MaximumOverdrive wrote:The only thing about making them playable tho (the uncursed ones) is they would, again, have to make new models & skeletons since the current ones use an altered worgen skeleton. All the playable races have unique skeletons compared to each other & I'm betting they would want to continue that trend. The Cursed ones would be a better choice overall in terms of story & designs. I think neutral would be best for faction too.

Personally, l'd rather Naga heh.
Actually, no, they don't. Worgen aren't unique at all. They're actually the same skelly as the Draenei. Claws of Shirvallah is the worgen skeleton too....which is playable. :P Night elves are just taller human skeletons. Most of them are not unique. They're just 'very slight alterations' of existing ones.

They would not have to make new models for the uncursed Arakkoa. The ones they have now would work just fine. I can see traces of what they used to make them but I think they look quite nice as they are. They are just missing a few emotes and animations. It would be cool to have the option of shifting into a cursed form kind of like worgens but that may be asking too much.
I know if they went with the cursed ones they would have to pretty much remake the whole model which would be more work for something they JUST remade. their robes seem to be part of their skeleton so if they became a player race they would have to create the body under that robe for plate/mail wearers and visible xmog. =/

That's true. I know the cursed ones have a cloth and a mail model. Thats how you could tell who was the caster and who was a melee class in OL.

I support if they have customization beaks; duck-bill, bird of prey, pigeon, chicken, hornbill etc

I kinda doubt that since they aren't ducks or hawks....they're based on ravens.

Ah I see, that's explain their colourful feathers and all! I thought they were based of Skesis from the movie 'The Dark Crystal' and Aarakocra from Dungeons & Dragons !

They have inspirations from there too. Kind of a mix of all three of those.

I'd be very happy if they made these a playable race, very very happy and would have my full support!
And yeah Wain, your right blizzard did say they are still planning on adding more races, it's was more about them feeling like they fit and they are happy with them, but there are more coming (even "if" they cause "balancing issues" :P )

Personally if people don't like them or are unhappy about thier implementation for any reasons, well no one is forcing one to play them. I don't like certain vanilla races and would never play them, but it doesn't stop me playing what races I prefer.

(A lil off topic)
When it boils down to it, it's blizzards game, they will always create, design and add what ever they like. If one takes that much offense to their game design, good chance is one should have a cup of concrete and harden the fudge up or just go play a different game.
It's ment to be a FUN game, not get people so riled up or cantankerous.

oooh i hope to god they get put in, love a new race XD

im putting in my 100% support for this :ugeek:

@Junrei - Well problem is...Quilboar are greedy and are aggressive to both factions. There's almost no lore behind them and no female model.

^ im sure the quillboar and goblins will get along fine together :P

As a slight tangent, I want to see quilboar as playable. Yeah I know, they probably won't ever do it because wow players whine and bitch about 'ugly' races almost constantly but...

a) They have a reason to join the Alliance because honestly, the Horde has been up their snouts about basically everything since Vanilla, taking their land away and generally just trying to kill them off.

b) They follow Agamaggan, one of the Ancients revered by the Night Elves, and with All The Ancients Coming Back lately (see: Cata) someone could probably stir up/resurrect him. It's entirely possible that ol' Aggy could set at least a couple tribes of his children back on the straight and narrow. It's also another reason to make them an Alliance race instead of Horde.

c) They're definitely smart enough to accomplish things. They understand magic, building, all manner of weapons use, have clearly defined classes (mage, shaman, warrior, hunter, druid)

d) They already have male and female models! Take that, ogres! (I mean, they'd need developing further because obvs, they're OLD models, but STILL.)

e) They already have established lore and culture that can be expanded upon.

Again, I don't think Blizzard will do it because a lot of players will be all LOL OMG NO PIGS GROSS WUT LOL but -I- think it makes good sense. Certainly better than just yanking a race out of their ass... koffkoffdraeneikoff...

There is! It's this one. Look. There's boobs. (I did admit they need a revamp but at least they HAVE females.)

And yes, they're currently antagonistic in game. But gee, Blizzard hasn't ever altered the course of a completely-antagonistic race before or anything...
koffkoffkoffWORGENkoffkoffEREDARkoffDID I MENTION THE WORGEN...

Anyway. Most of the reason the quilboar are so antagonistic is that they're under a crapton of pressure. Their ancestral lands are drying up, the Horde (mostly tauren and orcs) have been very aggressively trying to push them out and/or wipe them out, and their patron deity is in hard straights. Desperate people resort to desperate measures (up to and including a tangential alliance with the Scourge, which even other quilboar have not really been on board with...). However, if Agamaggan (proven to be benign in lore) came back and said 'hay you my chosen shape up yo' there's no reason to say they wouldn't... or at least part of them wouldn't. I mean, not all the worgen signed on to the chip-chip-cheerio school of polite wolfmen, there's no need for all the quilboar ever to suddenly turn into the best buds of the boys in blue either. But I think there's more than enough opportunity for a portion of them to do so.
