Hmm have you ever experienced dinos disappearing? not being killed just vanish... with out a msg or anything. I just logged in and missing 4 of my raptors and 2 doeds..

Flying mounts take off randomly sometimes when disabling follow .. other than that I've been somewhat lucky, the rex that took off was found awhile later by Zed.

.. I think the game gods took pity on me ..

Apparently its a known bug that dinos just vanish.. and nothing you can do about it.. yay :/

Tarn, did you have them on Wander? Or were they just sitting still in your base? All I can think of is what happened to me. I had my area walled in and thought it was safe to leave them on Wander inside my enclosure, but logged in and found my two raptors missing. One had gotten killed (message in tribe log) but the other was still alive, just running around. If they weren't on Passive and something got close enough to aggro them, they could have glitched out as well.

I was out hunting the other day and when I started heading back to the base I saw one of my Raptors, I think it was Rory, running against a wall of a nearby base. He was trying to get at something in the base itself. I panicked thinking i left the door open, so I called him, and ran back to my house to find everyone huddled in the corner trying to get out. I have no idea how or what they were after... or.. why. I took a head count and everyone was there.

A little while later I noticed Alistair, Nef's male Theriz, was stuck in the corner of her base trying to get out as well. I noted this to zed and kept an eye on it. I forget how long it was until I was coming back through and, low and behold, there was Alistair in the SAME SPOT as my Raptor... attacking nothing. He was pressed against a neighboring base trying to get at -something-. So we wrangled him and took him back to Nef's place.

I'm not sure what it was that caused it. I thought maybe I had done something, but for Nef's to have bugged out too seemed odd. And just Alistair. None of the surrounding dinos. It's really odd that just him, when he was a decent ways away from the point of the wall he was at, and none of the others around him... who knows.

Anywho, my point is.. they might still be alive out there. Just run around hitting the "all follow" whistle and you might find them.

Heck, I found someone's Rex under the Green Obelisk. Said something in the region chat and the guy was so happy I found him.

Heh I NEVER have them on wander..but I saw in the chat that its a known problem that dinos sometimes sink through the world and go puf.

I got OCD when it comes to games.. everything needs to be neat and in order... got A LOT of troughs so i can have dinos where I want them

Carno's little stubby arms are so funny. I need one, I just haven't found one I like the colors of yet that was low enough to not take forever to tame. Also, I wish Raptors actually came in those colors.. that icey one <3

Oof, so that's what happened. I saw the red message, but wasn't sure.

Yesterday was a mess. I logged in and things were just all over the place. I felt helpless, I had no idea what was going on. I asked a few times and didn't get a response. I didn't want to try and help when I had no idea what needed help, if it was needed. So much anxiety.

I feel your loss, I do. I didn't have my raptor long, but I felt he was meant to be. I haven't seen any like him since. It hurts. I wanted to cry; I held it back. This game is rough on you if you form any kind of attachment to your pets.

No saddle mod? Atleast, I don't see one? Also, I saw the water turn a bright yellow the other morning. I guess that was the dino potty river...

(It's odd posting about this seeing as 3 out of the 4 people who post here were there.. lol)
I was out exploring and came across a flaming Allosaurus. It wasn't an Alpha. Apparently it's an Allosaurus pack. The female was level 20 and was red with black back and flames. She was accompanied by two males, level 15 orangeish guy with a creamy back and a gray one with a cream under belly who was only level 5. I fell for the level 5 guy. Zed came to check them out and wanted the girl and I had said it would be great if Sarai was there as we could tag all three and each get one. But.. it didn't turn out that way. After knocking out the gray guy, the other two wandered off, picked a fight with a Theriz, and got killed. ><

So it was down to just the little level 5. I think we were taking turns somewhat, running out and grabbing Prime Meat. I flew back and made a saddle really quick in hopes to get him home safely.. and that's when the lag dino hit. Oh god, did it hit. The tame went off on my way back, and Nef passed him over to me when I got back (eventually due to the lag!). I threw the saddle on him and somehow managed to get him home without getting killed in that lag fest.

I don't know a name yet, but I'm in love with this boy. He may not be in blue, and I don't think he can even come in that color to begin with, but I love the shade of gray he is. That cream under belly suites him so well. Definitely one of my top wants in ARK was an Allo.

Nef and Zed were down below taming a lovely little blue Doed. I went and played guard for a bit. We had a little camp out during the night where I dropped a fire to keep us warm. All that was missing were the marshmallows, grahams, and chocolate. (Oh crud I forgot to demo the campfire.)

The game saw fit to tease me, too. I found an absolutely GORGEOUS female raptor, level 10 or 15. Really dark blueish body with the icey blue belly and feathers. Ugh, in love! But.. she had a level 85 male buddy who I couldn't manage to separate her from. I tried killing him, but it was hard to not hit her in the process. Then they engaged a high level turtle... who insisted on attacking the female. I tried to save her. I pecked the hell out of the turtle.. but she died. So did her buddy. I pecked that darn turtle to death I was so mad.

