Well, let's see. Loque I tamed around 4:40PM server time, and Aotona around 10:40PM server time (She had spawned about 4:40 or so, I'd give or take a few minutes). I mostly remember the time because the hunter who showed me was very kind and I was pretty giddy. I'd probably put Loque in the 4-6PM range, since the hunter who showed me had waited a few minutes. I'd keep going for Gondria, as there's less hunters camping her but this event has played havoc with rare hunting. x.x

Oh and Takk used to drop a pet now its in the nest. But before people used to camp Takk, Dart, and the matriarchs hardcore. You never saw them up for long and were killed as soon as they were spawned so I am also thinking.. its going to suuckk to get jadefang.

I am not sure myself. And I suspect they made the change to the raptor pets so people with NPCscan couldn't corner the market. Though yes, it will suck HARD to get Jadefang. I want the fire turtle too and the blue scorpid, but ... given most rares take weeks for me (Though Gondria took two evenings of camping ), I have a bad feeling about it.

Thanks. And good luck. I was shocked how on the nose Aotona's spawn was (And just about went into cardiac arrest), but I suspect it varies with how long she is up until tamed or killed too. I also had done it on a Tuesday if that helps. And enjoy your nap! I have a hard time camping a lot since I'm on campus most of the day.

Good luck on your quest. I've been taking a break from the Basin. It's a pretty place but I suspect it does strange and terrible things to your sanity after so many hours.

I would love to stick with Gondria, but having an actual time to go off of is too great of a chance. I've been camping Gondria for about 18 hours, on and off without a clue as to when she popped up last.

Well well looks who`s here the Rare Pet Master < ha ha anyways well on my server Aotona was a pain no offense Shandris Server isn,t working very well with Rare in SB i Tell you what the Game master told me about Aotona well first they told me Aotona is bugged which she was.... all other rares was spawning but roughly wrong hours and wrong times... for some reason Loque and King krush sometimes spawn like 2hours or 10 hours for some reason. I am surprised they still haven't fix the issue on my server, i had all my mates sitting in Aotona spot for 1week straight No sleep no nothing just sitting there waiting for npc go off... Well i told them to give up since was too much of an issue it wouldn,t spawn over a week ? like seriously!!!!! I dont get it! Then the next day we had an rolling restart 2weeks i been out there ..... Finally it spawned i counted the hours went back there try help my friend get it guess what.... No luck no spawn.... I'm upset of blizzard not fixing this issue we never saw it spawn again! We stay for like 3days she gave up and going to wait til Cataclysm Release!

For what it was worth, the GM I got told me it could be up to a week for a rare to spawn. Sometimes they do bug out but. I'm still after Skoll and I'm glad Wild got his Gondria. I just take my camping bit by bit. It's frustrating to see never see Skoll ever, but sooner or later! I just remind myself to be happy for others and not let the big green-eyed meanie get hold of me.

Hehe @ Novikova trust me you will get them soon i promise:D I thought Skoll was pretty easy to get but then again guess i was lucky:D i had gondria in few secs i flew there ...and there he was... i had it for abit and didnt click me to keep it so i release it in the wild but i got the other rares Skoll,Aotona,Loque,King krush-called him Krushie hehe:D,Humar pridelord and so on... lolz but the pets i never like was Gondria and Spirit bear they dont have the looks i want.. that bear would of been ok if they got rid of those ugly eyes marks looks like a ninja or some crap haha:D

Aw. I like the eyes and purply. I think Gondria is my favorite. I'll get Skoll sooner or later. ^_~ Worst case scenario: I wait until Cata clears Northrend out a bit. Thankfully I'm not a fan of the bear, I just keep an eye out for him when I buzz over.

Well on my 3rd week of my Krush hunt I came across...........



So not all wasted time In SB, just need luck with Krush now.

Not that I know of. Usually two will spawn within an hour and the third lags behind a bit. I couuld be wrong. And grats on your parrot.

The rares in the Basin definitely do not share spawn timers. When we had a whole bunch of Petopians in the basin hunting Loque we found Aotona and Krush within an hour of each other.

The theory that only 3 rares are ever up at a time in Northrend DOES have some merit, however. Case in point; when I was hunting MY Aotona, I camped her for hours and she didn't spawn. A couple guildies went out and started hunting other rares in Northrend, and after about 2-3 kills Aotona spawned directly behind me while I was doing a ring. It was pretty cool actually.

Thanks. I like them lots. Rain is my parrot 'o doom. I'm very grateful for them. I am glad lots of folks here are getting theirs too.

Finally tamed it today, after a 10 hour respawn timer! Happy hunter!

I became "The Bird Lady" on Area 52 tonight.

I was farming some herbs on my DK when NPC scan went nuts, AOTONA! I clicked, and it targeted her. I instantly checked the hunters in SHolazar, and whispered "AOTONA is here!"

Got immediate response "Did you kill it?!"
My reply "HECK NO! She's at the SW spawn"

Next thing I know i am getting whispered "I'm taming her now! I love you so much!!!"

So, I helped keep Aotona from being achievement fodder for someone who doesn't care, made a hunter's day, and I am so thrilled!

Oh, and it was really this hunter's lucky day, tamed Loque 4 hours previously. They decided to see if they could go 3 for 3 and get Krushie too!

Awww. That's very sweet of you! I almost died off happy when I got mine. I've decided to go for Krush too (Wish me luck. Hopefully this goes better than Skoll...) instead of Skoll. I think I'll also collect more parrots and give into my feathery herd. XP

Though, I feel kinda bad. There's a guy in the basin paying 2k to let him kill it for the last rare he needs. I'm really torn up on it. If anyone on FM sees or kills Krush, throw shoes at myself or another hunter. We'll love you.

Well, it seems my rare spawn finding is improving!

Tonight, I decided to just do one last check to see if Aotona was up. Flew around, nothing. Hung out at a spawn spot. Nothing. Figured one more circle around, and then goodnight.

NPCscan will make sure your heart rate is nice and elevated for that "tame beast" spellcast.

But is it a previously tamed pet? Click.. NOPE there she is!

I got attacked by a snake and a croc. Tame completed successfully and my new bird helped me take em down.

I called out the tame time in General, in case anyone was looking. Another hunter noticed my Doctor Who reference, and we had a nice long conversation about our common interest. We bounced a few name ideas back and forth, but eventually we agreed, Aotona must be named RiverSong. She is beautiful and she comes from the area near River's Heart, so it fits her perfectly.
