Pit of Saron can be rough, but no where near as bad as HoR. Tanks leave on sight, healers leave after dying from bad tanks, tanks leave after dying from bad healers, and it all happens in a more rapid fashion then normal, since you'll know by wave five whether or not your group is going to be able to do most of the instance. And there is always a chance that, even if you clear the first two bosses, your group won't be able to DPS down the adds before the Lich King reaches you. I really enjoy the place, but damn it's a pain to find a skilled/geared enough group for it.
Kalli, last I'd heard, Pit and Halls both accept gear levels that may not be up to par. Actually, I am pretty sure Forge of Souls does too, since I was taken there on my holy paladin when I KNOW I wasn't gear ready. We finished it anyway, but that's probably because we had a good group, and I'm actually used to working as a gimped healer.

Doing the Quel'Sarar quest, the part in H HoR.
You take the sword in, it spawns an elite sword. Maybe as tough as a trash mob.
Tank refused to tank it, saying "why the hell you brought in random people for this".
I tanked it fine in DPS gear and frost presence, but after it was dead the tank left saying "I hope you all rot waiting for another tank".
We waited 3 minutes.

On the reverse, I hate people who come into HoR and ask you to help them kill that mob, and then just leave.
But yes, if some one leaves and you reque, it que's you at the top of the line, and that's a ton better then waiting forever as a DPS.

ABSOLUTELY agreed on HoR. The only reason our Pit run hadn't gone well was because those two jerks didn't want to play nice.

HoR is, as a rule, far worse with pugs. And yeah, the gear requirements had to have been dropped or the mechanism was broken. >_< Or something. Good work fighting through it!
In happier news, my friend and I were queued into PoS again yesterday (and laughed heartily, since neither of us will EVER see that instance the same way again), the first time we'd done it since The Incident. There were absolutely no problems at all - in fact, he got the crossbow on his hunter, since he happily was on the right toon for it.

It didn't hurt that I'd had a gear upgrade or two as well beforehand either. >_>

Funnily enough I just got out of a H PoS run today that wasn't exactly great. First time healing on my caster druid since level 70, and the group looks decent. We get the pat with the skeleton pack, and after the bone wardens are dead, the tank just runs off to the next pull rather than even try to tank the caster, leaving a poor Spriest to tank and DPS it down while I worked to keep both of them up. His only comment was to the tune of "You should run this way because you're just DPS."
After they were down he grabs a bone warden and starts running, and the Spriest starts DPSing and gets it... then he doesn't even try getting it back. I try and heal through it but it gets the priest and the rogue before the tank comes back and picks it up in addition to the other mobs he had. After that's all dead, the tank yells at the DPS for DPSing when he was trying to group them up, calling them "mindless DPS" while the DPS yelled at the tank for not picking it back up.
Boss fight goes ok, then Ick trash and Ick wasn't horrible either. On the ramp up though, rogue gets one-shot somehow, tank makes another "mindless DPS" comment, then the rogue speaks up saying the hill order sucked, and the tank just goes "lol, it's all AoE." After making it through the rest of the instance without any deaths, the tank throws a backhanded compliment, again calling them mindless, and as soon as the last loot roll went, so did all the DPS, shortly followed by myself.
The DPS was at fault with the early DPS on that one pull, but all the rest was the tank being a "rockstar" as the guy over on BigBearButt put it and disregarding the rest of the team. Not exactly the best thing to try and heal when I hadn't healed on a druid for a couple months, and as I said, since level 70.

Sounds like a crappy tank, to be sure.
Hopefully you get some more reasonable instances!

