Guess vanish is still buggy then. >_< Feign works.

I will openly admit (on my first post) that during 4.03a's PTR, I appeared to be the ONLY hunter in game with this thing. I loved it.

Wrote a ticket three days ago asking if it is intended to tame this pet .. took ages to get an answer.
GM said they to not plan to remove the pet atm but he could not guarantee that this does not change with Cata.
So not to much help appart from "they know, and they don't freak out". Uploaded screen of ticket .. but its in german.

Any word on this pet potentially going away on 7 December?

^this! does anyone know? I know it's kinda too late now, but I want to know if I will be able to have one when my new hunter dings 37, or if I'm just too late.

And he could not guarantee it won't not change. So ergo the problem.

IE: I doubt it's being removed. Obviously if it was NOT INTENDED TO TAME, don't you think it would have been fixed already? Cata expac comining =/= Shattering. Shattering already happened. Ergo, if the pet is still tameable atm chances are aslong as it's not a bug pet, it's going to stay that way.

Please people stop with the doomsayer stuff, we had enough during ele invasion >->

I don't understand, when Phyra and I went for them I summoned twice and had no problem with either tame. As we summoned down the one for her, she just started taming and it took. I didn't FD or anything.

The only problem we ran into was when we tried to use him to call down another bird for me to tame - he kept targeting her bird with his Wrath... Dumb druid. She had to dismiss it before he'd call down another for me.

I'm pretty certain it's intentional and will stay. Of course they could always change their mind, but I know it was intentional that it was made tameable and not a bug. There's no reason to believe it'll be removed.

Well, thanks for the reply Ryai, I guess I will lvl my new hunter as soon as I can, just in case... but since he said Cata, and not The shattering, that kept me worried the eagle/hawk would disappear.. well.. yesternight

Tamed it on my undead hunter with 18 minutes until midnight before Cata went live. Had *just* hit lvl 37. I figured, while I doubted that it would be pulled as a tameable - why risk missing out on an awesome pet for a forsaken hunter? (Also, I like having a deadline goal - got 7 levels from 7pm to 11:40pm....)

Was also a great way to "park" an alt so I can work on my goblin/worgen and 80-85 grinds without any guilt. ("Here, have a new friend. See you in a few months!")

Okay, first I can say that this one is still tameable! Yeay! Just did it with my undead some 10mins ago.
And this ^ is worth noting, because I experienced the same thing; that the druid wanted to kill the pet I also only had ONE lvl 37 birdie come down, so if you are 37 you might have to call down a few more birds than the quest requires.
