Calendar ingame says the anniversary is the 17th. I hope they start it sooner than that.

The best possible move Blizz could do in regards of the anniversary in my mind is make MC all of November. Give people time to do it while they're 90 and give us something to do in the time leading up to WoD, and then if you didn't have a chance before hand, you can level up to 100 and still have the latter half of November. Trying to hand us the anniversary a week after WoD and expecting people to be ready to go is a terrible idea and people aren't gonna like that.

However, if they were going to do that, they'd essentially have to program two different Molten Cores. I don't see that happening. It's level 100, if the dates here are right, and it's doubtful that it's going to change. Which means, yeah. Unless they extend the date past the 17th to the 1st (which is what my in-game calendar says) we'll have three weeks to level to 100 and then gear enough to actually make a run at it.

Which means that unless they make it super-easy, we'll need to do LFR in order to *get* the core hound mount.

... which, I guess, is a good way of limiting it. But is a VERY bad idea toward encouraging players to 'slow down and enjoy the content'.

I agree. If they don't start the events before WoD releases it will be a disaster. If they're not going to do that then the 13th is the worst possible release date they could have chosen.

It should not be limited in any way. Everyone needs to be able to do it and there should be no extra gearing up required. If they make the raid scale the players to the same level then that will work. Otherwise, it will cause massive outrage.

Ah, fair enough. I really am hoping they don't try to limit it. It's stupid considering the idea of the anniversary has always been "Let's celebrate we're playing WoW " not "hey you casuals you're on your own you want the cool reward for playing WoW too bad either level quick or you're SOL"

So either they release it beforehand, or they release it after and make it last for a long time. Frankly releasing it beforehand would make more sense--plenty of people could access it, it'd bring people back because let's face it everyone is burnt out because we've had a YEAR of SoO and we're sick of it, and it'd be a good leading up to the new xpac event, since, you know, we don't have one of those or any word of it yet.

I can only play a couple of weeks a month, usually the first two. And a lot of people in my guild can't just spend that much time playing to level up a character in such a short amount of time. If they don't do something like move the anniversary earlier, or change all the 'max level' anniversary stuff to 'scales gear to the same level', then they will have supremely bungled the whole thing.

I'll be honest: this indignity is the closest I've ever come to wanting to quit WoW. They ask us to 'slow down and enjoy the content'.... and then make an event that has a time limit on it, where you have to be level 100, to get an item that is unavailable *any other time in the forever*.

I'm suspecting it'll be extended *later* rather than *sooner*. I.E. that they're planning on having it be through December. Or something similar.

At least, that's my *hopes* here.

I knew that if the MC event made me rush levelling I'd say 'screw the mount, I've got things to RP as I leave Pandaria and pets to tame!' I'm so glad we won't be getting rushed along I'll sleep happy tonight. I was going to anyway...but even more so. (If you've seen my post on the happy thread, you'll know why I'm so happy)

I usually have lots of faith in Blizzard, despite I get antsy. XD

hmm i saw the new cinematics... i dont like the sound of the pvp island...i dont pvp, i dont grp.. is this really an expantion for soloplayers as well?

I have the same worries Tarn, it seems like a griefers paradise. They did say there were monsters out on the edge though. With any luck that area won't be pvp, but who knows. I am excited though for everything else. Exploring, story lines,and battle pets.
