That tells me the beaver is more than likely a new battle-pet, rather than a pet. D:

Though, I hope they do it as a spirit beast. Let the beaver lovers use one without making a whole new species. xD

I wonder if the turtle is a spirit beast or if maybe it's going to be a missing Turtle "god". Plenty of people have pointed out that Chinese mythology always has a turtle god, as well as the tiger, crane and dragon. But one wasn't included at launch.

Either way, it's truly gorgeous.

How about this being the turtle god and he has a consort? :D

Actually, a turtle god would make sense.

He could have been imprisoned by the Mogu, which is why the Pandaren never knew of him. Could also explain his presence in the raid. XD Could be a Valithria situation. Though, I don't want to speculate. xD

Like, he was the "center" of Pandaria, located in the Vale. xD Would also explain how the Vale has such magical water. >_>

Out of interest, two pics that Spiritbinder created for us a while ago.

His concept spirit turtle, which was also an earth spirit:

And a spirit porcupine. This one was a quick concept created half as a joke. He said all you'd need to do to create one was give it a blue aura, transparency and shiny eyes (original post):

And that's kind of what they did ;)

*Peers suspiciously at Spiritbinder*

Just kidding, of course. I'm pleased that they made such a gorgeous turtle, even if it just ends up being a god. (Never thought I'd type that.) The porcupine *is* a little disappointing to me, as it's basically Ghostcrawler but a porcupine, but I'm sure others will love it.

I think you're onto something here. He DID jump right in with the spirit porcupine FITE comment....

....could this explain the eyes?! Only time will tell!

@Zangor: Ban'thalos was based off of the scout owls in Warcraft III. :D

Dire Horns have been added as a tameable species for Hunters that have learned the required skill. Aspiring Dire Horn owners should seek out clues regarding these auspicious beasts.
What's a Dire Horns?

That turtle is based on rocks...

...if it is the 5th Pandaria god, is it possible they DID kidnap him well before the Pandaren existed, and that's how the mogu gained the power to manipulate stone? >_>

there's a fifth celestial beast in the mythology, but I think that role is already being filled by Tsulong.

personally I'm interested in the mentioned direhorns; specifically I wonder what kind of abilities/buffs they'll be bringing. knockback? healing debuff? crit? stats? stun? from the description it sounds like they are going to be exotics.
