You know, there really isn't anything in WoW that creeps me out or makes me uneasy. Maybe it's from being desensitized by all the horror films and other stuff that I grew up watching, maybe it's from playing these games for too many years, or maybe I just have a mad, insane brain. Even the "room of upside down sinners" didn't freak me out, it just vaguely reminded me of one of Hell's tortures from Dante's Inferno where the Simonists were placed upside down in a rock and had their feet set on fire. I know, the similarities are few, but the name of the room made me think of that.

On a side note, I did notice from the *Creepy things in WoW 2* video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeMGlxFg ... re=related ) that the "Goldshire Children" formed the rough shape of a pentagram while standing outside. Below is a picture I took from the video along with lines I added after taking a screen shot.

It was an homage to Big Trouble in Little China. I don't think you can get there any more. In hindsight, I should've tried to get in there back in the day, even though it was a forbidden area.

Because they like spawn at a certain time run around, run upstairs in the house and form a pentagram. o.o

I just found another place that's got all the more creepier after the Shattering, the Quel'Lithien Lodge.

Featured in the WoW fanfic contest winning story "In the Shadow of the Sun", and apparently considered official lore, since Blizz is due to post it on their Leaders Short Stories webpage, the Quel'Lithien Lodge is a region in the north of the Eastern Plaguelands, close to the border with the Ghostlands. It was home to High Elves that split from Silvermoon, abandoning and betraying their race when the Blood Elves joined the Horde.

I had a recent archeological digsite up there. All the Elves have become Wretched.

After what jerks they were to Lor'themar when he tried to make peace with them in the story, it serves them right, IMO.

Also, despite the fact I'm like, the only one who can hear it in my family, the spirit healers whisper subliminal messages to you.

"Play World of Warcraft..."
"You can pay by card..."

Google it. You'll find things.
The things the spirit healers say are actually just what you want to hear after being told they say that. I've heard they say other things too so it's just really what you want to hear from it.

OT: The Kara Crypts are pretty creepy, I loved going down there and hearing the gates creak and stuff. I like the smiley face under Kara as well. I think the "Help us! Save us!" voices from Thaddius are the creepiest for me because it makes me sad.

Scraaape, scrape...weird little crumbly, thumping noises....the occasional owl.

I sat out there for Karoma for so long it really started to bother me and I eventually muted it. Every time I fly by I get the shivers. :l

Vashj'ir never really bothered me, I don't mind swimming with whale sharks - it's just the Highlands that bother me.

Also, the add on that whispers you for Archaeology is Deadly Boss Mods. :) There's a checkbox in the options that says 'Make Archaeology More Interesting' - it plays both C'thun and Yogg-Saron quotes when you loot a keystone. Particularly funny when you have a friend over and she's out in Crystalsong and starts freaking out because she heard things. I would love to see Blizz put in something similar, though.
If im correct pyrimid hogger made that sound from a certain fanfic If I remeber correctly

I love all the eerie things in WoW, I think most have been mentioned here already. None actually scare me or creep me out, I just enjoy them for the atmosphere and appeal.

The only things that actually freak me out in game are deep water (Vashj'ir...looking at you) and sharks and such.

Actually, one of my new terrors is those horrifying sharp-toothed fish. When I was questing through Stonetalon and found the Cragjaw quest I could barely go up to it. *shudder*

My personal demon is moray eels, to the point that the first time I saw one in the flesh I ran outside the store and lost my lunch. The eels in Vash'jir aren't too close, but sometimes I'd see one out of the corner of my eye or something and jump in my seat. Hubby almost made me leave the zone.

That is just sooo wrong. lol

I'd say the crypt and sinners and Dead wind pass when you first hit it as a lvl 30 something horde. I mean why do lowbie hordies have to pass that? Oy..

Deadwind pass was a very cruel place when SoS was lvl 30's... i remember running for my life from the birds in there *shiver* their beady red eyes glowing from their skinny wiry forms, their shuddering movement as they flew as fast as they physically could towards you, the lvl ?? tag on them..

