I'm on Northern Shiverpeaks. I haven't played any beta so I have no idea what I'm doing and it's a bit confusing. Not sure I understand the classes yet, but the one I've played the most is elementalist. I'm a bit interested in the guardian class though, since I'm usually a healer and it seems like some kind of protector class.

That's the best part! :D I'm never a fan of playing betas because I feel it spoils what I will eventually be paying for. Going into something fresh and new is so exciting!

Hee, don't worry, I feel just as lost essentially. This is the first MMO besides WoW that I've ever seriously tried, so I have all my WoW habits getting in the way, but I don't mind. It's fun not knowing where you're going or what you're doing, there's a giant new world to explore, and I was a newb in WoW once, so I'm sure I'll figure things out eventually.

I'm also as clueless as the next person. I was thoroughly disinterested in the game, up until about 3 weeks ago. I pre-purchased it as a last-minute, spur of the moment decision; so I too missed all of that fancy-beta-stuffs. x3

I love that "being a newb" feeling, makes things all the more enjoyable. (like I'm probably playing this toon completely backwards, but I don't care!)

I remember feeling pro when i reached the free-to-play limit at level 20 :p

And yeah, WoW is the only MMO I've played.

I'm discovering some healing abilities with my elementalist so hopefully I can do something like that in PvP. I'm not sure how it is to bea healer in pvp in gw but at least there's no "healers must die" addon(yet) :p

Yeah it's "real" now so it's better. Still makes me feel like a noob compared to others though.
I do remember it taking some time with WoW to understand stats and everything too. I do think I wore cloth on my resto druid in hellfire ramparts with some agility thing as well :p

I have a Sylvari Engineer but I may switch to an elementalist. I am really not sure yet. I really feel so noob-y but I really enjoy the look and feel of this game. Amazon still hasn't gotten my copy to me yet. I was supposed to get release date delivery but...yeah...about that...

If anyone was familiar with my dreadsaber Azzam (who is shrinking to minipet form in MoP), I decided to have him live on in GW2 as a Charr Thief! :) A rogue class seemed appropriate for a cat. ^^

Installing my copy as we speak. :D It finally arrived!

I love Charr, especially the female ones, but I love the crazy amount of fur patterns and colours you can give them. I'm not sure what to play first though, I love everything! D:

I'm loving how different weapons give different skills. I rolled a guardian that has fighting and healing skills but depending on what weapon I use, mace/sword-shield, mace/sword-focus, great sword, hammer, and staff I get different things to work with. Of the weapon combos I've been using the hammer and staff. Hammer when I'm soloing and when I encounter an event with usually 6 or more people, I just switch over to the staff and heal.

Two other pleasant things I've noticed is that though mobs can be tagged by anyone, that unless you're in trouble or the mob is involved with an event, people will generally let you take down the mob yourself. And if you die during an event, or just questing, someone will revive you saving the need to having to run back from the Way point you had to rez at. (Though I think there's some type of karma bonus for those who rez you.)

Looks like I have to wait. The game keeps causing my entire PC to crash about 5-10 minutes in, sometimes longer if I set the graphics down low. It's really annoying that not only did the game arrive late but it doesn't even want to work. :/ *Sigh* I've sent a message to ANet about it but they've got plenty of problems to deal with right now...

Edit: Mightactuallypossiblyhaveitworkingnow. Yay.

Can I ask what kind of PCs people are running this game off? Mine should be above the limit to run it but I'm getting PC crashes all the damn time because of it. Really annoying. :/

I'm running my game on the Hp-Pavillion p6-2134w with Windows 7, AMD Radeon graphics card, and 8 GB DDR3. Could a file have become corrupted that's causing the crash?

I think it's my GPU overheating. There's a lot of people having this problem. My GPU gets as high as 105 degrees and I know that's not good.

Ouch. Maybe a temp. solution but have you tried playing with the side cover off to relieve some of the heat to try to get some game play in?

I cleaned out the fans today and it seems to have cooled the GPU down a lot. Still getting major lag issues in game, but there's nothing I can do about that. It's all up to ArenaNet to allow some proper support for Nvidia GeForce GPUs and drivers now. (There have been lag problems with these types of GPUs reported all over the place, even on some of the very up-to-date ones.)

My friend is livestreaming GW2 and I went from "Meh" to "I MUST HAVE THIS GAME". It does run on Mac, yes? Please?

Unfortunately there's no official support for Macs, though I think there's alternative ways to do it somehow? I don't know of them though.

Bound to be a work around for Macs.
