Re: The random pet challenge: v2.

A fun place to chat about hunter pets in the World of Warcraft.

I was given the green raptor, and I must say I've never been fond of the old school raptor, but when I took a look at him I noticed he lacked the ornaments that the other raptors wear. Thus I was intrigued.
I looked at my stable, knowing I would only be able to have two pets with me and decided to bring my trusty Abaddon with me. My bigger hunter used a little black wolf with her the most of her entire leveling and raiding life, and so Gypsi thought to continue with her own-thus he is my ever faithful first slot pet everywhere I go now. So after putting Slade, my black saber tiger in the stable for a bit, Abaddon and I headed out for the wetlands.
The flight to Dun Modr was a long one, and as soon as we landed we were slapped in the face with a wetlands storm. We stopped under the canopy of a large tree to dry off, and my wolf buddy picked up a scent.
Off we went into the wild, coming across a place known as Irnbeard's Tomb, a darker place, where the ground seems to move with oily creatures rising from the very soil. One of these Black Oozes attacked while we ran by, and Abaddon took it down. After a quick inspection, we found raptor bones in the remains, along with more humanoid bones. It told us at least, that we must be on the right trail so we continued on, Abaddon leading the way.
Our trek took us past some angry little men known as Dark Iron Trappers-which told us where those human-like bones came from. Past them were some orange raptors, all adorned in feathers, but no green. We ran on and there, under a triad of trees, we found the unadorned green.
Letting Abaddon rest, I tamed the little green guy.
We ran around together for a bit, and the first thing I noticed is the flaw in the raptors that I dislike. Anyone else notice that the raptor's left upper arm goes through their left leg when they are standing still? Annoying if you notice it as often as I do.
I must say his face is properly sinister, making me think of the raptors in Jurassic Park, but the lack of an idle animation, other then standing there doing a little twitchy bounce-is a little boring.
We ran around a bit, toured the sunken city and wondered at how the light are still on in a building that is under the water....
I took him for a walk, letting him show me the other local raptors. Apparently he disliked the blue raptors as he killed them all. His war screams brought out all the pink raptors, and he begged me to remain, to raise the eggs we found as his own. Thus, he returned to the wild.
I myself will try the raptor itself for a bit tonight in an instance and see what I note. Gypsi was a goblin at the start of her life, and her 4-in-1 (other words, color changing) raptor made the faction change with her. So we'll try him in action once again-he's been absorbing the shock of a faction change in the stable, trying to decide if all is still right in the world.
Can I get another roll? This is fun to do while I wait for my friend to log on. Gypsi is 32 now.
