Plus Corehounds aren't exactly a rare thing to begin with. They're a common mob, if you think about it.

I'm one of those people who don't understand the mind-set of "If it looks amazing, but isn't a rare drop it's gonna suck seeing so many people use it."

It takes a long time for a boss to drop their mount. I could care less about "I got it in one drop" because those are a minority in some cases. If it looks good and you have easy access to it, via Blizzard store or from an achievement, you should ride it. That's like saying "Oh this transmog set is cool, too bad a lot of people use that transmog set so I don't wanna use it now" Just sounds a lil' ridiculous.

Besides, we have no idea how difficult this version of Molten Core is going to be. It could be extremely hard to kill Ragnaros, you don't know that yet.

Lol, whether it's rare or not I'll still use it. Some of my favorite mounts I use all the time are common or uncommon. All I'm saying is that I think it will be a little weird seeing everyone riding core hounds, kind of like with the aspect store mount when it was first released. Nothing to do with special snowflake or whatever you want to call it.. I could care less about that. And seeing a hundred people with the same transmog is a 'lil different than seeing a hundred people standing around Org on a Core hound.

But seeing as they decided to make it an anniversary reward and not a dungeon drop, (and no I'm not complaining) yes it's better everyone else has it than to not get it at all.

And I know we don't have all the info yet, I didn't even mean to start a debate about unrelated things. Just threw it out there as a side thought.

I am actually really excited about this! I think its a really cool idea and for once I am actually at level cap to enjoy it! I missed out on the gnome/troll event since I was too low level to defeat the boss and let me tell you- it was depressing.
I am in no way looking forward to a 40m lfr (the LAG! the RAGE! the LAGRAGE!) but damn this sounds cool. I 100% approve of the mount being a guaranteed drop from the end boss. its a one time only thing so once its gone you will never see it again. it may be common as dirt for a while but as players come and go it will become more and more rare. Just look at the haunted memento. or the onyxian whelp from the 5th anniversary.
in some ways it is incredibly rare- if you can't be online during the few days its available, have a level 90 toon and down the boss before the event ends then its gone forever. I think the reason they did not make it a lower drop chance is because it already comes with a method that will make it rare.
I certainly would not want to stress over not getting it. I already have crummy luck with world even mounts as it is.

can't wait to see how this all plays out.

40 man LFR sounds more like a pee-your-pants horror story than an exciting romp, to me.

Plus, think on this: how many people actually *know* the tactics for Ragnaros?

.... this is going to be a bloodbath, and I'm going to be along for the ride because of how much I want that mount. :/

Any news on how to get the Draenor Talbuk mount aside from the specific one from Alliance Garrison?

I dunno, with 40 people there's probably going to be a lot of face-smashing and you can still get through it. 40 people allows for a lot of fudge factor.

The closest thing to this I can remember was the Darkfallen prince in Karazhan that happened awhile back. He dropped the Arcanite Ripper (which still shows up on the BMAH from time to time)... an 'arcanite reaper' that you could use to turn into the undead guitarist from LWhateverETC, and a Vampiric Bat pet. He wasn't hard because they wanted people to get the goodies from the holiday. The downside is he operated like the Headless Horseman and you only had once a day to try and get either the axe or the pet. At least this time if you sit through the Grand Project of raiding Molten Core, you absolutely will get the toy.

The Gronn mount name is "Champion's Treadblade" it seems.

Who was your basic Kara-level boss. It was pre-LFR. If you wanted to go in, you had to set up a raid with your guild, or you had to go hunting raids on trade-chat... which I never did. Because I had a guild.

Plus, he was 10 man. This is 40 man.

Are you sure thats not the Alli motorcycle name?

I don't know about anyone else, but I'd like to see the wolves have a different mount special. The mount that moonfang has the same as a wolves idle howl. It seems to suit them much better, rather than crouching down and looking from side to side. Might be just me, but I'd like to see that the wolf mount special rather than the one they've got.

A little off topic, but I thought it was worth sharing. Also, Blizzard please make the shimmering moonstone consumable. If I can only use it during the darkmoon faire then that's fine, but can I at least have it add to my mount count? It's a nice mount and I don't want to kill Moonfang several times, only to not have her count towards my mounts and suddenly disappear and never return to my bags

I like the snarling wolf mount special. It fits the big dire wolf model. They've been ridden into battle countless times and don't look like an animal you'd want to mess with. That being said, the howl is pretty cool. Why can't we have both?

The vicious war wolf from the rbgs is one of my top favorite mounts and it's mount special alternates between the snarl and the howl, which I really like. In beta they now actually have the howl sound now too.

That's a good idea. The idea of them alternating between mount specials. I wish I condo pluck up the social will power needed to try and get the Vicious war wolf. It's a stunning model and I'm glad the Draenor wolf mounts share this look. If they changed their run to the coyote models run and made the mount specials alternate it'd be a perfect mount. My BE would use no one else.

^This. back in vanilla you could basically carry half a raid if need be as MC was alot of facesmashing with the occastional gimmick mechanic (Garrs blow shit up debuff etc). If its a fun anniversary thing I can't imagine it being too hard anyway - I am so stoked! I learnt to raid in MC and the old ZG. Such memoriesssssss And my corehound pet will look awesome with my mount and lil mini pet hehehehe!!
