Yeah, can't let the l33tists moan for too long :S

And yeah, it was confirmed by a blue (possibly GC) that it wasn't intended and was fixed, and also that those that got the mount will be keeping them. Lucky sods :p

I probably wouldn't have truly enjoyed getting a mount that way anyway. I actually still really want the Firelands meta achievement mount, because I'm so few achievements away from finishing it!

It's not about being an elitist. It's about wanting to keep something rare rare. I got it farming Heroic Rag week after week. Still I don't think mine is any better then someone who got it on normal Rag. People want rare mounts and rare pets because they are rare. Taking that away diminishes the value of the mount. A lot of people have downed H Rag by now, where the mount is a guaranteed drop. So it's not even THAT rare. But 100% drop rate on a very nerfed normal Rag was a little ridiculous.

A borked drop rate on a valuable item is a pretty good-size bug, imo.

I don't have the raggy mount, but I do have the T11 Meta mount (before DS came out), and the Deathwing mount as well (the blazing drake about 2 weeks after DS came out), but would increasing the drop rate bother me once people start flying round Org on them? Nope, not one bit. What other people have, and how they got it, doesn't bother me in the slightest tbh. I don't care how rare or common a mount or pet etc is, the thing that matters to me is if I like them. If I do, I'll use them. If I don't, I won't.

I agree with this 100%. And actually....heroic rag downs are kinda rare unless you're in a hardcore raiding guild. Majority of guilds havent downed heroic rag. Hell, more guilds have likely downed heroic DS than rag. (Trust me, heroic DS is cake compared to regular firelands)

Indeed, IDGAF if the love rocket got bugged and was handed out to people at a much higher rate or a 100% drop off the bosses for a bit (or the whole event) that sucker is rare as hell and I don't think its fair to all the people that honestly want it for more than just an "OOH RARE GET IT!" deal.

I actually got cussed out when I got one out of a box, but it doesn't make me all squee over it. NGL fave mount is the Azure drake, and if I had to stare at everyone on it I'd be happy. That mofo is beautiful.

So all in all, no I don't have it, but I want it and it being fixed so fast pissed me off. xD And if something I h ad that was a rare drop was bugged like that...IDGAF.

I do get what you were saying before though, why leave a mechanical bug that effects game play such as the falling through the platform bug on madness stay up for an entire patch when fixing an insignificant bug ASAP. I guess it was just an easy fix though.

I don't care what other people have or how many people have a hard to get mount. I just like that some things in this game are require more work than others. It adds to the game, IMO. Otherwise what's the point of even playing at all. Why don't we all log in and have PSD, TLPD, all HM mounts etc waiting for us in the mailbox. No wait! In our bags cause having to check the mail would be, you know, hard.

Your sanctimonious scorn for "l33tists" is misplaced. You want a guaranteed chance at the Firehawk? Improve your toon, improve your dps, work your way up in better and better guilds until you have a shot at getting in a guild that can farm H rag week after week. Those aren't your in game priorities? You'd rather spend your game time doing something else? Fine! There's no right or wrong way to play this game. You still have a shot at this mount but why do you feel entitled to an equal chance at it as those who worked harder for it than you did?

Some people get carried to it by friends, some get to pay out the nose or pay a little. I don't think they really worked -hard- for it in the sense you mean. XD

Uh... huh. I wouldn't even consider this tier of a mount rare to begin with, anyway. It's just annoying. Very annoying. You can't progress into it or get into a guild for it. Because no competitive raiding guild wants to farm H Rag for random people. You can... buy it from a guild. There you go, a guaranteed mount drop and win. :/ Now if only you could pay someone for a guaranteed mount drop for the REAL rare mounts out there, like Zulian Tiger... Headless Horseman's Mount... Big Love Rocket... TLPD.... PSD... All of which have varying degrees of rarity from improbably to obtain in the future due to pure RNG.

Now me? I'm a mount collector. Not the kind who throws a fit and never talks to my friends again because they won one of the 3 Blazing Drakes I've seen and didn't give me one. Not the kind who throws a fit because for (5?) whole days the Fire Hawk was up for grabs and I managed to luck out and win one during the scant few chances I had against other people who have shared my poor luck in regards to getting the silly thing. I'm the kind who wouldn't care if the TLPD was up once every hour on the hour. I would still go and kill it and put it in my collection. If a TLPD spawned for me soon, I would do the exact same thing. Go kill it, put it in my collection... then be done. I honestly have no interest in the mount other than collecting it. My mount favorites are based on how pretty I think they are, not how rare they are. I like that some are harder to get than others, but it's nice to have a moment of hope for those of us who were going to go into MoP without the Fire Hawk and were given one last hurrah to go for it without paying out of the ass for it.

And, to me, the Fire Hawk is gorgeous. I'll get my Corrupted one once groups put it on farm to do the achievements. I'll do the same thing for Dragon Soul and that's how I'll get my Twilight Harbinger. I'll probably even run back and solo Naxx 10 and 25 to finish those achievements. It'll be fun! That's what it's really about. Fun! And to me, more mounts = more options = fun! :3

So do I because it keeps the game interesting and part of the fun of the game is working towards something. Like I said before, there's a reason some drakes like PSD or the Firehawks are coveted mounts and the stratholme drake or the regular wind riders aren't. I never said those who got it during the bug should get their mounts taken away, I just don't think an incredibly nerfed normal Rag should have 100% drop rate. It's that simple. It's not selfish, it's not elitist, or anything else anyone wants to imagine it is.

There will always be people who get carried in the game and get carried IRL. It's just how it is! Now people who pay 100k to get "carried" to the mount, they actually did work for it. Do you know how much you have to work to make 100k gold (early expansion boom aside)? It may not be as legit as winning it the hard way but they still worked for their mount!

Heroic Rag is still a pain. We only just finally managed to get it down last week after so very many wipes. We've let it be rolled on like we do with all loot and I was lucky enough to get it last night. I would have been happy to see the 100% on normal remain until MoP so that we could have gotten it for more people via alt runs like we're planning to try with Handmaiden. It's a beautiful mount and I'd love to see more of them around.

But I've already told the raid group that come MoP I want to get a staff for the shapeshift on one of my caster alts. So we'll be going back and farming it. Hopefully we'll see it drop in MoP.

I only have it because my guild farmed H Rag every single week until we all did. And I'm proud of that and your entitled whining doesn't change it. We also once we won the mount would bow out for guildies who weren't raiding so they could have a shot at it. So how is that elitist?

Some mounts should simply be rarer or harder to obtain than others. They are rare because they are harder to obtain and fewer people will make the effort to obtain them. The Pureblood Firehawk is not an "elitist" mount. It drops on normal rag too. Not like the Blazing Drake vs Lifebinder's. Anyone who can down Rag, which has gotten so much easier, can have a shot at this mount. But someone willing to work harder week after week should have a better shot at it. Just like someone willing to camp for Aeonaxx week after week statistically has a better shot at PSD that one who randomly does a lap around the temple before logging for the night.

It's totally disingenuous for you to say you don't care about the status of a mount. Yes you do! Which is why you're whining and carrying on about "elitists" and this particular one! It's a desirable mount because it's beautiful, rare, and hard to get.
