We went for it. Besides, if we meet anyone from Sylvanas EU they'll think "Server First!" or "Annoying gnome on mailboxes".

The guild has been formed as By Crayon Be Purged.

I find that most names that try to sound badass just end up sounding like they're trying too hard and usually get a snort of laughter from me. If we make a Guardian side guild we can always give it a more serious sounding name.

For a badass name, I'd go for something like Invictus or Cultbusters or something. I think it's hard to make a good sounding long name, single words usually succeed better. Besides, Cultbusters. Who you gonna' call?

CULTBUSTERS!!! I actually really like that one!

I totally think that if we get a Guardian side guild rolling it has to be Cultbusters!

Just imagine the recruitment add...
[1. Sanctum-Trade][Guardianalt]: Who you gonna' call? CULTBUSTERS! Nahahauhauhadauhaduaudauuadhaudauduadaudaud.
[1. Sanctum-Trade][Guardianalt]: Anyway, the guild Cultbusters is recruiting. :D If you want in with a fun loving bunch of people, toss me a whisper! ^^

If everyone ends up liking that name a lot better then I can always reform the guild into Cultbusters. It's not like we've gained any levels yet or anything.

I think its just cause I'm singing the song now and thinking that Defiants could totally be Ghostbusters with all the tech stuff and all.

Decided to upload a screenshot of my UI -

Anyone else using a totally weird layout? Lmao!
I'm kinda interested to see what other people's UI looks like, seeing as there's no addons and we're all forced to use the same customization tools and all.

You can see my fail default UI in the video I linked a few posts ago.

I'm too lazy to move much around. However, it is pretty impressive how customizable Rift's default is compared to WoW's.

Yeah there's very little in terms of UI customization with WoW, if you want to actually move things around you need that "Move Anything" addon.. A lot of that game has to do with addons, really, and I don't think i'd enjoy playing WoW nearly half as much if their game didn't support addons. Their default UI is gross, they should've made it more like their Diablo UI's. XD

The only thing I dislike about the wow UI is that you only get 3 hotbars on the bottom edge of the screen. Other than that it works pretty well for me (and ofc there's bartender et al).

Wow I go away for memorial weekend and have to shift through another 5 pages of posts here

I love the pic Sat, she even looks like your Avatar somewhat on here
I wouldn't mess with them, thats for sure.
Rift update for me: Once I figure out why my monitor isnt working with my PC, i'm going to get the RIFT trial and try this thing out. Too hard to figure out with bootcamp and partitioning on my MAC, since my harddrive is mostly filled up with children's tv shows and the wonderful 25gb for warcraft, I don't have enough room to fit in Windows XP and RIFT. I think...
Anyone know how much space RIFT takes up when fully installed?

Edit: Also, shameless plug for my

Congrats!

My RIFT takes up nine gigabytes, so it's not that horribly large.

So before my trial ended this morning I play for three hours last night giving the game a fair shot the best I could.
My first annoyance was that on the server I'd had my Defiant character on was full and the waiting time just to get in was extremely long. So I created a new character on a different realm who was also a female Defiant mage.
I shouldn't be surprised at how like WoW and other hot key MMO'S this game is. I had very few happy surprises playing which bugged me. I had my settings on Ultra and still had issue with a white ring around anything I selected. I experienced quite a bit of lag. I joined several Rift spawn events (if that's what they're called) which I must admit were pretty cool. It was also really nice to see that level 2 mobs hit extremely hard and yes were a challenge. My only gripe was that in the zones I was in mobs respawned extremely fast and I died once simply because I couldn't get away from how fast they were respawning. But I survived it and moved forward. Certain things came very easy other things were like "Huh? What?". Mostly everything was little nit picky annoyances that just bugged me. The final straw for me was that I had to look up in the "Help" section to figure out how to swim. I am sure this wouldn't have bugged most people but to me that was the straw that broke the camel's back on the game. With that I exited the game and deleted it.
I can see, for some, this game being extremely good and a lot of fun. But for me ............. nope. There was ZERO immersion for me in the game to which really sucked. So there were a lot of things that to me made me say no to buying the game. I did as I said and gave it a really good shot with an open mind but it just didn't work out.

Good review, even though I'll still try this game, all games aren't for everyone. I personally still think my favorite time ever in a MMO was in Phantasy Star Online with my SEGA Dreamcast on a 56k modem connection. That game was free to play online too which made it even more amazing. Too bad they didn't continue that trend with Phantasy Star Universe...
