Then again, I have a love of macabre themes, the Forsaken, and all such related things. I just think they're awesome. I fell in love with the diseased black bear when I first started playing the game and knew I had to have one, likewise with the undead boar. I just adore their appearance. Those two are my favourite. ^^
I totally agree with Vephriel here... & on a side note, we
NEED an undead Cat, I mean really, how hard is it to skin one like the wolves, I'd use it!
Regarding favorites:
-wolf
-white bear (I think it really shows the zombie-esque look a lot better)
-boar

Ok now THAT I could totally go for! I love all the cats (except the hunch ones, they look too stiff and are always looking down) and I have way too many but I just have to have them. Hunters and cats go together like peanut butter and jelly, steak and red wine, cake and ice cream. Some things are just meant to be!

Nosboaratu approves of this thread, although he's the only undead/scabby thing I've kept around. Love the look just don't get that click with any of the others.

I have never clicked with any diseased pet except for one. I don't dislike the diseased beasts, and I do think they match some hunters wonderfully - especially when they have a story to it. They look awesome beside undead hunters. But they're not for me. I'm a big fan of zombie movies and so it's not the whole undead thing that bothers me. I just can't use them, they never match my hunters.
The one I have clicked with is Bones, my undead eagle. I think it's because he's made of bones and feathers and doesn't have those blisters and open wounds like the others do. I do actually love the undead boars, but I haven't used one since Vanilla.

Wouldn't the green cat from Felwood count as "diseased"? As in, he's probably green from all those slimes.
Though a "regular" diseased cat skin wouldn't hurt.

I find this thread amusing as I have an alt on Nesingwary that is an undead and her entire stable is either dark or undead/diseased pets! [Save a few here and there...Can't always keep a theme when something just hits your heart right.]
Have a look.

I had a Felwood wolf that I named Roadkill. It lasted for about... 2 hours. I don't honestly like them but to each their own!
If I came up to an animal being diseased bad like that I would want to put it out of its misery, not make it fight more and get worse injuries.

With the right character, I love them to death.
I really, really would LOVE to be able to use a "Death Knight" skin with a Blood Elf hunter to make a "Dark Ranger".
I can't really imagine an Undead under without "zombie" pets. They're undead and most animals are naturally skittish or aggressive toward them (its even mentioned in some quests) so the "undead" pets seem to match them really well.
....This is actually making me want to make an undead hunter!

I have an undead hunter with insane/deceased pets.
She used to be a stablemaster, you know owns a heard of horses....that stuff right? she was attached to animals before death
after death she owns a heard of dead animals and well sense living creatures were too scared/aggressive or her undead nature
lets just say she was only able to bond with the insane/deceased
I think thats mostly the reason for undead pets matching undead is well.. their both undead and really seeing a living animal next to something dead wouldn't really make much sense (Unless of course its just a normal corpse that isn't undead then the animal might eat it))
thought I'd add it, just with my opinion on the undead= undead pet matter

I don't like them, but I understand why some people might (I guess.....). For one, I think they just look gross. With those gaping wounds and visible innards and boils and all that, I just find them horrible to look at. I don't have any hunters that would actually want one of these creatures loping alongside them, flesh falling off of their rotting bodies. The smell would probably be horrible, not to mention the fact that I'd rather shoot and kill a creature like that to put it out of its misery, rather than make it follow me around in agony.
For an undead, it seems like an obvious choice. But for any other race, they just don't fit, in my opinion. I'd much rather have a happy, healthy pet than a dying, rotting, diseased, hurting pet. Maybe that's just me.

I made an undead hunter (for the guild achievement) and all my pets are undead. I have all the diseased ones, all the ghostly (non rare) ones, and a carrion beetle (ie, the scarab-that shell is pretty much a requirement for killing elites). When I raid, I have to suffer and break my theme as there's no undead ravager or dragonhawk.

There is an Undead cat, the Ghost Saber.

I consider

to be a perfect Forsaken ravager because it looks like it's been hit with a plague bomb.

Count me among those with an undead themed hunter who uses only diseased, deceased, and creepy crawly pets. Not something I normally like so much, but with Kibbled, it works. Besides, any normal pet would just try to chow down on her, instead of fighting at her side.

I find the diseased/zombie models heartbreaking. It looks as though the animals are in so much pain. I would want to heal them or put them out of their misery, but I don't think I could have one with me as a constant companion.
That said, I might consider taming them as an undead hunter if I ever play one. Because then, you know, the animals wouldn't have to feel all self conscious about being dead and/or diseased. All pet models deserve love, after all. I've actually considered making an undead hunter with only undead/diseased, ghost and spirit pets.
