Maybe we should just look at the positives here like Rottingham mentioned. They're happy about the Netherays and HHM.

Think more positively Oh well I'll have to make another Mechano-Hog, no biggie. At least my Red Proto, Rusted Proto, Ironbound Proto, Black Drake, TLPD, and Aeonaxx will be account wide. Good enough for this too.

Who knows, maybe they'll make some more available account-wide later on, one can always hope

Seriously! The majority of RNG mounts aren't restricted and those are the ones you're never guaranteed to get.

And yay nether rays! I started getting rep on my shammy once, but lost motivation. And now I won't have to.

Personally I think this is just an early draft of the list, and while the gold sinks will probably stay, and the class mounts, the others will probably be in flux and likely to change and be adjusted.

I'm not worried about the gold sinks because it's a sensible way to ensure they retain their effectiveness, and there'll be more gold floating around in Mists anyways. We might go 'but that's expensive' now...since we're looking at it through a Cataclysm lens. Once we've got Mists to adjust our view with...that will very likely change.

Actually I found I can currently use my main's Subdued Seahorse on my alt. So either they only changed this in a build that isn't live yet or MMO-Champ just got it wrong.

Mmhm I can use my sea pony to but I dont care what they say im not spending so much gold on my alt so that she can get some shiny mount instead of spending my gold on my main with the numerous things I can buy. So not that rich.. and right now im going to be broke

Again I'll say it. Most likely got mixed up with the quest mount. I doubt that will be shared theres no point as it's a simple quest to do and is part of that zones story.

By 'Account wide', does it mean Account-wide or the mounts are bound to all chars on their selective servers. Such as, say, my Black Drake on my Druid on the Silver Hand server. Will i be able to recieve it on my characters on Nesingwary or only on my other chars on Silver Hand? (never really got an answer back when it was first revealed to my knowledge but again, it might of been cause there wasnt enough info regarding that)

Pretty sure BoA mounts will be across all servers. There may be faction/class/profession restrictions on some BoA mounts.

Ooh, I really hope you're right about that. I'd be delighted. And if I can get more than one of the quest-related cloud serpents, that would be great too.

I'd be hugely surprised if that great expedition yak remained off the list if the other 'gold sink' mounts were on it, though at 60k, how many people would buy it more than once? I don't know, maybe people would.

Perhaps the seahorse will go up in value for a while now. I still havent had any luck searching for it myself. (just a lot of flybys)

I guess I understand the class mount restriction, but why the hell would they make the goldsink mounts account-bound?

That just smacks of greed to me, and I really dislike it. I was very much hoping I wouldn't have to grind a ton of money to get the mechanohog/mammoths/sandstone drake on multiple chars. >.>

It does annoy the piss out of me the goldsinks are not boa. Its just saying they being snots about it imo.

Been trying to find this thread for a while now xD Im hoping like, a LOT, that netherdrakes, nether rays, and talbuks are BoA, cause i got em' all and i would reeeeeally love to share them all with all my toons 8D

I'm a bit sour if the sandstone drake doesn't become Account-bound. There will be new gold sink mounts in Pandaria, at least let us have the old ones on all characters. :<

To cut a long story short, I bought the drake on a character that was my main at the time, but isn't anymore.

It's fairly obvious that they want the gold sink mounts to remain gold sinks. I'm not sure about the chopper/carpet thing, though they're probably both supposed to be on this list for the same reason that pally/dk/lock mounts are.

The reason being for the gold sink mounts though... why yes, it would be a lot more practical if they were account-wide and that's the PRECISE reason they aren't. These mounts are intended to go for a high price, and stay at a high price due to mats and demand. As soon as you make them account wide, then no one will have to buy more than one of them and suddenly demand and price drop. The gold sinks are no longer valuable as gold sinks, and the constructed mounts (panthers, choppers, etc) are likely to be sold at such a small profit margin that there's little point to making them once the novelty wears off. In order to keep demand up, they have to make it so people have a reason to keep buying them.

Though hell, anything to dent the pockets of the 1%, I say. I plan on making as many of those gem cats as I can. @_@

Exactly. There are tons of ways being introduced as a gold sink that will net the same people that buy the mounts. Let people that managed to earn the gold for those mounts have them BoA. :/
