Really?! Maybe they aren't done with pets yet and are still gonna add new families. I mean they haven't even added any rare spawns yet, right? *crosses fingers and toes for hydras*

Yaks and mushan confirmed to be unintended.

Mental image of tiny yak bouncing on fainting couch.
You're welcome.

I have to agree with your post from a dif thread. Whether or not these stay tamable, GC HAS to come out and say something regarding these pets. At the very least, apologizing for the design teams making the error a second time (seriously, it couldn't be that hard to do a double or triple check on these, especially with such highly desired beasts).
I'm really hoping Yaks and Mushan stay tameable, Yaks for myself, Mushan for those who want them, but I'm not sure what will happen. This is all very deja vu, mainly because Noah pretty much said the same thing for Porcupines and Caterpillars as he did for Yaks and Mushan, as well as no one besides him has said they won't be tameable, maybe GC will reconcile again?
So, with that said, I repeat:
FITE TINY YAK! FITE!
FITE LIZARD RHINO THING! FITE!

Err, one sec, Gimlion.
@Meggers: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Right, what was I saying? Oh yes.
(at the risk of derailing the thread...)
All we know is that yaks and mushan weren't supposed to be flagged in this build. If that changes for future taming, then it changes. If it doesn't, then it doesn't.
If it wasn't for Noah, we'd have no clue on what the official intent originally was; we'd just be in the dark. Things would appear and disappear from the tamable list and we wouldn't know why, at least not until significantly after the fact. Things that are in development are greatly in flux, which is why we're lucky to have Noah and to hear anything at all.
TL;DR: Beta is beta and the on/off switch only applies to specific builds, not the future (or possible future).
P.S. I want to send that yak to Blizz with a note saying "Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease?"

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm in no way blaming or looking towards Noah on this, I'm just saying that last time he was also the one telling us they weren't intended, and then "FITE PORCUPINE! FITE!" happened. SO, basically I'm just saying that things are still up for change.
Whatever happens, happens, if no ram or yak, I probably will have an extra slot, since the goat ability isn't that massive of an ability, if they are tameable, well I'm getting a yak!
I am very excited to see the bug-striders are finally tameable (even if only one mob), as those are my favorites outside of cranes and porcupines at the moment.

Yup, just making sure that it's entirely clear that the info is only as good as the time it's given - when stuff changes, it becomes obsolete.
The water striders make adorable little sounds! I'm surprised we haven't had more people running in here squeeing over them.

My Lotus will be one of my main leveling pets, especially in the Wilds. I haven't been squeeing, probably because the fainting couch is so relaxing:

I will squee my head off the second one of the jade (or red, or blue, in that order) ones is tamable.

I'm also really looking forward to the jade ones! I do love the water striders though, so darling and squeetastic! x3
Which still brings the problem of what kind of water strider I'm going to get for Mia...
Arms or Jade bug... X_x
