This might be an unpopular opinion but I would like to see ORANG UTAN models that would included into the Gorilla family, thus the family renamed as ape.

I also want pelicans! Pelican mounts riding in its mouth OMG! Pelican will be grouped with cranes and seagulls to make a new family; Waterbird.

I would love to see swallowtail butterflies and stag beetles too, preferably some of the scarab beetle 'skins' would be like ladybirds. Stag mount? pfft, make way for STAG BEETLE MOUNT! WITH RACING STRIPES!

I'd love to see all those things. It's probably not going to be the right environment for an orangutan, but it would be cool to see. I've wanted swallowtail-style butterflies or lunar moths for ages. They really could do a great new moth model if they tried. And stag or rhinoceros beetles would be just awesome. Something really wicked for that family.

if they tried something on moths they could go for a more evil look like Battra from the Toho monster movies

if you swap the red with fel green it would actually make sense in legion

also serpents would be a nice family to update as well but I think that it would work better in a south seas/naga expansion, same as wind serpents and gorillas, probably in a naga or troll context

I'd name my orangutan "Librarian".

And the Misha model is a little weird, but it's still nice to see something recent. I do like how bestial wrath is a skin effect, and not just turning red. Maybe whatever spirit beasts we find on broken isles will light up like that.

Granted the art styles of wow and gw2 are different, I didnt mind the bear model in it.

Oh I like that As you say, it would look out of place with WoW's art style if it was copied exactly, but the proportions are good.

This all said, if WoW could get the proportions right, I would rather have a WoW version of a bear than a realistic version. This thing running beside me in GW2 feels weird, its a full grown model but sized like a juvenile. Maybe itll feel better if it gets bigger.

Every pet family that has been neglected, tbh. :/

I am PRETTY MIFFED that warp stalkers, fen striders, and nether rays didn't see any new/updated models since WoD revolves around where they are from.

And as much as I love all of these new models, there are a LOT of families that could use new models. Monkies, gorillas, foxes, bears, silithids (JUST LET ME TAME THE PANDARIA BRAIN BUGS FFS), chimera, hyenas... the list goes on. The most popular families have seen enough love. Who knows, new models in older groups might make them more popular?

And yeah, I seriously want an incubus for my warlock.

let us hope we get tame some of the undead pets in legion, like those skeletal wind serpents we got a tease of in WoD beta

Man, they could do so much with the new core hound frame and a more modern wolf or canine head. I would SO love to see that

I'm afraid I'd have to pass on that. It's usually kinda cool in theory, but a tail (especially knowing Blizzard, it'd be an excessively poofy one) just kinda... it's so blatantly THERE. Any kind of mog I put on my draenei, and there the tail is, just BEING there and sticking out, almost like an eye sore. If worgen got tails, even if it was optional, it'd probably spur me to race change. I feel like the whole point of a wergin was taking humanoid parts that were already there and beastmoding them, not adding stuff on. And I'd rather not point at druids and say "but the Claws of Shirvallah get tails!" because they're just copy-pasted saberon models. And some druid RPer always describes it as transforming into a saberon... it gives me the willies somethin' awful, and by no means in a good way.

In my opinion, worgen are better off without. They can be scary as they are, and slapping a tail on it just feels... TOO animal-like, too natural, when worgen are supposed to be the opposite (in the eyes of druidism at least) and seen as monstrous perversions of nature, the total abandonment of the balance they strive so hard to achieve. The only reason night elves didn't cull the worgen in Gilneas is because it was originally their own people's fault and they decided to man up a bit and fix it.

I voted bears. But many other original pets need an update, for example tallstriders!

And yeah, also companions...I mean, the bunny model is really embarassing.

Please upvote Gorillas. They are in desperate need of update.

In GW2 all the pets you tame are juveniles. We don't get to tame adults.
