My most sentimental pets have to be Ryyke, Demonheart, Frisco, Rule and Catstep.
Ryyke was my first pet after the initial Hunter quests on my very first hunter ever, a female tauren named Ravenbrook on Cairne. He was a Bloodtalon lashtail in Durotar, and I remember leveling with him from 10 to, oh..... well, 31. Then my account got hacked.
Demonheart and Frisco were on my second account. Demonheart was a Deviate Guardian in the caves before WC's entrance, and I got him on Veilbrook, another female tauren. We leveled for a bit until I dropped him for a Moonstalker runt in Darkshore (very original choice, I know, I know....) he was named for my RL cat, and actually bares a significant resemblance to him, fur-wise. But I missed my Deviate and traded off.
Then, Veilbrook's account was abandoned for a fresh Recruit-a-Friend start, and one level 64 druid later Masaika was born, a female dwarf hunter. Her first pet was a snow tracker wolf from Dun Murogh, the white-and-gray ones. His name was Rule, after the kickass Nature of Nature's art character. Rule accompanied Masaika through Loch Modan until I got Catstep, a brown tallstrider from Darkshore. I had fallen in love with those goofy birds, and also the quirky name I gave her, first invented when I was a lot younger. But, she was dropped for Seazle, a pink raptor from the Barrens (Yes, I love dinosaurs....) and then I replaced Masaika with Theruzan, my current hunter.
I can see some sentimental-ness in the future now. Cyanide (loving this name, LMAO) is Theruzan's Venomous Cloud Serpent from Thousand Needles. I wanted to get her the white serpent skin, but after being killed by Hordies a few times, I had lost track of the one I was stalking
However! I found a replacement. Petopia says the minimum level for the Venomous serpents in 1KN is 28--LIES! Cy was 26 when I tamed her. Theru died a few times while stalking her, because of all the hyenas and prowling cats getting in the way, but I am now the triumphant owner of one of the least original wind serpent skins. And I'm quite proud of my Cyanide.
I plan on getting one of those frost chimaeras in Winterspring when I learn the Exotic talent. Just so I can name him Sylvester. I love that name.
