keeping the Red/White colored Worg from the Blackrock Spire, and named him Blaze. It was a great challenge to go after my worg. I have had many birthdays while going after DarkStorm and her brother, Blaze....I have now aged to 60 years....but always looking for a new adventure!

That was fun! I'd like to give it a go one more time, then I won't pick on you for awhile. :0)

So I was given

as my roll. Since the only one avaible is Plague, I deiced that I would finish getting to level 10 in Tirisfal Glades.


Once Rinel made her way to the barn where the locals said the ghostly beast laid, she crept in and there he was, napping.

After getting munched on, Rinel finally remembered that sweet song she had learned moments before and calmed the beast.




Overall he isn't too special, normal blue color but is a little see-though, tho I can't tell in most areas.






His run is kinda chunky and isn't as nice as the "normal" dogs, and he looks like he's going to fall on his face. But his walk is nicer than I expected.


His swim is pretty basic as well.


After a good nights sleep, Rinel and Plague decided it was high time to kill something.



They ran a few BGs and did some quests, but unfortunately, Plague isn't a good fit for Rinel and she decided to let him go back into the wild with the hope that maybe one day they could re-connect and share a bond.

So I haven't been into leveling my hunter alt lately, and so I decided to get my challenge done on my main instead as I didn't want to forget about the challenge and leave it undone.

I got the white crab for my challenge, so I headed out to durotar and tamed one of the many along the coast.



They have more detail than I expected them to have on their shell and claws. I never really looked at them up close, so I never noticed. I also noticed that crabs are cuter than I expected too. This may or may not have something to do with me thinking of a certain "Battle of the Blues" video on youtube.

As for gameplay, I really like their pin in pvp, which keeps a target in place for four seconds. Just enough time to disengage, concussive shot, and run. The further away melee are from me the better, heh.

I've taken a liking to crabs again after doing this challenge. I think I will get a crab on my hunter alt.

Huh, Gronnstalker is really suiting to an undead hunter. /random

This time Rose was tasked with finding and taming a Black Armored Scorpid. She had heard of a great beast that occasionally popped up in Uldum, but Rose didn't have time for such silly games as to hope the creature would be there. So instead she made her way back out into the Molten Front, knowing many black scorpids inhabited the harsh lands. She remembered one scorpid in particular that the hunter ambassadors had befriended, one that lived on a cliff on its own, overlooking the Front.

Making her way through the fire, Rose ran around to meet up with the lone scorpid. Only... she got distracted by the sight of one very shiny crab that happened to be sitting all alone over on a floating rock platform. Distracted enough to cause her to pause in her mission and reach out to the crab.


After getting over her initial distraction, Rose returned to the cliff, noticing that this scorpid was not Dante. This scorpid was decidedly female. The huntress sat down next to the new scorpid, asking what happened to Dante. The female explained that her name was Lydia and that she was a daughter of Dante, that the male scorpid had passed away some time ago from old age. She had taken over from where he left off, watching over the Front, though these days not many ambassadors visited.


Sensing the scorpid's loneliness, Rose offered to take Lydia out to see the world. The scorpid perked up immediately and followed Rose out of the Molten Front. They made a brief stop in Orgrimmar before continuing on to the Jade Forest, where Lydia got to meet Rose's scorpid mount, Xerces.


The pair decided to stretch their legs and go for a little run ((D: It was stupidly hard to get a good picture of the scorpid run)).

The scorpid run is smooth with a little bit of a bob, suiting animation, imo.

Next they decided to take a quick dip in the local stream.

The scorpid swim animation is similar to their run, only they let their legs dangle and use that tail like a big paddle.

As the pair were exploring, they were attacked by one of the local tigers, though something appeared to be wrong with the tiger. This gave Rose a good opportunity to test Lydia's mettle and see how the scorpid performed in battle.


Not bad, sturdy little bugger. Those claws are more dangerous than they look too! Lydia made chittering noises as she fought, absorbing all of the experiences she was gaining with Rose.

So as it turns out Rose ended up leaving this challenge with two new friends. xD Snap, formerly Karkin, and Lydia, Dante's daughter.

Aamu:
Orange Shale Spider

So, my first pet challenge! I had to go and tame myself an Orange Shale Spider.

The worgen Aamu had never been too fond of spiders. Ever since they swarmed her homeland Gilneas, she thought she would never have one as a pet. Shale spiders, though... maybe. Then, she encountered Glint (1). She looked at him in fascination and since she had nothing to lose anyway, she tamed him (2). He let out a cute little scream when he magically leveled to lvl 85. Aamu decided to call him "Haldor", meaning Thor's rock (she loves mythology and history). She went to Stormwind with him, where Haldor once again let out a little squeal - Stormwind baffled him. All he had seen before was the Circle of Inner Binding and the elementals surrounding it. Now he saw Night Elves, Dwarves and other folk that had once passed his land, but did nothing more than... just pass. Aamu found out that, even though Haldor was made of stone, he had a certain fondness of water, just like herself. When they were sitting in a little boat (3), she had an epiphany. She wanted to go to Uldum with him. Why? Uldum rocks (pun intended). When they arrived in Uldum, the familiar heat of that desert approached them. Haldor's colour fitted perfectly in the yellowish, sandy environment. They walked around a bit when they were rudely attacked by a hyena (4). Their journey was concluded at the pyramids, at least for the moment (5). Aamu has yet to decide whether she wants to make Haldor a permanent part of the team.

This works quite addictive. I'd like another roll, please!
