You guys have no idea how mad I was when I realised the UK were one of the last countries to get Wreck-It Ralph. I believe we got it about 3-4 months after the USA did? It was so hard to avoid spoilers... It became my favourite film in an instant, but god, that wait was painful! Now you (kind of) know how we feel! xD (Obv not a direct rant at anyone here.)

I mean sure, I can watch things online. It would've been dead easy to find a stream. But when it's a film I already know I'm going to love, I'd much rather wait and see it in the cinema. *Shrug*

But yeah, that mini-rant isn't directed at anyone here, though it is nice to brag sometimes about being able to get things before the USA, since it so very rarely happens. ^-^

Well that's not really nice to say "Now you know how we feel." none of us said we DIDN'T know how you felt. As for spoilers well let's not even go there as accuse America of being the only spoilers in the world. It's the Internet they're gunna be out there you just have to accept it as try to avoid them. I've seen just as many spoilers from Europe especially pertaining to things I like that're from Europe. It's a two way street and I get annoyed when people constantly pin bad things on Americans.

I'm only ranting about it because it's not fair. >___< It's not like the UK's an unknown country and it's not like they need to translate the language first...

And to be honest, I've had my fair share of ranting about this same topic elsewhere just to be laughed at by Americans. Soooo... I think I'm allowed my rant... in the rant thread...

And to be honest when you say it "isn't" fair you're contradicting yourself. Youre happy that you get something before we do(Iron Man 3 AND the Avengers)but that just means it isn't fair to us. Same language and all. And to be honest I don't think venting about a "type" of people is allowed. I don't go ranting about Europeans. You're generalizing based on the fact some people have laughed at you but not everybody has. It's a rant thread true but there are limits.

Just went to get some breakfast and someone had put some mail for me outside my door, it was the phone case I ordered about two days ago. Nice to see it arrived so fast but it made me realise... I bought some blindbag figures off someone about two weeks ago and they told me they had sent them off then too... So where the hell are they?! Only just realised they never arrived, where the crap could they have gone? :/ No idea who to contact about it either since I live at the uni halls and my uni mailing system is kinda retarded.

Dragon click sites. PEOPLE ARE SO FUCKING GREEDY! I offer my rarest dragons as currency to get an older event dragon and yet I can't get one. The greedy part? THEY HAVE OVER 40 OF THEM! Surely you can let one go can you? But no. You sit there showing off your shit to other people that can't have it. Then you say "should have joined the site sooner" I didn't know about it last year ass wipe.

Oh it's way worse here. We got ParaNorman like a YEAR after the rest of the world. A FUCKING YEAR (It was out on dvd in the UK before we got it ) o.O Most of the time we get things at least 3 weeks after everyone else. It's only the super duper big ones that we sometimes get at the same time but we get all the Peter jackson ones first but I think he fights to get them out here first.

I guess I'm used to being behind the rest of the world >.>

Dear the massive fucking cunt that decided it would be a good idea to rip open my mail and steal two of my figurines, fuck you. Sadly for you, they're not really worth much and it won't be hard for me to buy them again, but just because the package didn't have anyone's name on it doesn't mean it was a good idea to tear it apart and steal the things instead. So you stole two out of the four MLP figures I had delivered. That's pretty fucking sad, isn't it? Stealing MLP toys? At least now I know never to get mail sent here again. I'll send it to my mum's house or something instead from now on.

Yes, I am talking about the same mail as I was yesterday that didn't seem to be showing up. Well my friend brought it in for me after looking inside since there was no name on the front and said he figured it was mine since there were ponies inside. But the package was completely torn up like a fucking dog had been at it or something and there were only two of the four ponies inside. I left a 'nice' message on the wall by the front door, basically saying that they're not worth anything and that it would be nice if I could get them back. I was so, so tempted to be threatening, but I know I could get in trouble with the hall warden for that. I hate living in this building full of stupid drunk fucks. So glad I'm moving out in two months into my own place with people I trust.

Foreign TV shows used to be like that back home... 70s and 80s stuff like The Six Million Dollar Man, Mork and Mindy, LA Law, etc. would be shown a year (or two) after they were really popular in the US. When we actually came over I used to send home care packages with taped episodes of TNG, Voyager, DS9 and that, and the SO and our geeky friends would devour them because they weren't on there yet. There used to be just one cable channel that just showed movies.

Nowadays the SO has gone completely bonkers over Game of Thrones and somehow managed to finagle HBO into our cable sub cheap, but before that I used to wait patiently for the previous season of True Blood to air on the local SF channel. Maybe that was just as well, the current state of things on that show is meh.

What's it's like in NZ for US network shows like Supernatural, NCIS, Bones, Touch, Spartacus, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Walking Dead, etc.? Do you get them on time with cable or is there still a forced wait?

We have a channel called Soho that has all those shows "a day after America" but it costs a arm and a leg to get. We get True Blood quicker then most as Anna Paquin is from NZ (but I think she was born in Canada). But things like NCIS, Bones and Breaking Bad we tend to have to wait 4 or so months. I know we are behind on Bones as when mum and dad had their American road trip last year she watched some of the new eps they are showing now

Hm, not too bad then, compared to a year or more. Some shows like King of the Nerds get delayed a week. Recently I discovered Skins (the original with Kaya Scodelario), and a couple of years ago I kind of got into 2 Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps... and whenever I make that kind of discovery I do have that "so that's what it's like for them" kind of feeling.

King of the Nerds we don't have that here. Sometimes shows just pass us by. Like MLP:FIM lol