Well, I chalk this up to my husband not telling me what he does when I'm at work. And thusly annoying me (in this case INFURIATING me) when, for some strange reason, when he tells me he'll never roll on something if it drops, he rolls anyway juuuuuuust to prove a point. And usually, with his hack dice, wins outright by a clear mile. We group regularly now for ZG runs. I want the Raptor and Tiger mounts - Tiger mostly, I think it's gorgeous. Raptor would be a good afterthought and one less boss, mind, which is always a plus. You would think after asking him and nagging him and going with him and him hearing my verbal disappointment every. single. damned. time. it doesn't drop would have been the lightbulb going off in his head. You would think, right?
Case in point:
I've been after the Zulian Tiger since I started on WoW. I've seen it drop oooh about twice. Lost both rolls. Always kicked myself. It's Laz's one dream to finally get that mount. You'd think after 5 years of running ZG I'd have given up on it at least a few times >_>;
I'm at work on Friday, all day, it's a pretty godawful day. I ask the hubby to please not run ZG because I'd like to cash in my "he owes me a run" card when I get home that night. I get home at the end of the day, leap on Warcraft, only for hubby to avoid playing the entire night. Now here's the thing - he knows my password, I know his - I get the inkling feeling he ran ZG on either his rogue or his druid. My bets are on the druid, his solo beast. I confront him asking did he run ZG without me. He feverently denies that he has and that he just wants to play his PS3. When he does this, he's hiding something. He's like a well-read book after almost eight years of marriage.
Some time ago, he told me, to my face, in a run we were on, he wasn't going to roll on the Blue Proto Drake. He knew we were on a run where the guys in our guild had the mount except us two. He rolled 100 on it. I rolled a 26. Instead of being what he promised to be and hand the mount over to me after feverently proclaiming that whilst the drake "looked cool, it wasn't for his druid", idiot right-clicked it deliberately and learned it. I was in the same room, behind him, when that happened. He got a Gibbs-styled slap for that. He slept on the couch for about a fortnight before I forgave him for that stunt. I was about 5 world achieves away from my Violet at the time and I was pretty pissed so avoidance became second nature to my husband who had dabbled in a hunter but never gone past level 30.
I log onto the rogue, pot around on her and check her mounts. Fortunately she only has 8 mounts and the ZG Tiger would have stood out on her panel. Then I go check his druid. And I notice something in her invent, in the last bag. It's a raptor icon. A raptor MOUNT icon.
Hovering over it, it says "Swift Zulian Raptor".
Claws on desk moment. Typically, he doesn't tell me beans when something I want drops and I'm not there. He won't even break it gently. He just won't tell me outright. He leaves it up to me to find out the hard way and deal with it then. Usually I'm indifferent. This morning...not so much. As an afterthought, I check his druid's mount panel. Why I do this to torment myself, I don't know. I think I married a masochist because he tends to enjoy me getting angry a touch too much. What's to bet the one goddamned run he goes on without me and with the guild's resident mount bitch, our Boomkin druid who I once competed with for the 100 mounts guild challenge, THAT BOTH MOUNTS DROP AND HE ******* WINS THEM BOTH?!
The current mount his druid is using is the Swift Zulian Tiger.
I went into the kitchen, made myself an iced chocolate, and he made the mistake of trying to hug me and apologise and say somehow it was better that our guild's mount whore didn't win them and that he was going to break it me gently in the car ride home but "casually forgot".
I didn't get to drink that iced chocolate, mind.

I have had many bad runs but the most recent one was on my war.
So I was tanking...
I got into a group in the middle of WC. Okay, that's good... I think to myself.
But the problem is.... THE. ROGUE. WON'T. STOP. PULLING!!! >.<
He doesn't use stealth, he doesn't wait for anyone, and every time I ask him to stop pulling he just says "NO U" (no, JK

What he acctually says is "you learn to tank" or something like that)
Well, we finally get to the tree guy, and the rogue runs up and pulls before I was ready! Well, naturaly, he dies, and starts berating me! >:(
/Sigh...
Ah well...

Sometimes I just want to strangle people; because evidently if it doesn't have mp5 on it or spirit, it's evidently DPS GEAR ONLY! Just, I've seen people take healer gear from me and I have been unable to complain or claim any right for it, because Coal is a drood, he should be rolling for leather, not cloth. Especially once he hit wrath. But he's had to roll for cloth boots, I've had to fight against dps rolling for my healer gear. Not everyone is curtious enough to see if healer needs and sometimes I have sorely needed.
So a ring drops in Gundrak; specifically Arcane Focal Signet. Granted it is a dps ring but tbh it has no hit, it could easily slide both ways and it's not like it's heroic gear mind you, so again, what :/
But the best response ever by the guy was. Dunno why a HoT healer needs haste. IDK MAYBE BECAUSE I HAVE REJUV GLYPH AND I HAVE TO SPAM REGROWTH SOMETIMES D:
You know in between having to spam everything to over heal a tank when he's tanking in dps gear; or when Rejuv isn't enough and I have to spam regrowth on the party.
As it's happened.
It's happened more times than I want to admit.

