I'd definately bring Loque, he'll be out the majority of the time with me as I level; then it would be a choice between Chromaggus and the Silithid for #2.

I'll most likely leave slot #4 empty, just incase a super-duper-shiny-purple-rare pet that only spawns for 20 seconds once every 4 years appears right infront of me..

I'll leave slot #3 empty as well, just incase I run into TWO of them! >:3

Planning to bring 3 pets (dream team) in with me:

Barnaby (regular Prowler model wolf): I started the game years ago with this pet and I'll be damned if I will explore this shattered world without him.

Boaz (Ghamoo-Ra): While my fave tanking pets are bears, with last patch came some changes. My tanking buddy Boogie shifted from a polar bear to a grayed bear with bluish face. Looks to have really aged him. Meanwhile I decided to tame a turtle given that I liked how the new skin looked. Then I became really attached. The shell dude has grown on me immensely. So I decided to retire Boogie (thank you my friend for saving my behind more times then I can count) and enter the new era with a new tank. The only constants are changes...

Barend (Arcturis): Another pet that has grown on me immensely in wrath. As a dwarf I feel very naked without a bear and as I am retiring my bear tank I decided to at least have one bear with with me if only in spirit. Ha! See what I did there. Hahaha..ah..yea. ::cough cough:: moving on now...

My 4th slot will remain empty for the time being in the event I find a beast that I think will mesh well with the family. Once I the 5th slot, mostly likely I'll bring a pet who still needs to be leveled, that remains to be seen. I have also "retired" my normal land mount, the Stormpike Charger, and opted to ride out on my White Polar Bear though my flyer will remain to be the Turbo-Charged Flying Machine. Looks like in Cata, some things will be shaken up a bit.

Bagu (Arcturis)
Koldir (Skoll)
and possibly Sol (Warp stalker)

Flaming Boar, Pink Tallstrider, Oil-Stained Wolf, and one blank spot for "OMG" tames...

It'll be hard to decide because I like all the pets I have (and some I love!), but it'll probably be 1) Ysuran (green carrion bird); 2) Sheldon (turtle) or Nago (flaming boar) for tanking situations; 3) Nemaeus (black panther), and the fourth will probably be kept blank or rotated among my stabled pets depending on the situation.

Edit: And at 82 when we get our last active slot, I'll almost definitely bring Apollyon (King Krush). Gonna give him some rest to start so I can level up some of my others. But my best bud won't be kept in there for long.

I'm hoping my Sheldon (Ghamoo-ra) will develop a serious attitude in Cataclysm, so when he gets angry he turns into Heldon (Terrorpene)... Not looking forward to the camping however. >.<

I don't have a 100% set team, but will more then likely switch pets depending on the situation or who I feel like showing off

Rak'shiri will be hanging out with me. We have gone through all the adventures, even killing the Lich King. I see no reason why he won't be tagging along.

Loque will be my heals and a handy partner when traveling and leveling. I may switch him out with Skoll or Gondria from time to time.

Atha my Hydra may tag along as well a lot when I have to do quest that require killing a lot of mobs or an elite. He's made a handy tankm and proved his worth pet tanking heroics, AQ and other random things.

My Final forth spot will remain open in-case I come across a rare to tame. When I get the fifth spot that will be open, and I think Ashtail may join me

AMG! I was initially going to get Terrorpene and name him Heldon, too!!! Dead serious!!! Weird.....

Buuuut, I'm very fond of Sheldon as he is, so I won't be getting Terrorpene unless I have extra stable slots. I'll admire him from afar.

I'll be bringing Arcturis (Haven't named him yet) because he's beautiful or Loque (Mairon) (I'm 4/4 but I like those two the most) and a turtle (also not named yet), then likely one of my foxes. Either Ashtail (Duilin) or Cynegrim the silver one. Saving a spot for anything else I might run across that I will want. I plan on replacing my turtle with a scarab beetle as quick as I can, because they are so darn pretty.

Umbra - what a perfect name! Would work great for an oil-stained pet.

I'll have a leveling MMS spec and a secondary dps BM spec, and in my four beast tactical team there will be:
Reventon, my old oily WOLF, with a pure dps spec to nuke mobs while questing and doing instances.
Shelly, my trusty ancient TURTLE with a pure survivability spec, for elite mobs, big packs aoe nuke and WTF moments in instances.
Mojito, my green CAT, with a selfhealing and resistance spec, to quest againts thougher mobs at lvl 83.
Zed, my lvl 77 undead Bird of Prey: even if I love him, he will be abandoned just in case I come across Terrorpene...

The 5th spot will be covered by my glowy BEAR Grylls with an hybrid spec, or by my MC Corehound, for more support on Terrorpene.
