I farm leather like mad when I'm trying to earn gold. If you have a max level skinner, the core hounds, next to the baby bear trees (also under the birds) for the Hyjal dailies, make a rather large loop, that, if you are alone, should fill your skinning bag in maybe an hour. The loop is so large that by the time you're restarting, the core hounds have already respawned, so no waiting on spawns.

I'm going to have to farm till I vomit to get this thing, but I keep seeing you guys say something about uncapping dailies? Oh my.

I'm hoping the new Darkmoon Cards will sell for a pretty penny when the game comes out. Looking forward to riding the Scribe-wave

You are missing something even bigger, scribes will be the only source of shoulder enchants.

Something that no one else seems to have mentioned about the price hike, is that with the current mount system (and prices) you would have to buy one for each and every toon that you want it available on. With the new system, you only have to buy one once and every toon you have on that server (plus faction if it is faction specific I think) will have access to it.. If you compare the current 10k prices for mounts for the max of 11x toons (110k total) to the 120k price for the same number of toons, it doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me ^^;; Currently on live, just from doing basic soloing/dailies, I can make 1k-2k per day with only 4x 85s... This just means that those who want these mounts will have to grind for 1-2months if their only source of income is dailies, and less time if you have another means of income... This doesn't even take into account income inflation which is likely to go up considerably.

TLDR: no need to panic. we can all get them eventually if we really want them just from regular playing.

This is a very good point. For those of us with multiple alts, we'll only have to sink gold into one character. However, for those who have one main they do everything on and no alts, the grind might be a bit more rough.

Most people don't sink that much gold into multiple toons.
