I'm in two minds about that...I defiantly think the naxx metas should be returned cause to be frank there was no reason to remove them since no other dungeon/raid mounts were ever retired since...but I kinda like some of the others being retired. its a "i was there and did that then" badge, kinda like some of the old titles and FoS.
As much as I like the old ZG tiger that I never got I like how its uber rare now, almost a treat to see it! And I like my Zhevra in a similuar way
Not that i deny others special things but I think I'd be abit dissapointed if they did that.
Still hoping the hippo isn't a RAF mount tho, I can't afford another account
I have a few retied mounts and quite frankly I'd like them to be able to be obtained again. I'm getting sick of making people sad when they ask how to get them >.>

I'm with this logic. 9yrs is a massive acheivement for a subscription game, I think a mount is a good reward! Might be a catch to it maybe? Account active x amount of years to get it? Hmm who knows.
They couldn't even give us pets for the anniversaries anymore so I'm pretty sure there's no reward for playing for a long time. And when I said free, I meant like gifts like in the old anniversaries with the pets; achieves you still have to put some work into usually. I can't think of a single achi mount that didn't require some work other than just logging on a certain day.

This actually bugs me alot the whole "everyone should get everything" thing. I played in vanilla thats why I have x mount. I don't see why someone who started playing in cata should get it too just cause they get upset and want it. Thats my reward for playing 8yrs and being around when it was available.
This came up so much in wrath it made me want to punch the screen, a whole bunch of ppl complaining when they took weapons/armour/mounts out. "QQ I want x thing and can't have it gimme!" such a trait of this current generation too makes me want to puke. /end rant.
I'll stop derailing the thread now kek ^.^ Where art thou from Hippogryph!

I will disagree with everything you said. I could easily say your going "QQ I don't want people to have X thing" too ya know but I'm not going too.

If you put the time and effort in to get it at the time then all power to you. There's nothing i have that others don't. But don't reward people simply because they are sad they can't get it anymore, thats the point of retiring mounts/armour/titles etc its a reward for those that participated at that point in time. Some things should stay unique to the time they were aquired imo thats all I was saying.
If they re-introduce the mounts i won't have a hissy fit about it, I have no problem with people having the same things i do. I will, however, be dissapointed that even blizzard give in to the have everything now with no effort generation.

Was more in response to "QQ I don't want people to have X thing" was just explaining thats not what I was saying or trying to say. I don't mind if you agree or not, I just have valid reasons for the way i feel is all. I won't say anymore on it or we'll end up in a never ending loop

I agree, I really liked that model! Also theres one with aqua blue wings thats used for a mob in felwood (no idea if its still there?) that would make a lovely mount too

I've wanted these two colors for so long now I think I'd actually cry if they were finally put in game and actually obtainable by means that wouldn't have me breaking my back. The upgraded version can be whatever it wants to be and come from wherever it wants to, I just want my low res pink and lavender lady and my blue and green gentleman. Blizz Store, rep grind, or something akin to how we get the Flameward Hippogryph would be just fine with me for the low res ones. If they plan to get rid of the TCG I doubt we'd see that as a potential source if these were to make it in-game

On the whole "Retired Mounts" and entitlement, I'm in two fames of mind.
There are some things like PVP Season mounts, that have always been seasonal, and once that season is over, are no longer obtainable. One could complain about it, but few people do due to it always being that way, and it's attached to a particular time/date/year. For me, that’s fine,
The main problem with some other retired mounts is the variation and confliction in which some of them have been retired.
Some examples would be the Nax achievement mounts. When these mounts were introduced into the game there was no talk of removing the opportunity to gain them at a later date. They then decided to make them unobtainable after a certain time giving players a few months to try and finish of the metas required. They then introduced new mount achievements with the next tier of raiding content in Ulduar. This time however they chose not to remove the ability to obtain these mounts at a later date, yet the Nax mounts still kept the original unobtainability.
This was confusing and then prompted inequitably among players and raiders that got their drakes while the content was relevant and others that did not. They then did this again with Trail of the Crusader, they removed the ability to obtain the mounts from that raid, but then in ICC the Meta Mounts are still obtainable in that one.
This is not a new thing to happen wow, it started back in vanilla with the Black Qiraji Battle Tank. A mount so rare that only those whom rang the gong the for the 1st time, once per sever (or within a few hours after) were able to gain it. It should have stopped there but WOW did not know how big of an impact that would make regarding retired mounts. Then there was the 1st brewfest where you could purchase your mounts with currency, and then they changed them to a loot drop system. They removed the non-epic version of the ram in the process, essentially removing the ability to obtain this mount. The Armani Bear, etc.
After the removal of the 1st RAF mount, and everyone after it’s a safe bet that the next one could and should be removed with the introduction of the next. It’s always been that way so it’s hard to call fowl if it is removed. If they add the ability to earn these back via another means that’s great imo. If they want to add that’s ok, but it’s when they take that it becomes an issue.
Wow should never add mounts only to remove them at a later date unless stipulated upon introduction. (imo they should never remove any mount all together to save these headaches) When they create double standards for the similar achievements or situations, it’s confusing and unnecessary.
Hopefully now with the ability to scale down gear in instances, if they want to keep mounts that require a relevant skill set/item lvl to obtain, they can add an option to zone in under “Classic or Original” Mode and then problems of removal during to out gearing will be a problem of the past.

The brewfest ram one is dumb. I was lucky enough to get it but I don't see a good reason for getting rid of it.

I'll agree with that one. They didn't indicate they were removing it (unlike the other retired mounts) but I guess we got the kodo as compensation? I actually prefer it to the swift one tbh.

Patch 5.4.1 will add a new Refer a Friend system. The whole process will be moved in game, rather than requiring you to visit the site in your browser. The system will give you a token which you can redeem for the new mount, one of the other mounts, or a pet.
