Just logged in to a beta char with the swarmer pet...
It's much larger now and classed as a Silithid - still classed as not being tameable however!

Thanks for the update! :D

Making it a silithid and not a scorpid at least suggests someone over there has been thinking about making the ants tamable, as that seems like a fairly deliberate change...

Oh boy oh boy oh boy. I saw this post and I am going out to tame one of these on each of my huntresses! Here's to hoping! eeeeeeeee

Thanks alot again Darknez!

I have been absent for some time and when I came back it was like ''POOF! Bang in the face! Right in the kisser!''

Aaand eh. I was ecstatic with lots of more Silithid and non-Silithid posts ( example: Hellhounds) and I was seriously about to make a post to ask about the ants and here you bumped this thread with a picture. What a coincidence! (It was yesterday)

So.. yay! \o/

( I already tamed one 3 months back on my hunter - hoping Blizzard doesn't change it and makes all ants tamable. I always found it ironic after Cata beta information that it was the only kind of Silithid untamable (aside from Sand Reavers, which I am still having hope for to get tamable, especially with the news of bosses in AQ being tamable <3 ) whilst the Silithid family icon is that of an ANT. I always found it odd x)

Trouble is the "Sand Reaver" species appear only as bosses or event spawns (i.e. http://cata.wowhead.com/npc=39149) so I'm not sure if they will be tameable or not :(

Would be an interesting one regardless! :)

Oh WOW, Gadget's getting its own Ring of Blood. THAT IS AWESOME.

I wouldn't expect the linked guy to become tameable, nor the later guy in the chain....Prince Mosh. (!!)

I'd love it if sand reavers became tamable... pure nightmare fuel, those.

Heya! I have spasmed alot lately with more Silithid skins and ofcourse not only Silithid skins; Chromaggus ('Ooooooh yeaaaaah..'), Demon Hounds, MOAR Shale Spider and alot more.

But I have a question - for if anyone could check if not done before. It could also just be the bug of listing untested things tamable but could any of you on the beta check:

http://cata.wowhead.com/npc=6552#comments ( AurokkSkinCopper )

&

http://cata.wowhead.com/npc=5458 (AurokkSkin) It's pink.

&

http://cata.wowhead.com/npc=5452#same-model-as (AurokkSkinBlueGreen)

I'd be really grateful if you did! I am kinda hoping that they would become you know.. normal tamables! With the Silithid family icon being the one of the Aurokk/Ant and such..

(And thanks alot, Wain and Darknez and many other betanicians for making our (WoW) life better! And Mania for her hard work too, but I believe there is a thread for that! \o/ )

Tried clearing your cache, turning off any addons, moving him around stable slots and between the active and stabled pets?

Make sure that you're Beast Mastery and have the talent. I just tamed one on live and copied my toon over, had the same problem until I speced BM. Maybe that's your issue. ;)

He's not classed as exotic but is a Silithid, so that is a possibility. I've always been BM so wouldn't have checked :P

Awesome! Thanks again Darknez. I do hope they shrink the swarmer abit. I don't mind big pets but the ant skin just needs to be abit smaller xD - Ahwell. It's a bug so I wouldn't think Blizzard would shrink it consciously.

Also. Could you try to check if the mobs listed above are tamable? They say so on WoWhead - It would make me happy. I mean, I do think Blizz plans to make the ants fully tamable. :P

Assisting as much as possible. Notice the diet, despite the sadface discovery. Visited all three, there ya go. Someday!

Judging by what we've seen so far - the alteration of a creature so that it becomes a beast, has a species and a diet.. it usually only means one thing.

They are either toying with us - or will make it tameable in a patch to follow... :)
