These guys aren't dropping anything for me, as in aren't even lootable =/ I restarted the client and waited but still nothing

I believe they don't actually have any loot table right now except for the rare drop, so you won't find anything on them until one happens to drop.

Can the mobs needed for the drop be soloed? I only have quest gear..any info would be appreciated.

Veph, I'm assuming that your lack of color coordination in these screenies is due to being on the ptr and not having all your usual matching gear available....

I did it in PVP gear, because all my characters on the PTR got somehow erased and I can't transfer, so you should be able to do it. Just spec you pet as Tenacity, kill a few and get it.
Btw. I am really surprised how long it takes to get these for some people. I farmed for 15 minutes yesterday and had like 6 drops with being kicked off the server. O:

The mobs are easily soloable to be honest, if you are using a pre-made it's easier but a copy might have a harder time depending on your gear. Like Greta said though just spec your pet as Tenacity and you should be just fine
I personally have the Glyph of Mending on just for the extra healing as some of the brutes on the island do hit a little hard but it's not a problem that you should worry about with the trolls.

Since I seem to be the only person too busy/willing to wait until live for the PTR, can anyone give a rough estimate for the drop rate of the tomes?
