It failed as it was a badly made MMO (was not a good warhammer game saldy :/)

This is my point.
I'd rather see the forced attention put on the content and quality of the game rather than ensuring that there are extra servers just for the early battering from players. After all, once the initial hype dies down, no one remembers that part; they focus on the game itself.

Kalliope wrote:Yeah, but what happened with WAR in the long run?
It failed due to it being plagued by bugs, glitches, cheats, poor gameplay design, an over estimation of the lasting player base, and horrid customer service. My point was the same as having a dinner party, its better to have more than enough to go around than not enough at all.

Bolded point is likely tied to the number of extra servers for the launch, though.
But yeah, the focus was on numbers rather than quality.

I managed to get into character creation, but that was a whole new set of time out errors. Eventually it gave me the middle finger and I had to restart the whole process from scratch. I am kind of annoyed that Blizz didn't plan or stress test better for this. I mean people have been waiting over a decade for this game to come out so they had to have had some indication that it was going to have heavy traffic.

My point exactly

Fair enough, especially since they roped in a bunch of WoW players who didn't necessarily have plans to pick up D3 as well.
Still, once this passes, I'm sure people's expectations will be met, due to the focus on other sections.

Starcraft 2 was a really good game so yeah I'm sure Diablo 3 will be good!

I played the beta far enough to love the game already. Unfortunately, that also makes me want in even more which doesn't help in the patience department

I got in for a second too. I saw that there were about 10 lvl 1 characters from all my attempts to get on. I deleted the extras and watched the intro and got kicked again. LOL

I knew I shouldn't have made another toon before checking the forums...I could still be playing. -fistshake-

Played for a bit this morning, now I'm getting error 317002 so I can't resume game though. I think people who were already in can still play. Seems like they're doing some server work (I'm sure).
In the meantime, I found out about customizing banners.

What's everyone's banner look like? Here's mine. :3

Where do you customize banners?
I'm liking it so far. I'm only lvl 2 but it's fun!

On the character screen right click the name of your character and you'll get a list of options, including customize banner.
