Most of us are just a little saddened they didn't take five minutes or less to update the letter. The buff is fine and dandy. It's helped me level my monk to 88 so far. Overall, we're allowed to feel a little disappointed they couldn't update the letter. No sense those who aren't bothered by it to get angry/snarky at those who are. We're all entitled to have our opinions on matters.

But yeah, the official forums is usually not worth much other than an eyeroll.

*giggles at the Blue poster* I think I'm okay with that.

there you go folks, blizzard didn't forget you, they didn't mean to break your dear little hearts and leave you feeling snubbed.
Good on the blue poster. Cause really, the warm fuzzies go in both directions here.

This could have posted with a little less snark on your part, but that's irony for you. ;)

Happy that it received a blue post, and that it might not have been intended. That an apology about the mishap was issues, and the wonderful mental image of an exploding tap dancing sheep was placed in my head :D

Actually, despite what the GOP would want your to believe, companies are not "people".

So no, we don't give gifts to corporations on their anniversaries.

The corporation exists because WE, the customers, PAY their salaries. Therefore, the anniversary in question is one that is made possible by our continued financial contribution to the corporation.

Which means that yes, it IS "normal" to have a company give gifts to its faithful customers on ITS anniversary. Because without those faithful customers, well, there would be no anniversary to start with.

You can be "cracked up" all you want, but you're still dead wrong.

So what am I actually dead wrong about? I really didn't make any factual statements, just showed my surprise in how people "expect" things. You are telling me that every company that provides you a service gives you a gift on their anniversary? Wow, you have an amazing life. Seriously...your post cracks me up as well! Thanks for the comedy relief on a Tuesday morning!

PS. Would just like to add, "you didn't build this"

Sukurachi said nothing about "every" corporation giving customers a gift on their anniversary. Blizzard has proven itself as one corporation that has made a tradition of doing this. This is why both of your posts are off the mark; you've missed the trees for the forest.

Considering that there has been a blue post indicating that the letter WAS meant to be changed, this entire discussion is now moot. Even Blizzard agreed that not updating the in-game mail wasn't right.

Agreed, Kalle. So I think we need to dump some ice on this topic and chillax.

This thread turned needlessly toxic.

I'll leave it unlocked for now. There's always the chance that something else will appear that is related to the anniversary. Especially when they said they were looking into it (they may have meant just changing the letter text, but who knows? I still hold out hope for a red panda pet :D )

But I'll be removing any new posts that speculate on the mindset of posters on this forum, or attempt to seek cheap moral high ground. Go to the Blizzard forums for that. It's also not a place for out-and-out rants against Blizzard. Disappointment is fine, angry expectant opinions can go to the rant thread.

I am definitely taking advantage of the rep boost by doing old reputation dungeons.
I finally got all of the Horde Expedition reputations to exalted on my main.

It's only 8%, but it was still enough to help.
At first I was very disappointed because I thought the rep/exp boost was only for that day.. then I checked the calender and saw that it was for two weeks! So, that's pretty cool.

And I would definitely have liked a new pet.
