I'd much rather spend 1k stone shards on buying it, than face melting torture of trying to get into a VoA when everyone lol class runs, for one boss.


And what do you mean a mount from every quest? Did you not like, dungeon scrawl in Wotlk? You got tabards. That raised your rep when killing stuff in dungeons. And several of these places offer free mounts. Wyrmrest accord actually offers free dragons. Dragons were being tripped over upon in Wrath.

If you don't like elitism, join a guild. PUGs are'nt a good measure of how raiders on your server are, because people who PUG are usually jerks. In a proper raiding guild you will find a much nicer atmosphere, and assuming it has decent raid/classleaders you'll find supporting people as well.

I can admit that I don't really like how VoA turned out, but that's just the way they built it. Unless they upgrade all the bosses, it will get obsolete rather quickly. Besides, it's a mammoth. I don't like those.

I never said I liked the mounts available in WOTLK. I like the tabard system, it makes it less of a grind, but you can't call those mounts free either. You have to first get to exalted, and then buy the actual mount. I'm also not a huge fan of the "dragon!" aspect, I would prefer dragons to be more rare.

But see- I'm already in a guild. And I don't have the time to be in a raiding guild. I also don't like to use chat programs like vent, and I don't have vent or skype or whatever. I also am unable to use the WoW VC feature either. Then the other thing is whenever raiding guilds ARE looking for people? They're either the lowest of the low and they disband in a few weeks or they are NOT looking for hunter DPS. So I'm sorry that you have to fall back into the 'go join a raiding guild' routine.

And? It was an Example how I was saying compared to the raid, as it was and is now, I would rather perfer spending time grinding up stone keeper shards doing dailies as that would be far easier, but no less as hard, to get what I need for a mammoth. The same way that this guild mount is- it's not free. You still have to earn it.

The same you have to do for the Guild mount, Saturo. And yes it basically is a free dragon because it's one of the few dragons you can reliably get ingame, without a rare chance drop. The other drakes being the Albino and the Bronze- all other wrath drakes and dragons are rare drops or achievement mounts.

Arwyn I love you right now This means working as a guild and it wont have ot be a Hardcore raiding guild to get these things it is open to everyone PvP, PvE and the casuals! Aslong as you do things for your guild like questing show up for them

I know people have different ideas on how Blizzard should do things. But people just think over 7-8 million people play World of Warcraft and everyone has different ideas or different ways to play World of Warcraft and they have to please that many people who 90% complaned about the low drop rates on mounts maybe thats why the Lich Kings mount is 100% drop on 25 man HC. Yes you have to work for that one but its a 100% drop and I am sure it pleased most of the masses.

People shouldn't always be negative before the facts are out there we can hope you have to work hard for these mounts and I personally hope you have to work as a team doing things; questing together, leveling together, running instances together even battlegrounds!
Also I remember reading that if you leave that guild you got the mount or items with you loose that item either it goes back to that guild or its just gone.

Judging from the comments from here you can see why Blizzard are giving something nice looking away as a guild item, not everyone can raid, not everyone likes PvP, heck some of us just like to Roleplay! And when Cata comes out that mount mighht not be there or you might need max out Rep with your guild to get it. Just be happy that Blizzard does think about their players and try to make sure we all can enjoy certain aspects of the game

By any chance does the Worn Stoneskin Gargoyle cape have a tool tip that says anything about its length and colour? I've got the one from Strath and the Saronite one from ICC, so if it does I might have to join a guild to be able to get myself yet another white and longer than your average cloak or cape cloak!

Also: Dark Phoenix being more accessible than having to be the Raid leader, GM, the pet of either those two or having the money to buy it off the winner in a PUG = thumbs up. But I'm an odd person who doesn't attach specialness to an item because of the difficulty in obtaining it. Standing in a crowd of a hundred other players of both factions all with sparkle ponies is kind of neat to me.

Not to burst everybody's bubble on this one but don't you think the mounts and stuff are going to cost a *little* more than just 2 silver, the pets, recipes, and heirlooms the same. They may be hundreds of gold or you may have to have certain achievments and be a certain level to buy any of it. Its sad once you think about it ToT.

Or it could be worse and those are the real prices and the money sinks are in other things. As honestly I'm betting the prices are that low and hopefully stay that low because of how hard a grind it's going to be to get 'exalted' with your own guild.

Which is what's disappointing in the first place >.>

I expect to pay a healthy price for the pets and mounts. Certainly more than you pay for the ones in Dalaran. It's not all that sad considering we know the phoenix looks quite nice and the lion and thunderlizard will probably be decent as well. If you look around at forums it seems people want hurdles to jump for the phoenix at least, so that might make people happier to have to get high guild levels, high guild rep and achievements on top of paying a large chunk of gold.

On the other hand, some people won't be happy unless it's a .5% drop off heroic Deathwing, and others not happy that it didn't come with their collector's edition of Cata

I imagine the feast recipes might well be fairly cheap since they'll likely be raid staples.

I doubt the Dark Phoenix will be for sale if your guild isn't level 25. And after reaching that level, if they put a price that's way too high people are going to bitch left and right about it too. It will take time to reach level 25 or Exalted with the guild, and if people have to fork out something like 50k gold for it then you'd have to wonder why take a crap ton of time to be able to buy said mount then not being able too cause the price is insane? Though I honestly think that 2 silver is a bit low for such a mount. However if you lose the mount if you /gquit then the price would look right. No one would want to pay a huge amount again to get that mount back.

Remember, prices on everything will be inflated again, along with everything else. We'll also be gaining more gold than ever before as well. I expect these prices to rise; they're just low for testing purposes.

Yeah, the prices are probably *that* low at the moment because Blizz wants everyone on beta to buy them in order to test them. It wouldn't make much sense to make them difficult to get now, because that would mean that hardly any beta player would get them, and that in turn would mean that this stuff would hit live without Blizz knowing for sure if it all works as intended.

Not saying that the things will be uber-mega-expensive in the end, but 2s is a ridiculous price for a mount even if the main part of getting it is supposed to be your guild level+rep. I mean, a stack of food costs more than that.

Allso remmebr gold will be alot easyer to get in cata aswell.

40G was never a vast amount to me, but I remember being immensely proud of my 1k! xD

I'm coming in late to this rodeo, but I'm happy to have a range of mounts for everyone. I don't mind "sparkle-ponies" and bronze drakes for those who want an interesting (non-gryphon) mount without too much effort. On the other end of the spectrum, I envy those three or four people on my server with Invincible, but I don't hate that I'll most likely never have it. I don't want it just handed to me. It's freakin' epic for a reason, and I'm ok with that. They worked their tails off for that, and they deserve to have something unique. Then there's the middle ground, for people like me. For instance, grinding rep for a red drake, or doing A HUNDRED AND ONE (/snarl) UD Strat runs for Baron's mount, or having to buy loads of eggs before finally getting a green proto, or the upcoming poo-fest I'm undertaking in the form of Heroic Sethekk runs for the raven. I think they have a good amount of mounts for all walks of life, and none of them are really boring or ugly when you think about it.

I totally wish I could have the thunder lizard instead of a lion. I already have a billion cats! And the dark phoenix sounds delicious, but strangely enough I still think I'd rather have the Ashes of A'lar, the color is more my style.