Then I found a dark blue male on someone's boat. It wasn't a trap boat, he must have just wandered on by the ramp to it. I asked in chat, no response. So I decided to tame him. Drop down, he attacks me so I went around the other side of the wall. Hop off and pull out a bola, wind up and.... he's gone? He must have fell through the boat and vanished.. I don't know. He was just gone. Nowhere. Not under, not around... just gone. *sigh*

Moving on! Flying around.. see a raptor body on the ground. Get close...dark blue. Really? Really ARK? You are so mean!

I will have my blue raptor, damnit! *shakes fist*

I guess the color is actually black, but with the icey blue feathers and belly it makes it appear a dark blue. Or in game lighting.. I dunno. Wiki says they seem to be rare in black.

Direwolves dont require a saddle. Just jump on then once tamed

I love allos!! I need to get my hand on an alpha or two grats on the tame..
I love your rex. Those colors are stunning!.
Too bad with the raptor but I hope you get one soon.


I had an idea.. to run out with a raptor pack to see if I could take down some of the mobs I couldt not with a single mount..





BAD IDEA. They get super stuck everywhere :/ 4 of them is stuck out there now when Im home.. good thing I got my Quatzl .. time to bring them home

So I logged in with intent to tame some stuff. Flew off in search of what to tame. I found a level 10 Spino that was decent colors, so fly back home and make some spike walls, grab narqs, etc. No one responded about having kibble so I went on a hunt for Mutton. I swear I saw a bunch of sheep the other day so I went looking. Turns out those weren't Ovis. I got distracted by a pretty Doed and then I saw a Thyla in the woods. I approached cautiously.. I looked up at the trees for any Thyla or Microraptors waiting for me to enter. I saw nothing. So I inch my way in and WHAM! Tackled off my Ptera. Why. Can't. You. Do. Anything. Seriously!? Just like Kapro.. you CANNOT do anything when a Thyla has you like that. I punched away and threw my spear on and started stabbing, but I died.

Hopped on my back up flier and went to retrieve Dion. Night time.. so it's hard to see. I need to land because she's not as good on the Stamina as Dion and I can't seem to find him whistling. Terror Bird. Ok.. hop back up and try to find another spot to land but she's almost out of stam. I'm having horrible choppyness... and next thing I know I jump off her.. and fall. I got stuck on her wing for a bit but couldn't manage to get back on her even though the Ride option was there. Terror Bird starts attacking me and she starts flying circles around me so I can't get back on her. Die again. Now both my fliers are stuck up there.

Thankfully someone lent me a Ptera (with horrid stam, lol) and we flew up together to get mine back. Dion was ALMOST dead by the time I got back there. Found the girl just sitting there getting pecked by a Terror Bird, not responding. this is why I put them on Neutral yet the game decides to randomly change that. She was on Passive.

So.. lost 100 Narqs, like 80something tranq arrows, a couple green gear pieces, a blue pike, several spike walls... and that Spino is probably dead now because he kept picking fights with things that nearly killed him. *sigh*

Here's the pretty Doed, though. He was level 15. If I had an easy way to get him home I would have tried it, but they're so slow and he was quite the ways away.

I went back with more stuff to tame the Spino. He was still alive! So I scoped out the area for the best place to down him, found one. A natural rock formation that had a ramp into a pit hole. There were a bunch of trapped herbies in there. So I cleared them out to bring him over. Hop up on Dion, get out of the hole and... he's gone. That WHOLE TIME he lived. The second I get back there, probably well over an hour later as I relogged to get rid of the choppyness, he dies within the couple minutes it takes me to find a spot and clear it. I seriously feel like the game hates me.

Ohh Seilahyn i feel so sorry for you I wish you get the dinos you want soon I actually think you can pick up doeds and fly them home and drop them there for taming.

one of the advantages of playing on my own server is that I can tweek the settings so its not so hard as the official servers.. hard enough sometimes though.

ohh and gass mass to avoid the poison one to knock you out with one blow. Drake as a little smaller than dragons. They dont got a gender so no reason to have two of each since they cant breed. Baddass Fire, Ice and poison version here.

Im up to 76 dinos now i think.. and i think max is 200...

Unfortunately you can't pick up dinos that aren't tamed. Guess they have it disabled on the PvE or maybe Prim+. It's a shame, because I totally would have a holding pen for all these little dinos I've seen and wanted. It's also a big taming strat for things like Kapro to who can grab you off your mount.

I wonder if we have dragons? I'd love a dragon.

I went searching up the West coast for Argues. Only ones I found got mauled by packs of scorpions. It's funny. The second you touch the snow covered area you begin to freeze. Step back and it's like 60°.

Huh weird that you cant pick up wild dinos. Ive seen a lot of youtube videos where picking up wild animals is a thing..

So... how'd the spino tame go? Yay? Nay? You probably won't see this until later, but thought I'd ask.

I hope it went ok. Apologies for having to run like right after we downed her, but my mom had been waiting for me and the bank was closing soon. I had just popped on to check my stores when I saw Nef talking about the Spino. Figured I'd do what I could to help.