I hate tanking these days >_> In my groups DPS always;
1. Pull mobs before I get halfway to them
2. Need everything
3. Decide to tank when I AFK to the loo even though they are a mage -.-
And healers just let me die. Once one didnt heal me, Was right next to me, Full of mana. And I just died. He wasent even casting anything. Plus, He didnt ress me so I had to run back and get to them. THEN; The mage pulls a bunch of mobs as I re-enter the instance, And we wipe. -.-
Edit; Just to let you know, I tank on my DK, Not my hunter. I can't even choose to tank as a hunter.

Clearly he has no idea how a resto druid's mechanics work, considering once we have a decent amount of mana regen, haste becomes our second-best stat. A better question would have been "Why would a HoT healer need crit?" Of course, since it's a heroic drop I doubt it even had enough stat points to itemize for crit... (didn't bother to take the time to look it up on wowhead xD)

Healers can also use critical. Especially me. I love critical. I am very old school with meh paladin.
Are healers getting worse? Or is that just me? I've had bad healers, but now days, I am having healers who DON'T HEAL!

People are getting dumber because the game is getting easier and people can't be bothered learning even the bare minimum.
Anyone unaware of druids needing to hit the haste cap before starting to toss in crit for nourish/regrowth doesn't really know their stuff about resto druids these days, like the aforementioned druid in H PoS. Of course, telling pugs they're ignorant to their faces generally doesn't go over well, but at least you know you have the high ground.

*Twitches* "I am going to que healer to get in faster! Then I am going to stand around and herp derp!" *Twitch*
Almost as bad are the DPS tanks who don't even bother to switch gear. Now, if you're hittin' thirty thousand or so hit points in DPS gear, then sure, you can manage. I am talking about the 'tanks' with less then twenty thousand hit points in heroics. Keeping those !@#ers alive is a ton of fun.

I *really* don't understand why people are against playing healers or tanks anyway. Both roles are fun too; they're just different than dps. Otherwise, just wait out the queue...

I don't tank unless I can drag Aria usually. And even then I know the pain is going to happen.
GO BEAR CHICKEN MINION. GO AND CRIT WITH STARFIRE AND MAKE ME DIE INSIDE AS YOU EASILY RIP AGGRO FROM ME.
I mean good gravey I still remember the time when Aria and Tailcoy [or friend's drood] were like 99% below me on threat for Omen for a whole boss fight. Oh god I was so scared >_<
BUT.
EVEN THEN.
I AM PREPARED TO TANK.
EVEN OC. I FACE SMASH IT. Repeatedly.
And just pray.
It's why I don't understand these .... idiots, either. And I have to use the term idiot, I mean have had dps come in as healers and tank and either dick about dangerously so or just not do their job right. IE min max shammy healer, letting me dip to bleeding 2k hp on VH trash because 'oh if I crit for 23k hp that'll be a waste of mana!' and here I am slowly dying and going oom as the sucker is bleeding me dry both ways.
Or for Coal; tanks coming in on DPS and doing massive pulls, like GUNDRAK.
ON.
SNAKES.
oh god you have never seen more frantic regrowths than what I've done, he was squashing worse than a tank that accidently pulled the troll pat past Dred, causing me to have to heal the tank thru 7 mobs.
I mean on one hand yes I understand how boring healing dungeons in northrend can be, I now know that most northrend dungeons can't even begin to compare to the hellish Botanica run I had just for an alch quest. Where the opnly thing that prevented 7 outta 9 wipes, was the fact Coal was so over leveled at the time [75].
But I mean even I throw Rejuv and Regrowth on tank and while I do tab on trash fights as for the most part it's simply spam 1/2 hot on tank, wg on dps, and I can chat with Aria as THERE IS NOTHING ELSE FOR ME TO DO.
I don't go /afk on boss fights, i don't afk and let the tank reach 20% hp unless I lag spike. Oh god lag spikes.
I mean on one hand I can understand how... mind numbingly boring it can be to be a healer, but on the other, if you're not prepared to even do a job that requires even the most minimalist of effort [seriously press one button, profit], WHY ROLL HEALER. You can't get dungeons done if there's no healer!
Edit: Also undergeared people. I am sick, and tired, of healing undergeared scrubs that try and blame me for not healing properly. IE the oh so nice tank from AN who had lv 60 gear. And blamed me for wipes when I was Webbed, Silenced and DEAD.

That's not min maxing.
That's stupid.
Shammy healers with decent gear can essentially healing stream totem their way through heroics these days, with minimal amounts of actual healing. Zzzz.
