But MPQs won't be merged anymore?
If you create an .MPQ and call it patch-2.MPQ, if the new patch creates its own .MPQ with that name it will merge them.
Also some patches will merge all patch-X files into the main .MPQs.
But as I said, there's no need for MPQ's anymore.

Yeah, but for my edits to load, I HAVE to put them in an MPQ. If I just put the files in there without the archive, the game won't load them. I guess it would be possible to set it to load them separately, but that's beyond my skills.
Oh, and every patch that affects the MPQs merges them, and that's almost every patch.

Are you sure? Mine load without .MPQs and I haven't changed anything.

Are we talking modelhacks or the sounds now? The sounds load just fine. Not my modelhacks.

I was talking about both, but I thought they had changed it when they changed the sound files. You no longer need a fix for model edits, I know that much =P

Nope, I know that. :P But I'm pretty sure they still need to be in MPQs.

Ah, I haven't done any model edits since Warden was able to scan files.
Think we have successfully derailed this thread though.

Ah, I haven't done any model edits since Warden started scanning certain files.

It's bound to happen when I'm participating. But you can avoid Warden easily, by not modifying the original files. Name the modelhacked new ones something like Patch-4 or Patch-A and they will work.

It still scans it doesn't it?
I know the campfire model is scanned now, even if you create another MPQ file and call it Patch-A, it will scan the file in Patch-A.MPQ and the one in Common.MPQ wont it?

I think it only scans the default files, that excludes stuff you add afterwards. I believe it goes 1, 2, 3 and so forth. If it can't find 4, I think it skips further checks. That's why I name mine 5. But I'm not really familiar with how it scans, I've never had any problems at least.

Excelent, thanks. Maybe I'll set it to one of those sound files of a kitten trying to sound mean. "Rawr!".
