Pfft. Both my friend and I agree that Malfy looks like he tried to be all druid forms at once. Except for tree form 'cause everyone knows Malfy ------ Yeah, not gonna go any further. XP One I haven't read the book so what do I know? (hehe wowwiki for the win! Furiku=too broke to buy the book so reads about it on wow wiki) and two, what I was gonna say is more born out of my dislike for Malfy then anything really.
I have to ask, where does it say in canon that Malfy's eyes are yellow/gold/whatever? I seriously mean no disrespect there, it's just bugging me. I mean, I've seen the toy yeah, but I went back into my War of the Ancients archive and found this line:'Illidan would have been identical to Malfurion if not for his midnight blue hair and amber eyes.' (Chapter 4, second page first book (Don't ask for the page number. I just shoved the book away. XP)) so I always thought Illidan was the one out of the two with the 'special' eyes and Malfy was the 'normal' eyed one who supposively wasn't meant for anything great but proved everyone wrong. I don't remember wow wiki saying anything about his eyes being gold but I also haven't looked at his page in a long while so what do I know? XP

Here's a quote from Wow Wiki to answer your question (found under "Amber Eyes" section on the Night Elf page):
" Amber eyes
Among night elves, amber-colored eyes, as opposed to the traditional silver, are a sign of inherent druidic potential and/or a night elf destined for greatness. Among the class-obsessed night elves who lived prior to the War of the Ancients, amber eyes were rare, and thus viewed as a sign of underlying greatness. Queen Azshara and Illidan Stormrage, both extremely powerful sorcerers, had amber eyes. The night elves became vastly more egalitarian since the War's end, abandoning their former obsession with bloodlines, and thus, amber eyes are now far more common. In addition, druidism spread throughout night elven society, and many night elves develop amber eyes after birth if they practice the art.[4]
Though amber eyes are a sign that the individual has a natural ability for druidic magic, it does not mean that all amber-eyed night elves become druids, or that silver-eyed night elves are unable. Malfurion Stormrage himself was born with silver eyes, and developed amber eyes only after studying druid magic. His own brother, though born with amber eyes, lacked the patience to succeed in the art.[4]
In-game, all male night elves have golden eyes while all female have silver ones. This is purely graphical and does not have any effect on gameplay or class choices."

Ah I see now. Thank you so much for clearing that up. ^^ I have to admit I never noticed that in-game male nelfs had gold eyes...of course I don't really play male nelfs so that might explain it. XP

i had always hoped that with an emerald dream expansion, we'd see a corrupted, evil malfurion. just so i could laugh at his arrogant face. ooooh how sweet that fall from grace would have been.
damn it.

Haha! Yessss! I share the same feelings! XD I mean, honestly Malfy isn't that bad over all, there are npcs I like less then him so if I had to pick between some of them and him I'd go for Malfy but yeah. (Like say...Maiev. -hisssssssssss- Oh if I could get my hands on her....-growl-) He just has such an air of arrogance around him.
I have to admit though, corrupted!Evil! Malfy would be pretty awesome to see...I always did like it when the oh so pure and good are turned into to the dark and cruel. Probably why I like Illidan so much. Even though he wasn't exactly shiny and nice to start out with. Er yeah, shutting up now.

I don't really mind the new model so much, but We already had an In-Game model/idea of what he looked like. (
http://www.wowwiki.com/File:Furion_Stormrage2.jpg) I like this model much more.

I think all the animal thing like the wings and paws are suppose to signify druid forms.
Not... so sure about the antlers, though. o-0

He's Always had the antlers. I believe it's used to show a relation to Cenarius.

I've noticed in WoW, all males NEs have yellow eyes, druid or not. However, my female druid has silver eyes. Logically, shouldn't she have gold eyes, as a druid?
(Then again....Weren't for the longest time females weren't meant to be druids? Hm.)

Well in lore only female NEs can be warriors and males had to be spell casters :S
