Bloodtooth video is up!

Includes a comparison shot of him and the regular red dragon turtle.

I just witnessed something that made my heart hurt. I may have to revisit Patrannache's map. I found him near the eastern stop point. I had promised him to someone in guild so I was following Pat as he walked from his eastern point. He took a DIFFERENT path. The guildie showed up so they tamed (grats!) but I took a screenshot showing Pat taking a completely different path. Notice the place on the map and the direction, he is NOT heading to the river at the same point.

Troll bird strikes again!

New evidence

Looks more like you just marked the map a little too close to his end point to me. O_o

Like, instead of hugging the hill on the map, he could travel the water then curve around to the other side of the hill?

That makes sense.

I hope that's the case.

I don't even want to think about remapping, oh god.

I luckily kept all the old screenshots I took when I made the original map, because I thought that too. But on the original, when he is walking toward the eastern stop point, he comes no where near cliff or this part of the river. He crossed the river at the island.

Here is a collection of the maps from some of the screenshots showing him clearly not walking near that part of the river (my character icon is floating pretty much on top of him, maybe a little behind. I took a SS every 5-10 seconds).

I am gonna follow him again, I have to know whats up with this. I spent hours with him, I know he didnt go near this cliff. Me and this stupid bird have history lol

Another comparison shot, and the direction he was heading. Left is today, the position and the direction, the right is a close by original.

Image

Edit: Another visual of the path. From my old screenshots, the red is generally where he walks when he is walking to the east end point. The blue is the path I observed walking away from it. Way different. What worries me is if he can change path here, he can do it god knows where else. His tracks are hard enough to find, let alone changing lanes on us lol. Plus, my inaccuracy and assumption with my previous map bugs me. :)

Well I am happy to announce that I followed Pat walking FROM his eastern spawn point and he followed the map perfectly up to and crossing the island in the stream. He ended up tamed shortly there after. It still doesnt explain why he veered off course in that screenshot, i mean its clear as day he was off course. Makes me nervous.

Maybe because you were watching and he was trolling you?

I wouldn't put it past him.

So this just in: if you turn your liquid detail settings down to fair, you can more easily spot tracks that are underwater. If you go to the lowest setting, however, you won't be able to see through the water at all. I've updated the first post accordingly.

I've followed Pat round too for my map, the left half of the path is from you Quiv, but the right half is where I followed him and tweaked my stroke to where he was on the map every few seconds. It's like your map. So, just another head's up for your map being right and troll bird being troll *hugs*

That has to be it. However I know this is merely code at work, and that screenshot is an anomaly. Anomalies bug me. Trolling anomaly bird

Also good to know about the water settings. Good catch.
