This is happening, and has been happening for quite a while now.

And I agree, the exotics should stay BM only. The pet is just such a huge part of a BM Hunters DPS.

At 6:55 am server time this morning, Caelestraz, did I check out grizzly hills when my npcscan went off to my delight, signaling that I'd finally found Artcuris!

It took me but a second to abandon my vargul blighthound, lay down a freezing trap and begin the tame. What surprised me was that arcturis highlighted as a yellow and not red so it was a hassle free tame.

I feel as happy as a person who thought a cat had done its business on my pie, only to find out it was an extra large blackberry!

...Though now all thats left to do is get another blighthound, attempt getting the Beast...

I have now been waiting over a week for this darn bear!
Many lowbies of the opposite faction have been watching too, but i'll kill if i have to.
Yeah i'm one of those people with all the spirit beasts, and wanting this one.. and i don't see how that is unfair to anyone, I would never TAKE from another player, but i'll fight for the right if i am there first.
I don't see how it's anyones buisness why we collect the pets we do, we all have different reasons.
Just have to be patient and wait your turn!

I've been camping on/off for almost a week now. Still no spawn... :-/

Seen a few other's come and go but so far none of them have said they found him yet either.

Finally got him alittle earlier today.

Was on for a bit and doing some quests and other random stuff. Was getting ready to log and do some RL stuff.
I have been flying to his spawn and loggin there when I do goto log. so I don't have to fly there when I login .

Well i get there was finishing a convo I was having with a friend and killing the stags around there.

and BAM NPC Scan goes off. Heart races...
I get rid of my wolf I was using at the time.

Run over there set trap fire 2 shots off and start tame. Then starting to pan camera around and didn't see anyone so knew it was smooth sailing..

I'm a level 74 hunter, but I've not very imaginative, so I haven't really even begun to use the potential of my pets. So today I got kicked out of a dungeon party because I had this lame pet - some kind of wind serpent! So I'm going after Arturus. Can I tame him if I'm level 74? Thanks, great forum by the way, and almost current!

Yes, ebondfrancisco, he's at level 74, so you've just gotta lay down a Freezing Trap to prevent him from mauling you to death.

I'm going to camp him myself, starting now, using the tried-and-true-on-Skoll method of leaving WoW on in the background with NPCscan and SilverDragon on, volume cranked, and doing something in the meantime while I wait. I want a spirit bear.

NPCscan? That's an add-on, right? Does it work with a Mac? Anyway, good luck. I'm just now figgering out all this pet stuff!

Indeed, it is an addon. And indeed, it works with mac. The way of installation differs, but it's essentially the same thing.

Got my spirit bear today at about 1030PM.
read about it here,
logged on my hunter,
flew to the area and there it was.
no camp time. no competition.
Based on the previous posts It seems I was lucky.

Finally!! After several weeks of camping I finally tamed Arcturis! Tamed Arcturis at 10:21 am/US Haomarush realm. It was quite exciting. I logged on around 5:30 am after sitting there for a couple of hours I decided to go and watch tv in a different room. Turned the speakers up high, every few minutes I would go and move my character some so it wouldn't log me out. I was watching one of my recorded shows and forgot to go and move my character and then bam the npcscan went off! I came running into the room noticed that the clock was timing down to log off. I had 6 seconds left! I had to move my cat that was sound asleep in my chair, click that button to stop the countdown then start the taming! After holding my breath for what seemed like forever Arcturis was mine LOL

To those still waiting, don't give up!!

Now I just a good name that goes with all the confusion that was going on during the taming. Any suggestions??

I got Bozznik (My spirit bear kitty) a couple of days ago.

I didn't really do any form of camping on him but visited his spawn spot a few times through out the day and once before I logged for the day.

I got him on my final visit for the day, just flew in and he was there waiting for me with his big bear grin

I walked up to him said a quick hello and tamed him, no muss no fuss.

Now if only Skoll was that simple, I think Ive spent 3 days non stop camping him .. saw him killed twice by members of my own faction

Since i saw the post here about Arcturis i wanted to get him for my Dwarf hunter. I was 75 when i logged on. Haven't played for a while. So i started questing in GH , was some lvl80 Tauren sitting where he spawns so i though ill pick him up after... Now i dinged lvl78 , still have only seen him twice in all the time , and both times was a lvl80 hunter with him tamed , standing near where he spawns... so i uninstalled NPCScan... gave me a heartattack each time. Went flying around picking up flightpaths in Zul drak and , lo and behold i happened upon Gondria. Tamed the kitty and thought , oh well , a kittycat is better than nothing i guess.

Well today i logged on again and noticed i had a quest left to turn in at Amberpine lodge. So i flew there and who do i see on the hill down from the lodge!!

So i dismissed my regular Tanking bear that i used for a groupquest. Went down and Tamed myself an Arcturis.

Then i gated to Dalaran and went to IF , put him on one of the bridgemounts in front of AH and let him stand there with pride. 8)

Now to level him up... 8(

Hang in there! I have heard he has one of the longest spawn timers of the spirit beasts. Might be because he only spawns in one place. But if you've put in 12 hours, you can certainly do another 5 or 7!
