I dont like tumblr, but I've heard stuff doesn't actually sell as good on tumblr as you'd think. So tumblr won't really solve the issue.

Honestly, it's incredibly disappointing that I have to get an account on another site just to get much done without market sniping.

Yea I was gonna say, even on tumblr things won't ever sell if you're not really all that known in the tags :\ I've tried multiple times to sell dragons on tumblr and it's been a no-go each time.

I dislike Tumblr a lot and won't make an account there just to sell my dragons which is something I should be able to do without going off-site anyway... :/

I find myself either keeping hatchlings I really like, offering them to friends/you guys and if no one wants them, I name them and exalt them myself. I would rather do that than have someone buy all my newly hatched cheap hatchlings to just exalt them without having even named them. That really upsets me the most. :/

It depends on your exposure on Tumblr. For me, it's one of the main reasons I enjoy FR, because the community there can be a lot of fun once you weed out the bad people. I've made lots of friends there and I'd say a good 50% of my sales are because of Tumblr sales posts (I sell a majority of what I hatch). Just posting 'em in the tag won't work, though, you need to really dig into the community and make yourself a name.

Honestly, until exalting becomes accepted and enticing, no amount of new people or advertising will do much. New people? Temporary fix, they fill up their lairs. Endless lairs? ...Practically impossible data wise, and also a temporary fix because many players just don't want that many dragons, so they wouldn't do any more buying. In fact, it would probably make things worse, because there would be even more dragons breeding non-stop.

There will ALWAYS be too many dragons. And there is no way that every single dragon will get bought. There just aren't enough players that really want more dragons. What we need is a way to get rid of dragons that feels almost as rewarding as selling. Right now, unless you're selling dragons for crazy low prices, exalting is a drop in profit over selling- we need something that makes it perhaps not as treasure-wise profitable, but worthwhile in some other way. People have mentioned an exalt-only currency with breed change scrolls and such stuff- that would be wonderful.

But until then, they can open registration as long as they want, and give us lairs as big as possible, and it's not going to do anything.

It's got what I like to call "small community syndrome" just like the FR community.

Unless you have 'fans' on Tumblr, you won't sell your dragons - and it seems incredibly unfair that we have to start a fan army, and I don't like defining myself that way - I like breeding random things, there's no set theme.

What about a reputation currency? So the more you exalt (and match the bonuses), the more 'favour' you gain with your deity. These points can then be exchanged for items, familiars, genes - heck, they could do specific ones for each element. Sounds like a lot of artist work? The community is CRAMMED with talented, imaginative artists - they really should tap into more than 'colour in the familiar' and skins. Nature could have a flowering tertiary gene, a little fawn familiar and potions that boost the strength of nature dragons (this would encourage more people to pvp in the arena too!). If you have dominance, the amount of favour gained is again boosted - thereby continuing the epic dominance battles! These items should be bind on pickup - hence, the only way to get the genes would be to buy the dragon with them - no overpriced scrolls on the AH. The familiars are rewards to those loyal to their element, not those with the most cash. Would also help people be more serious with their clan choice - other than eye colour and friend location, unless you RP then there's no reason to give deep thought to your element choice.

Sigh. Until they fix the exalt payouts, then even open registration won't fix a thing.

The system needs a BIG overhaul, and I'm not sure the admins even realize it.

I like you're idea a lot! I also think lowering the cost of lair expansions would help a great deal.

I'd really like exalting to be worth more, and not even in treasure as has been mentioned.

Extra gathering turns? Earn a 'lost egg'? (unhatched gen1 of your clan), exalt-currency exclusive genes... all of these would make exalting worth more. Even to the point where people would save to exalt.

Also having to wait until a dragon grows up bogs things the hell down because babies are worth crap-all unless their color shows up in the lottery, which is never, and so people are forced to clot up their lairs even with dragons they don't want because you can't level them until they're grown. I suggested 'babies can be leveled in the colosseum to Lv5' in a post but even though it got support, there was a lot of unfounded, unjustified haters too 'cause I'm not one of the Forum Elite.

came back for a brief period after I got a personal request to breed my tree dancers and while I was there I scraped together enough treasure to buy some genes for a monarch style fae project I have been working on... only to use the genes on a similar looking dragon by mistake that I was planning to exsalt. *facepalm* there goes all my treasure.

It is almost like they're playing that "if we can't see it, it doesn't exist" thing. As long as there's people who say the system isn't broken, they're going to side with that side of the fanbase and not listen to those who think it needs an overhaul. :/
I'm pretty sure that any "please fix exalting/dragon prices" suggestion board will get flooded with "everything is fine, stop complaining!!" posts [sighs]

Been stalking a seafoam/white/white WC girl all day yesterday (or at least as much a possible between loss of Internet connection and random power-outs) to see if she would go up for sale. Isn't she amazing?

OMFG Ice were winning on the dominance list ALL FREAKING WEEK and who wins?! Plague. AGAIN. URRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. Ice hasn't won once since I joined. :/

Nature won once during our holiday, although apparently some people were going to try for it anyway. :3 And I'll send any exalts your way if Ice pushes again this week.

Thank you for the offer but there's no huge need to do that. I just want to see Ice win. x'D According to the Wiki, Ice is one of the most dominating flights overall, but ever since I joined about two months or so ago I haven't seen them win once yet and this is third (?) time Plague has magically pushed through. Fiancé's in Plague so he's happy at least. xD
