I also immediately thought of those gates when the Emerald Dream was mentioned. And considering that most of them are secluded they could even spawn level 90 spirit beasts in memory of the old world bosses. *totally hopes this is gonna happen now* XD

Nobody to guard the entrance/exit of the Dream. Most of the powerful "lore" Druids, (Cenarious, Malorne, Malfurion, etc) are all in the waking realm healing Hyjal and keeping watch over the Firelands. Who's to say something might not "slip" thru. :-p
Actually the gates are being guarded by green dragons and a named draonkin or atleast the feralas and ashvale portal dont know about then the others.
Personally I dont mind a low lv spirit beast but seeing we get a lot of low level rares this patch I rather have an pandaria specific spirit beast first

The Duskwood portal is deserted, and an archaeology digsite. Seradane in the Hinterlands is likewise desolate, if I recall correctly.

I hated when they removed the dragons from the portals...they were an awesome flavor thing to come across while questing. I wish they would implement them in again, and do something with the portals, like make them randomly teleport somewhere.
I am still very surprised that an emerald dream expansion was never released...Playing the game for the first time, the emerald dream was something I looked forward to entering. Especially playing through as a NE druid.
oh crud, I am helping in a derail *Flails*

Yeah they decided to blow that potential by resolving the issues there in a book.....

Lore wise, all of those gates are sealed. xD You seal the last one in Feralas while questing there as Alliance.
And just to clarify: The Emerald Nightmare is NOT resolved.
They isolated it to a small portion of the dream, it is not destroyed.
The seal is also weak, as seen in The Barrens, and is constantly weakening. They will have to eventually cover it in WoW.
I'm expecting an Emerald Dream patch during the Azshara expansion, tbh. They said they want to do a patch for the Emerald Dream a while back, but not an expansion.
But yes, trying not to derail, lol. The Emerald Dream/Nightmare exits around Azeroth seem like the most likely place for a lower level beast.
