Oh I 100% agree it was the best of them all, don't get me wrong, but I wanted more of the dinobots as the trailer led me to believe they were the main focus and really they weren't. They also just seemed like voiceless add ons rather than powerful comrades (the real grimlock would not of given Optimus a pony ride XD ) I dunno they could of done alot more imo, hope the next one involves them abit more.

I actually couldn't care less about the Dinobots & personally glad they didn't have a lot of screen time. They're highly overrated to me.
l mostly hope the next movie will go over the new Autobots & their backgrounds, as no one who watched the movie would know that Drift was originally a 'Con.

Two movies:
Transformers: Age of Extinction... I thought it was far better than any of the previous Transformers films. But that isn't saying much, I thought the other films were garbage. EDIT: I hate saying a film is "garbage"... but in the case of most of Michael Bay's output, he puts so much effort into making films that are nothing but loud, flashy, 2-hr long explosions, that it's hard to take his cinematic output seriously. I guess if you like that sort of brainless popcorn movie (and I HAVE been known to like them on occasion) it's fine. There's simply no way to take his films in any way "seriously". His characters are cardboard cutouts, barely 2-dimensional, his dialogues are barely functional. The only thing his films have going for them is lots of explosions and excellent special effects. Even his camera work is awful.
Speaking just for my own experience of his films, I have yet to find myself feeling any sympathy for any of his characters. (I feel the same way about Guillermo Del Torro's films... love the movies, but find his characters cold and unappealing)
2nd film
I finally got to see Aronovsky's "Noah" tonight. I went into it expecting some sort of biblical mega-spectacle disaster-porn popcorn movie. Not at all what I was expecting. Fantasy, biblical, or whatever, it was absolutely brilliant film-making of the highest order. I liked the twists on the "original" story. Who would have imagined the character of Noah as suffering from PTSD. And yet it works.
But the imagery, the iconography, the visual language Aronovsky uses as building blocks for the film, are abso-friggen-lutely genius. I guess it's a film for people who are into the beauty of film, rather than those who just go into a movie for the story, or to be "entertained". This is "film as art".
And I thought Hermione was incredible. Her performance blew me away.

I've been dying to see that one.
it was SUPPOSED to go direct to video here, there was a DVD/BluRay release date and all, then it started doing well on the festival circuit and it's in art-house theatres now. so the DVD release is postponed.

Went to see HTTYD2... for a third time. x'3
And I believe we're off to see Guardians of the Galaxy sometime next week or the week after. I'm 90% sure I won't like it but it's worth a watch I guess.

Just saw Guardians of the Galaxy for my birthday. Loved it! Recommend seeing it for sure. I was a bit skeptical when i first started seeing trailers but they won me over in time and i did not regret it. They have some pretty fun characters in the mix. Loved Rocket's sarcasm and simply fell in love with Groot and his somewhat innocent kindness.
Also i really just enjoyed the look off all their various ships.

Saw Guardians of the Galaxy earlier this evening. IT WAS AMAZING! I found myself getting attached to all the characters (which rarely happens in a film like this) and I was intrigued by the various ship designs. The comedy was absolutely golden, not too little, not too much, juuuuust right.

tonight: "Je s'appele Groot!" (yes, saw it in French, and for some odd reason, they bungled up the syntax in French)
absolutely loved it. it lived up to my expectations.

SO I SAW GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY TONIGHT AND AS I EXPECTED IT WAS SH-- No... No I was wrong. It wasn't shit. It was actually pretty good.
I'm not ashamed to admit my instincts were wrong and that I actually enjoyed it. The trailers did nothing for me but I actually really quite liked it. If only for Rocket and Groot. ♥

I loved GotG. I read the comics a long time ago. I find it funny that this movie was a roaring success, and I knew it would be, when so many people were like "Oh these are Marvel nobodies. This movie is gunna suck. It's too comedic. Where's the action." People sometimes though. I was super pumped when they even announced this would be made a movie, way back when, I'm a huge fan of Groot and Rocket. I also happen to find Peter Quill especially lovable and adorkable. It doesn't help that the first time I read the comics, I was instantly reminded of my boyfriend... Who we will just say might as well be a Starlord clone. XD
Interesting tidbit is that Rocket really can understand Groot because his hearing is so well. Groot is actually talking when he says "I am Groot" but because his vocal cords are wooden, like the rest of him, it's very high pitched. The only three words that he can say that we can hear though are obviously "I am Groot".

GotG was fine. It was I have to admit a bit too long. I dunno I'm not liking how movies are just getting longer and longer

I half expected the Skrulls to show up in GotG at least as some background extras. Then again who knows they are shapeshifters after all!

The skrull copyright belongs to a different studio, so they won't appear in any GotG film.
As for length, I rather like my films to be long... as long as they are GOOD.
Transformers 4 was nearly 3 hours, and it should have been an hour and a half.
Lots of other films were an hour and a half and I'd have gladly sat through an extra hour and a half.
For me, GotG was a tiny bit too short. I'd have liked just a touch more character development and origin.
I loved it, but I loved it enough that I really wanted more.
