Someone once who was camping Arcturis (i tamed him-- she was in a dungeon when he spawned) and she said rares have a freak summon on rare occasions after about 3 hours (i dont really believe it anymore but who knows???) so she asked to see him and i logged onto X and showed her (shes alliance) and she stayed there and camped, hour later shes still there camping, couple days later shes there camping..

Honestly (and pardon my bluntness), it really depends on how much effort you put into it. If you stay there, circling spawn points constantly and don't walk away from the computer, don't alt tab, etc. you're going to have more luck than the people who wander off and just randomly check back. Of course, even if you approach it with the mindset of 'I'm camping this spawn non-stop' you can still run into issues with the rares with multiple spawn points. You can never say for absolute certainty that another hunter (or even a random non-hunter skinner) didn't tame or kill your mob while you were checking other locations. Sometimes it's just a game of chance and luck.

His area is fairly small, unless I'm missing something. Not sure how possible it would be. Same with Arc; crank up NPCScan and read a book. We have 3 people scouting for this bird. Personally I've been threatening to simple throw mangoes at him, but BF rawr'd at me not to.

Loque for example spawns every single day approx and it took me a month to catch him and it was pure dumb luck seeing as it was my 4th day of straight camping and i didnt have much sleep seeing as i was staying up to 2-3am and waking up about 10am (im so not used to that kind ot routine).

Olm back in the day had what, 3 points with about 24-32 hour spawn and i was determined to have him and i camped ceaselessly back then and i missed him by mere seconds to a hunter that by chance happened to be going north probably to do Timbermaw Hold quests (not sure, just guessing since i never saw her before so she wasnt an active camper)

True. His spawn locations aren't terribly far apart, but they are larger than the scan circle of NPCscan. Also, I agree that it is good to have others camping with you if possible. Good company and conversation is always happily welcomed during a long hunt.

*Chuckles* I hear you. I've learned never to mention Loque in passing conversation to a few of my Beast Master guild mates, lest I get an earful about their horror-filled Loque hunts of epic length. I truly feel for you all. Sometimes I am glad I picked Survival and Marksman over Beast Mastery training. Though, I must admit..every time I see the devilsaurs, I have half a mind to switch.

The devilsaurs are pretty epic... i had a black one till i decided i didnt like him and when i was lvl 76 i started looking for loque and found king krush a total of 4 times

(first dead, second i had tamed, third was brutally slaughtered by my fellow horde allies even tho i had the tag on him and we didnt know eachother, and fourth time i held him for approx half an hour for my guild master to come from hyjal so she could tame)

Also-- i just tamed Pogeyan less then half hour ago

YES Definitely if your gonna start from the south spawn and fly north and wheel around. I actually flew forwards thinking he was around the tree when NPCScan went off and he was actually sitting behind me (and there was a hunter in the area as well looking for him so it scared the crap outta me)

Goodgood! I missed him this afternoon by minutes, and the note I got was pretty much unhelpful as to where she was when she found him. Definitely going to be taking this into account, since there's more than one hunter around.

He spawned once down there and twice at the very north by the road then once south but not that far south...like a little further south than the crane.

south of the crane is frequent but that pink dot there is quite thick for the size of the map and it will encompass a greater area at the size its at so it isnt really showing a spawn really far south

Also-- just sat for half an hour with Deathmaw and the hunter who i beckoned from blackrock (who went to org, then to grom'gol to fly up to burning steppes) two shotted him.

He survived a lvl 85 at 139 health and then he shot him a second time. (is in complete flamerage at the enormous waste of time... i woulda left him alone if that guy didnt say yes to my question "Are you interested in taming a OldWorldSkin Worg model thats dark brown, the color the Minipet Worg Pup color changes into?")

If you have three people camping Olm he will not spawn out of one of their NPC Scan radius.

One person can cover the top area (by the tree near the road, and the area next to the mountain hill) by staying right in the middle of the two spawns.

Another person can cover the area by the crane (seen him there on the PTR).

Last person can cover the south area.

Olm will not be missed if you do it like this.

Also, on a completely related note, one person doing continuous laps can easily make a roundtrip lap passed all points in less than 15sec. You'll either see someone taming, or him dead. You won't miss him like that either, but you have to KEEP moving.

To not burn myself out during expected long camps i usually fly every 10min along the spawn points. I only lost olm earlier cause i actually flew down to southern felwood to see if death howl and mongress popped (death howl, mongress, and olm popped at the same time qqqqqq)

There are three of us looking in this area at the 11hr 5-10min mark. we've been here for at least 8 hours now.

eta; 11.5 hrs. Not gonna stay at this much longer, I really would prefer frequent check-backs. I hate camping.

Oh haha, we were out for ~8 hours. But still. It was boring as sin. I Spy got old (we only had like 3 colours to choose from)... Thank you!

That spastic Blood Elf lady (who originally had left for several hours) landed next to Caleb as he started taming, watched him tame, then pitched a fit. I thanked her for not killing him, told her that was a very noble thing, and she spat on me telling us it was noble of us to "steal". Oh, people...
