Wow great posts. I was honestly wondering when it would ever end? I just kept scrolling and more and more animals to look at

I dig the new tiger models myself. A waterstrider mount thing would be a bit.... odd? Wonder if it would be a ground mount you get in a quest line (like Abyssal Seahorse) that allows you to ride over water?

Hmm, I'm not sure on the topic of the old world tiger models getting updates into these, but it's certainly a theory to consider. I mean, just looking at these compared to the old...it's painful. At some point the Vanilla models really need a revamp.

^ my eyes cry out in pain. I love my "box kitties" but if they get an upgrade i will be all for it.
No doubt about it i will be upgrading Boyfriend (wintersrping tiger) to a new skin. Also the Qilin look awsome and If i can get a dragon turtle i will have a new tank pet.

I was just wondering to myself last night if it will give you water-walking. That would be awesome! I bet it has something to do with fishing.

Part of me wishes the green tiger could be a mount. I would make a He-Man costume.

I don't like how the new tigers are not saber tooth cats *shrug*

They don't even look like they're from the same game anymore. O_o

It kind of reminds me comparing Pokemon New Gen graphics to old Blue and Red. It's like, "Frik, these were the same company? O_o"

Ah, im so happy to see these tigers, and 90% of all the creatures in there to be frank (some im like bleh on and not all the colors am i a fan of but of course, thats to be expected hehe, it'd be weird if i was in love with every screenshot there XD) but im gonna miss the original winna's kitten. Seeing the comparison, i am so hands down for revamp of all the colors except winna's kitten. I love the derpyness but it also makes me imagine the kitten as just that, a kitten, but giant size XD I dont want my undead hunters precious baby growing up :< i'll still love her after the revamp if they're gonna replace the model instead of adding another green/orange cat with the new skin, but i'll still forever be fond of the original appearance ^^

But seriously, black/white tigers, white cranes, purple beaver, brown/white otters, purple/blue/grey stone and tan/grey/purple fleshy quilins, blue-green/'nozdormu' brown/onyx+red dragon turtles, black yak, all serpents (including the lavender one), black+spots/light blue goats.... GET IN MAH STABLE AND?OR MOUNT COLLECTION NAO!!! I can ride bareback incase blizz doesnt give you saddles

I'm like half way done drawing my WoW cat babie drawing I hope they don't revamp them before I finish XD cos I'd just give up then.

when you compare the new and old next to eachother like that it makes me worry that Blizzard may be thinking of replacing the old models with the new at one point.
Now i would hate that!

But i do agree that the old models need a retouch. Or a brand new model that is still very close in shape(minus the blockyness) and that it have sabres.
same with the wolves, bears, boars ect.
I love my good old wolfs, cause the fur and body moves so nicely but it could need a touchup. If they just switched em out with another wolf id be sad.

I doubt this is some big cat revamp, we're rather just entertaining the possibility, but honestly I'm not sure of it myself. These new tigers have such a different personality from the old ones, and little details like the lack of long fangs, and the fur crest. Blizzard could choose to have that the new norm as WoW tigers though, who knows. They have to start a revamp somewhere, and they may choose to make these models the standard tiger ones. Or they might make ones more similar to the small tigers we know now later.

Either way, revamping all of the Vanilla models is a HUGE project, one I can hardly imagine is possible, and player models will have to come first.

There is. Sambas model.
Id be angry is they made all lions into sambas. I hate his hairgell soaked mane.

That is indeed true. I mean the revamp what Veph said. XD But I forgot about sambas :/

They might slowly convert, letting each model trickle in with each patch, but it seems like an age old question that we all keep poking at XD I have no idea if we'll get revamps and if so, when they will happen, but im always convincing myself they will to prepare for if the day comes when they announce it. Im scared though they will replace lions with Sambas model, since thats the newest model for cats in general thats gone live. I really, really, hate how plastered to his body the mane looks, and how it droops into the ground. It looks like someone crazy glued all his hair down. Theres graphic texture, but its too slick, its not natural, its just plain creepy XD

I'm not a fan of Sambas either, but if I look at this from Blizzard's view, our fond nostalgia over the old models is not going to stop them from getting rid of the outdated ones and replacing them with new ones if they choose. Comparing them side by side, I'm sure they'd rather have Sambas models everywhere then the old Humar/Echeyakee types. Are they going to go through the trouble to make a brand new lion model slightly different from Sambas for the other lions, or will they use the high texture one they already have and save time/money? It would just make sense for them to recolour Sambas a few times if this were to happen, not going to lie.

I hope not too, but these new cats could easily replace all old normal tigers and it wouldnt be hard to do so.
But they dident update anny of the old world lions with sambas model (and personaly im glad) so i dont want to belive that they will do so, but if they wanted to, they could.

Indeed. And thus i worry slightly as im so attached to the good old.

I'd like to see a lioness model :/ But with saber fangs XD
