I am on a pve realm Blackwater Raiders and we are now merged with Shadow Council and by god the ones from SC like to come to our shrine and kill our fp master then sit and wait to kill it again so saying it won't happen is not saying much. Over on the main forums this has really exploded into a firestorm that Blizzard had better control or be forced to lose more than just their player base. I stay away from pvp unless I feel like messing around in say Tol Barad but to have it forced on me is going to be the straw that broke my camels back. There is now a compromise make trashcan the pvp hub and Karabor/Bladespire the pve hubs that way both sides win and the players feel they are being listened to.

A few thoughts on this...
If the jerks on your server, PVP or otherwise, like to kill the FM's, they could likely do that with the Karabor/Frostfire, unless the flightpoints were buried in the middle of the zone. So I don't think you would see that old system help. (And who's to say that the FM's won't be hidden in the middle of these new hubs?)
After playing a bit on the Beta, it seems that you really will be spending most of the time in the world, or in your garrison. Only really gonna need the hub for the AH and the bank.
The old hubs are really as out of the way as the Ashran ones will be. An even better solution would be Shattrath, in the middle of everything, rather than out on the corners.
This change allows for Karabor and Frostfire to be involved in the story along the line. We might see Karabor nuked before the end of the expac by the legion..

There are times, like when a patch has been out a long time and people are getting bored, that some people will be sitting around in their capital thinking, "What can I do to kill time?" When a city is just on the other side of a zone (eg: shrines or ashran), more of those people will think, "I can go PO a bunch of people by griefing them / their FM etc in their capital city", than if the capital cities were a continent apart.
Compare how often it happens in Shrine to how much it happened in SW/IF and Org. Sure, it happened occasionally in SW/IF, but nowhere near as often as in Shrine. When it comes to being a jerk, travel time inconvenience is a deterrent.
I do like the possibility of Karabor being a story location now, although being a capital city might not have prevented that (eg: Orgrimmar now, Deathwing eating chunks of SW).

Well, with both the shrine locations, the flightpoints are also ripe for the picking, and there are places you can land without even aggroing the guards. With no flying, that will be more difficult.
Of course, if the FM's were hidden as well as they are in IF, you wouldn't see much FM ganking going on either.

No flying means guards are programmed with the presumption of no flying, and griefers finagle their way on top of landscape, doodads, and roofs to evade guards. Darkshire was notorious for that when karazhan was current content. The ideal solution would be to just nip all that in the bud. Its not like Shrines had a faction boss for a raid to kill. And for Ashran, there should be faction bosses out in the actual pvp area, separated from the vendors and portals and everything, like in the Krasarang camps. Just take it one step further, since it's the capital "city" instead of a patch content camp, and just make them sanctuaries.
Actually, I've gotten to the point where I don't care that it's on Ashran (other than the overreliance on portals). Especially if we can summon a Draenic version of Ivus in Ashran. Oo, doubly especially if Draenic Ivus will go kill the flight master >:) I take back everything I said about griefing in capital cities if there's occasionally a giant tree monster that one faction can summon to attack the other faction's hub. Including a horde tree monster attacking my city.
