Many people have been scouring the entirety of Felwood though, not just his usual haunts. I think with NPCscan and targetting macros, even if he had spawned somewhere else or inside of an object, someone would have picked him up by now.

Hoping olm will remain in felwood. also on a side note, i found mongress with the cursed blood blob things (surrounded by pools of green water) and found death howl puttering around north of emerald sanctuary today (or should i say yesterday since its past midnight.) I killed Mongress and found Death Howl a happy home to a hunter in the area (Death Howl is now lvl 45 too, he used to be 47 right?)

Here's a thought... Perhaps he moved with the druids out to the snazzy patch in desolace? I could see him following the druids to a place like that.

Yeah Death Howl dropped in level, I nabbed him on live some weeks ago.

Olm zone hopping THAT much would be pretty freaking drastic, no rare has bar the very minor zone hop due to a giant lava crack in Barrens so that barely counts.

Yeah. I could see Olm zone hopping to the Timbermaw Tunnels, but not beyond that. Unless he's ended up in Moonglade, and my expectations of that are... pretty darned small. Moving from one side of Stranglethorn to the other, or from North Barrens to South Barrens? I don't see that as being impossible. But from Felwood to Moonglade seems a bit extreme, let alone Felwood to *Desolace*.

It's also quite possible that he will become a quest mob summon in the future, perhaps along the lines of the Cenarion druids wanting you to put him to rest or the like. It's also possible that he may become friendly, if this is the case, and thus untameable--I know our lurker wouldn't do that, but it's not out of the question for whoever's in charge of quests to organize such a change, I'd think.

I dunno. Just a thought. He 'is' the only mob with an faction.

Not really. He's the only tameable rare mob with a faction. ;)

Actually, Mongress and Death Howl are exactly where they were pre-Shattering. :) Many *other* rares have been moved, but the rares of Felwood are pretty much exactly where they used to be.
yeah was gonna say I've seen Mongress twice, even on live, and shes still where shes always been.
i went on a rare hunt last night on live to fill my database (because i have now learned my lesson!) and found mongress right where wowhead said she would be. no sign of death howl, but he is relatively close to a flight point, so no surprise there. :P

Incidentally, on the PTR I found Death Howl in his normal two spawnpoints (one north of Emerald Sanctuary, one just over the border from Ashenvale) and in one that I'd never seen before. He was still south of Emerald, near the Ashenvale border, but he was standing right on the road (pathing just back and forth into the dirt on the eastern side of it).

Is this a new spawn point for him, anyone know?

I was in felwood a few nights back checking for olm. Has anyone noticed the moonbeams in irontree woods just down from where Olm use to live? They are these big shafts of light that puts a circle on the ground. There are no goblins down there, and I was speculating that maybe where he might spawn. Dunno just an idea. The goblins killed him and he has that new spectral skin, how pretty would it be to find him in one of those shafts of light.

The shafts of light are part of a quest to help out an ADORABLE little sprout. It's certainly possible he could flee down there, ignoring the demons clsoe by of course.

you should go back and do those on your main anyway so you can get the rainbow generator trinket!

Na, thats an existing one, when my hunter was his lvl id camp that spot and the cliffside below the emerald circle camp as well as his spawn above :)

As there's been no more PTR builds yet we can't really check.

I've been checking again and again, hoping it's just a slow spawn, but no sign. I'm thinking it'll definitely be another build until we see hide nor ha-... feather.

Indeed. :D Thanks - I like doing the PTR stuff but I haven't had time with my current schedule so I wasn't sure what had or had not been updated! :) Thank you all who are able and willing to take time to do the PTR and update us!
