Someone mentioned earlier, and seeing it like this, makes me think it's actually tied to the regular drake model with the way the claws a being held (like the drake's front claws).

It is pretty gorgeous...well, I thought the Iron Skyreaver would be the CE mount, and was dead wrong...so I'm not even holding my breath it's a CE mount. And the bat, fae drake and skyreaver all came out really damn fast, I wouldn't be surprised if this is a store mount too.

The pterodino standing pose would fit it much more - it would look more like a bird, and less like a bat. (That the bats, especially the new ones, don't have the crawley proto walk and sit animations is beyond me).

Either way: my shammy is starting to gather her golden Skyshatter like right nao :D

You and me both. I love the new bat models, and it bothers me to no end that didn't take the time to at least.. y'know, link those animations to the bat model. We know they could have.

Ooo such a gorgeous mount  . If it is from CE, I might actually consider buying it. :)

PLeaaaase be CE!!

If this turns out to be PvP I will cry. I was thinking "Dread" to "Dreadful Gladiator" but from what I am reading here it seems unlikely!

If it has the proto drake model then that leaves me confused after we had all those lovely bird models introduced in MoP. At the same time I think it's good because at least drakes can sit down!

Also if it really is the PD skeleton... wait until you all see the influx of "Ughh reusing the same skeleton over and over..." moaning. -.-

It looks like the mount DOES use the modified Proto-drake standing pose used by Pterrorwings!

Having a matching mini pet doe lend a lot of strength to the CE side.

Does anyone else notice the typo of Imperial Quillen in that? Ha!

Yeah that little copy/paste or typo mistake pretty much seals it as CE XD

I'm glad it'll be in the new PTR files. I'd been worried about how long it would take to get images. Now waiting patiently for the PTR to become available... :)

Also waiting to see if there's any potential there for wild/beastly versions ;)

UPDATE: 2 minutes later and it's started downloading! Woo!

I've got a feeling it might show up in a dungeon/raid. I mean it could be used for Anzu right? I mean the quilen mount showed up in the Throne of thunder raid in like three or so colours I think.

This mount will just be the iceing on the cake for me. The art book will always come first for me and seeing as they are updating the models I hope too see lots of stuff about that in the book and I can't wait <3

So the latest PTR files are now public. Details on the model:

- there's only one colour, which isn't too surprising really, given the model's associations. But it would have still been exciting to find other colours :)
- despite a few similarities in aesthetics to the thunder isle birds, and even the storm crow, the skin is an entirely different layout. No skin swapping.
- all the bling is in a separate image, which means the base skin is pretty complete, except for a few small things like toenails. So it doesn't seem too hard for them to produce a wild version. The model would have to be modified a little, though, as the armour is important for its overall shape. Without armour, the current bird has slightly clipped wings, no talons and a bit of a flat head. Not too far off, though:
