Do you need to have done quests to get to Pat? I may make getting pink crane priority #1...

Nope, as far as we know, the only rare who is affected by phasing issues and therefore requires questing to see his full path is Portent. :)

Glimmer still phases at Serpent's Heart for me, ive done very very few old Jade Forest quests and none of the new Jade Forest. He may reappear further south but i have never been able to find him.

Nod, his phasing doesn't seem connected to quests, though. I've cleared Jade Forest and he phases for me still.

Well that isn't fair lol. Good thing Glimmer didn't teach that dirty trick to other beasts. Flaring them out while stealthed is one thing, but trying to flare a phased stealthed beasts? Thats dirty, Glimmer, real dirty.

Edit: I decided to see just exactly where Glimmer phased for me since I have done very very few quests. He only starts phasing for me at Serpent's heart south, so the north track isn't included in my subzone list.

If I was zoned into the following, Glimmer phased out regardless of where he was: serpent's heart, orchid hollow, fox grove, shadybranch pocket, serpents overlook

If I zoned into the following, Glimmer phased in (if he was near) regardless of where he was (I could also eagle eye from these subzones to see him): nectarbreeze, jade forest, jade temple ground, shang's valley, thunderwood

to make a visual, I used Sam's wonderful map and put purple over the areas Glimmer is phased for me. I also put blue because his track has apparently changed a little from the first creation, he dips much lower than this map shows. It really threw me off when hunting him. Pat is getting some competetion for biggest troll from Glimmer, what with all the phasing and track changing

*I can use my own image if it is desired, I am not trying to cross any lines by using this one. I am just showing data, thats all :)

I KNEW he went further south! Gah. I get the feeling he doesn't always...maybe.

BTW, with full quests zone, he disappears in that same pink section for me too. But I can see him on the way north after he's been marked. Really really weird.

And I assume it is too late in the beta cycle to reasonably expect this to be fixed. (same for the track direction)

You win this round, Glimmer...

I've posted a series of threads in the Beta Bug Report forums about issues with these. No responses...from anyone *foreveralone*

Don't get too discouraged. If it's like the live bug forum, the threads all get looked at, even if they don't have time to reply to many of them.

I hope they fix the tracks before release.

... Although at the same time I hope they don't. Because then everyone will be going backwards and only I will be able to find them quick enough, mwahahaha.

im in the same boat, i hope they fix them for all the non beta hunters (and even the ton of hunters on beta who have no clue about this) and tracking backwards is enough to confuse the hell out of them.

but im used to tracking backwards lol. thats why im checking every build, i want to know for sure when it happens. if i lose a rare because they switched it and i didnt know, ima be pisseddddddddddddd for about 3 hours till it spawns again.

I also hope they don't massively increase the spawn timers, I like them how they are now. It's enough of a pain tracking them nevermind waiting for them to spawn. >___<

The current beta timers seem to be the ones slated for release. :)

I know its completely anecdotal and doesnt mean anything but i have tracked each rare 3 times back to back at one point or another and ive yet to see one more than 4 hour respawn. that makes me happy :)

If this is the case, I might decide to do VERY early morning hunts for them. This way there will be less people tracking them and not as much stress involved.