Well I actually studied the CGSC (CreepyGoldShireChildren, hehehe I made that up ^_^) at one point, I was so interested in them... and then... night came.
IIIII dont study them much anymore >.> thread help me! (is jk about help  )
And OMG WHAT AM I DOING READING THIS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT?! Heh heh... o_o;

Anyway, what research and experience has taught me:
-They form the shape of a pentagon, which can be a sign of the devil sometimes
-When you enter the room where they are located, spooky music plays (Btw their house is along the road from Northshire to Goldshire, its upstairs of the house where the skinning and fishing trainers are)
-at 7:00am every morning, they go outside until... uhm... I think 7:40... forgot sort of XD anyway...
-First they go to the SW gates, then Goldshire, then just outside of Northshire's gates by the stream
-The whole time, they're shifting around, pointing in different directions, with Cameron always in the front. Some people believe they're pointing to different locations in Elwynn Forest, making a huge pentagon. Some people believe they are pointing to other demonic people. There are lots of rumors, but nobody's been able to figure it out yet.
-There are six of them. As in 666? >.>
-Speaking of 666, if you use... um... questhelper I think? Carbonite? Whatever it was, if you track the way to Elwynn Forest border and SW border from their house... its exactly 666 yards o_o
-Btw if you shivered ur not the only one <--(has shivered herself XD)
-Once their daily round is up, and they head back to their house, after they stand in their formation for a minute... you can hear a sound. Sometimes it's a banshee. Sometimes it's a ghoul. And rarely... it's C'Thun saying "You. Will. DIE!"
-They de-spawn at 8:00pm
-Tip: IF for some reason you want to see them up and about, you can make a human on a EU server if you're US, and then you can do it in the daytime (not rlly early... which is kinda creepyish...). For me it's exactly 12:00 at noon.
-There are skulls outside in the grass of the house. They are very tiny, like... children skulls. They're hard to find though :/
-Rumors say (although I've never tested this one, so it might be a fake), that at one point when the GSC are standing in GS, they pause for awhile and point in the blacksmith house. If you go in, you can hear the exact same music as in the GSC's room, except fainter. Dunno if this is true though.
-In the Goldshire Graveyard, there used to be 6 fresh graves, although this has been changed in Cata. (Secretly, I'm a little bit glad there's one less thing like that >.>)
-Oh, extra fact. At stone cairn lake, there are those huge boulder things? They're in the shape of a pentagon too.

LOOONG post so... sorry bout that
This is why people are scared of the Goldshire Children.

Also, the ledge with the rodents with weapons that grow large and kill each other is weird too. (Northwest of Thunder Bluff) This isn't really scary though. Just... odd O_o
Many other places I could name right now...

Heh, you can avoid it by just not being on @ 7 or going in the house... I guess. >.>
I enjoyed the whole set-up... until I had this dream.... O_O

The goldshire children sounds a bit 'children of the corn'-ish to me. Possibly meant to be a homage to that.

Lol Dangerfish ftw!! I don't know why but I think those are the coolest... that alone would make me want to have aquatic hunter pets.

I was thinking that too. Isn't it like a movie with evil children who like control/enslave/something the adults?
Or is that another movie I'm thinking of...

EDIT: Wikipedia Page about Children of the Corn. Don't worry, no pictures. Hehehe. :P
Just thought this might make you see the relationship between them and the GSC...

I am -really- surprised no one has mentioned this yet...am I really the only one really freaked out by the idea of giant bugs? lol

Its a new-ish area in Western Plaguelands in the North-ish part. There are I think some quests I believe up there to help them get rid of their spider "problem".

The entire area is quite "crawling" (Hah. She said crawling, spiders, yeah. Derpderp.) with these things. Spiders. Absolutely everywhere. Could you even *IMAGINE* being in an area like that? I am an extreme sympathizer with that goblin dude in Deadmines. Spiders might not the one bug I am extremely terrified of (Wasps) but just the thought of being face to face with any of them that big... /shudder

And yes. I hate Sithilus. For...obvious reasons.
