I will admit to being annoyed when a hunter sits with a rare spawn on the spawn point and sits. And sits. And sits.

In all honesty I could have worded my post MUCH better. Much much better. I understand its not fair for people to not cart their pets around in the place they're found/quest hubs/lol capital cities but think about it(ESPECIALLY concerning the old rares). When are you ever really in wrath content anymore? Even so those zones are pretty much empty compared to the new Cataclysm zones. What are the chances you'll be passing by the basin with Loque out and you happen to sit right on top of someone who's camping him? Of course it probably happens because nothing is impossible but what are the odds?
Sliiiimmmmm to none. I guess the idea behind this post is there's a huge huge huge massive difference between just passing by/questing and doing it intentionally which I've had a handful of hunters to do me so far. Its not just this patch, it happened in wotlk too with Artcturis, Skoll, KK, etc etc. If you're questing well, that's life. That happens. But sitting by Amberpine lodge and having the same hunter sit next to you and call out Arcturis over and over? Yeah that's not someone "bonding" with their pet-It's someone trying to piss you off.
I've put in over 100 days of camp time on TLPD. 100. And not once did I have Skoll as my primary pet(on the off chance I'd dismount) because even now lots of hunters actively seek him.

^^^^ this :D I guess I could go ahead and damn everyone else but not everyone deserves it, like Vetiver. Shes been a huge help(along with a few other alliance players) and it wouldn't be fair to them. Anywho, not here to start an argument. I respect your opinions and I just wanted to share mine. Happy hunting, everyone!

Why won't Blizzard tailor this massively multi-player online RPG specifically to me!?

Yes because that is clearly what me and a few others are asking for :P How UNREASONABLE of us to try and be nice and wish others would kindly return the favor! UNBELIEVABLE! RIDICULOUS!

I KNOW RIGHT. Brb sitting in Banny's tree with Ban'thalos out for some wholesome pet bonding and hunter raging.

Oh... I didn't know it tripped NPCscan in the zone. I waited 18 hours for Deth so I've been running around everywhere with him. Sorry if I tripped NPCscans! D:

...Like I said before, and I'll say again. Huge difference between griefing someone and going about your business. Npcscans will get tripped in the molten front cos its sooo super tiny. It'll happen. I guess I'm just not being clear enough >_>

Disregard that! jesus I need to learn to read :D

:) You didn't know. But yeah, it gives a false positive to anyone with the mob data entered if you get too near the spawn point/points/paths of the pet in the wild, and if it's anything like me, that leads to a frantic rush of pulse and trying to target a rare that is not there, followed by a log and cache dump. Deth is safe to use outside the Molten Front zone. Banth will not set off scanners in Molten Front.

The thing is, NPCScan's update did not include these new rare IDs. If someone has them, then they are actively searching for the spawn, and more likely than not a fellow hunter. And it's obvious from all the threads that there are a LOT of hunters looking in Hyjal now. I don't need Banth's alert any longer, but I am going to be considerate to the ones that do. It's a few dailies out of the day, and my other 24 pets have not somehow had their value to me reduced because of a new shiny.

Oh no I did not know this! That's pretty cool. I did notice I had a bunch of rares caches that I hadn't tamed or ran into and I was like what how? The addon didn't scream in my face and cause me to spill my drink or trip over my headset running from my art pc to the gaming pc :x

Honestly, most of us are fine if you run around with it - just don't sit y'know ON the spawn point. We're all excited about our new pals. :D I <3 my kitty and spiders. I'm gonna run with them. However, some people feel it rude to use them in the zone and I've been so torn up about it myself. :(

Yeah that's why I'm so apprehensive to use them at the moment. Zul'jin is PACKED with camping hunters who have been waiting for a very long time already and are eager to get their pet and be done with it. There are currently 5 hunters waiting for Skarr and I'm just poking around to hopefully get some timers so I can return at a more ideal time. Last thing I want to do is stack on people and piss them off >_>

:) It only AOOGAHs if someone has a rare pet out near its native spawn points. Otherwise, it will simply silently cache it. Whenever I begin a camp, I log in the place I need to be and clear cache, to make certain I didn't pick up someone's pet in a city, because it only takes a second in Org.

No disagreement there are jerks in the game - but how exactly is this connected with my quote...? :?

Oh, just something I strongly agree with is all :D cos the problem are the folks actively being mean-Not the people well. Being people. Probably should have clarified~

I'll never understand people who grief the tames of other fellow hunters. Honestly I'm probably guilty of tripping NPC Scan with my rares, but I use Silver Dragon (not NPC Scan) so it was unintentional and I'm sorry if I freaked some people out with the loud noise it can apparently make. The only thing I don't care for about Silver Dragon is that I either need to mouse over it on my tracking or on my screen for it to trigger, but it prevents false signals and I'm always extra paranoid when I tame, so it's usually not even an issue for me. To all those trying to tame the new pets from 4.2, good luck and know I won't be joining in on the "fun" since none of them really appeal to me. However, I wonder how many people would mistake my Olm the Wise for Ban'thalos if I quested with him in Hyjal....
