Fel has her choice between the pink dragonhawk or the green scorpid. Both scorpids could be found in Kalimdor, so I figured I'd give them a shot. It was just a hop, skip, and teleport to Uldum from Stormwin--where was the portal?
It turned out I never did Uldum. Which meant I didn't have the portal. So I figured I'd try Hyj--oh right, I did Vashj'ir. Well then. Not quite willing to quit on Toxx or Madexx, I knew it was time to find a boat. Luckily, the boat to Kalimdor was at the dock, and didn't leave in the time I was flying down, so I was soon on a bird. All the way down to Silithus. Which, in case you were curious, is probably something like a two, three minute flight. After all this, one of those damn scorpids had better be there.

Of course.
I had just about a snowball's chance in hell that Madexx, of any color, would be up. But for the sake of SCIENCE, I made my way to Uldum.

What do you know, he's not up!
In resignation, I knew I had to hunt down the violet dragonhawk. Tempest Keep or SMV were my options, and I opted for SMV. Taming the dragonhawk wasn't difficult, what with the odd 15-18 levels I had on it. My hearth was still down for another 5 minutes, so I took some time to study the dragonhawk. Dragonhawk became Ruby, after the demon.

Dragonhawks are fairly sturdy models, very flowy and elegant. Ruby has a palish colors of the dawn sort of concept going on. The color scheme is pretty, don't get me wrong, but I'm more of a Dusk kind of person. (do u c wut i did thar) The models themselves are well animated, and I don't really have any complaints.

Dragonhawks share their buff with wind serpents, increasing magic damage on a target by 5% or so. Another spell that would be great for a surv hunter, and a lot less useful for a Marks hunter like I am. Despite that, I figured I'd let Ruby accompany my exploration of the Jade Forest some more. We were ordered to practice amongst the other monks--not that I was any good at it. Ruby was rather unimpressed about the whole affair.

Eventually, we got to do some sort of fighting, even if it was practice duels. Ruby has two attack animations--a tail swipe and a dive.

She also breathes fire, as part of her ability.

In all honesty, though, I already have Tessa, who takes care of the buff. And Ruby was awfully snarky to me, breathing gusts of fire to antagonize me and being rude to Cas. I wasn't surprised she wanted to bail and be released to the wild. She preferred the forests of Pandaria to the smogs of Shadowmoon, so I accommodated her wishes and let her go.
