I love the sullen face on the boy in the second pic, it's so cute! :D

Also, the four month old, Kira, climbed up in a tree yesterday. One of those tall ones without branches before 8 feet up. It was dark outside, and she seemed scared to get down, so I stood there and called for her and picked her up and cradled her in my arms when she finally came creeping down. :P

Yay, internet at school so I grab the opportunity to spam this thread with some more cuteness.

They were 19 days at this point, if I remember it correctly..
When I first saw this I went :O because barely a week before she was running away from them.

Anyway, they now cuddle together in that box, and Kira and the queen are once again friends.
She seems pretty intent on keeping one of them though.

She played a lot with them in the start, but seemed to figure out that they were to small. Now that they have started jumping out of the box, she is prone to pouncing on them, poor kittles.

And some more. They seem to be showing personality traits already, and there is a certain lil Speshy that is the brave one of the lot. He doesn't mewl when you pick him up, and is the first to explore the grounds outside of their nest, the others have taken after him though. :P
At this point, it was yesterday, they were 4 weeks old.ยจ

A bit many pics, perhaps.. xD

She is sooo not guilty of lying in wait to pounce them.

Why the hell that was outside I have no idea.

And lil Speshy is definitely not planning to take over the world.

I sat outside with the kittens for over an hour a couple of days ago, and lil Speshy decided he'd come and sleep in my lap.
The people here also put out a litter box to the cats, and you know what I found this morning? The kittens sleeping in it.
God knows how those pics ended up upside down and sideways. Taken with crappy cell phone camera, and it was starting to get dark outside aswell. Isn't he the cutest?

I actually realized that this particular kitten does that gesture with her paw very often. It almost looks like she is planning to hit someone, or get revenge for something.

Miyon wrote:So I researched the issue of the food stealing behaviour of the queen on a whim, while being bored in biology. It may seem to be an issue of dominance, as the queen might think of herself as the "alpha" of the two, and therefore thinks she should get to have the best part of the food/kill. It might also be the strangeness in cats that they think the contents of the other bowl is better than What she herself has, even if she eats her own food first. Either way it was suggested that I have a bottle of water to spray her face with to teach her not to steal food. I don't know how smart that'd be though, I imagine she'd be pissed and attack. I have noticed with Kira that she will eat about half from each bowl when fed, if she is alone with the food. It also might just be her pregnancy.

The cat "stealing" the food is the pregnant one? If so I would not use the squirt bottle on her. Unless one cat is not eating enough just let them sort it out on their own. If you need to separate them during mealtimes, do that instead of squirting a pregnant cat in the face.

Yes, the pregnant cat was the one stealing the food. Don't worry though, I figured splooshing her with water would do no good so I never did:)
She is behaving again now that she is not pregnant anymore, but Guess she will be in two months time.

But she was practically stealing the other cats food. The other one looked very thin at that point but she is all good and well fed now. She even gets along with the kittens and the queen very well.:)

The queen is acting up again. This morning, before going to school I caught her hissing at the kittens when they were trying to suckle from her. At that point I thought "oh no, she is pregnant again.." But after reading up on that behaviour it might just be that she is trying to have them weaned. They are seven weeks now after all, so I guess it is about time. Although the chances that she is pregnant again is really high, she really is stupid like that. It's nearing winter, and they live outside.

Do you have any recent pics of the kittens? I'd love to see them :)
Perhaps the queen just wants the kittens to get "normal" food now... I don't know about cat-mommys, both my cats will never be able to, they had this surgery (what is it called in English?) when they were still in the shelter.

You mean they were spayed/neutered?
The kittens are eating normal dry food, but it seems to be still hard to chew. I give them baby food sometimes too, but I have to keep the other cats away else they eat all of it. I'd give them all the same food had I could afford to, but the grown up cats are able to eat dry food just fine without starving, so when the kittens are gone I can spoil them some.

I have pics, just gotta check if I can access them on this comp. :D I'm taking new ones today aswell, my mom wanted pics where they were "smiling" instead of mewling, it looks like they are hissing then and they don't look as cute for an 80 year old woman (my grandmother).

I currently only have pics of the ones still without a home, as that's what I had to focus on when I had the last photo session.

This one with orange is a girl.

This with the white face is a male, I named him Speshy.

And this is the other male of the litter. Pretty normal tabby kitty if you ask me, but still cute.

well, you have a warning on it :D
And so far even my crappy student-room internet connection works it out just fine.

to topic: more cuteness *awww* Can you give me just one of them? I miss mine back in Germany so much. I don't know how I'll make it through an other half year without them after christmas holidays.... Sadly no pets allowed in student rooms *makes sad panda face*.
